2024 Philadelphia Eagles - Happy 7th birthday to our most precious baby. (13 Viewers)

i'm all for giving people benefit of the doubt, but i can't imagine any scenario prior to this video that would excuse the behavior.

I didn't see the video. What did he do that was so appalling?
story goes, there was a penalty call, she yelled at the field about it, and this guy from behind her went after her for it verbally, hovering over her. none of yous would have stood for it if that was ur wife i'd imagine.

My wife is a city girl, she would have laid the dude out.
funny you mention that, there is the other side of this where in searching for the video i saw quite a bit of questions to the guy who recorded and posted the video why he didn't defend her. he is her fiancee.

This reminds me of that scene in Roadhouse:

Steve : Being called a ********** isn't personal?

Dalton : No. It's two nouns combined to elicit a prescribed response.

Being vulgar doesn't really move my emotions too much. But yeah, the guy filming should have stepped in, but I really think he wanted this type of reaction. I saw a picture of the video, they looked like they're about 3 rows from the top of the stadium. You gotta be an idiot to buy tickets up there and wear opposing fans gear. You're just asking for trouble, especially a game that isn't played at 1pm. Go spend a couple extra bucks and sit lower down. Your gameday experience will be much more pleasant.

Philadelphia fan victim blaming is precisely why I wanted to read this thread today. Well done!

The guys social media prior to going to the game was fundraising to as he put it "go into the belly of the beast." He went there filming, hoping to get the reaction he got, then wants to play the victim. Sorry, not sorry, the guy and his fiance don't get my sympathy, they were looking for trouble before going in there and found it.

I'm not going to excuse a man calling a woman an ugly C word. You might think that's okay, but I don't.

It didn’t take very long either

My favorite part is wondering whey the guy filming didn't 'drop' the other guy. :lmao:

Bunch of billy badasses up in here.

You've obviously never been to the upper levels of an Eagles games. The things you see up there make this seem tame in comparison.

Be proud.

Correct. The guy also has no clue how to read a room. The GB has a camera strapped to his chest and one in the guys face before he starts his tangent. You have to be able to see that coming.

Even with that said, the punishment doesn’t fit the crime IMO. I’d venture to guess everyone has had moments like this (where you said something harsh you shouldn’t have) in traffic or somewhere else and i personally don’t think you should lose your job over it. The public outrage from millions was sufficient enough. At the end of the day it is just words and not like he did this at his place of employment.

The husband keeping the wife in harms way for the clicks while saying “let’s find this guy” (he’s right in front of you) is peak 2025 though. I felt bad for her in a variety of ways.
I don't feel bad for her. If he was doing it for clicks, she was clearly in on it.

I agree she was in on it and at the same time she could have been physically harmed. She was put in harms way by someone who allegedly loves her for clicks. It’s sad to me.

I’m old and out-of-shape. I don’t fight anymore. Haven’t since my 20s. If I saw someone in grave danger, I’d intervene and hope that I could neutralize the situation in less than a minute, because, realistically, that’s about what I got in the tank. And best case scenario, I’d need to live in an ice bath for 2 weeks to rehab every shredded, atrophied muscle in my body that got pulled or torn.

Even in my heyday, when I could handle myself pretty decent, I’d have thought twice about starting a physical fight in an opposing stadium. If I was visiting the Linc, I’d think 4 times. There are other stadiums where this applies.

The Eagle fan in question was completely out of line. I hate the Philly ‘tough guy’ fan mentality that makes it so opposing fans have a horrible time at games. Good-natured smack talk makes the game more fun. Personal insults and intimidation are classless.

The Eagles fan got what he deserved. He got a lifetime ban from the Linc. And, if I was his employer, I’d definitely consider whether I want somebody like that representing my company.

Bottom line- all you perennial “Philly fans are classless” guys got your red meat grist for the mill and will run with this for as ling as Philly is alive in the playoffs. The ahole fan got his due justice. The Packers fans had a lousy time and got insulted, but got a bunch of clicks and are innernet famous for a minute. Philly has a good match up against a Rams team that has been okaying their best ball late in the season.

At least the fan in questiom didn’t innocuously tell someone on a message board what their Pokemon name would be. That is a bannable offense.

I am going to step back a little on my stance that the loss of Nakobe Dean won't matter much. It seems it will matter more than I thought. I believe Dean's presence helped Baun to have the great season he's had. The Eagles are going to need Dean's replacement(s) to play exceptionally well and mistake free football. I thought the defensive back-ups in Wk.18 did a solid job which led me to think that replacing Dean would be almost seemless. It will not be.

That being said, I trust Sirianni and Fangio to get every player prepared and ready to go. After that, the players just need to perform. It is their job. Do it and do it well.

I think the guy deserves some scrutiny and should be publicly humiliated and embarrassed. Going after his job and asking for more is too far.

I agree. Ban him from the stadium going forward, the end. Doxxing him and getting him fired is a step too far. Different story if he engaged in a physical altercation.

I’m not following the “getting him fired” statement. My understanding is that his employer conducted their own investigation and decided to terminate him.

100% certain I've never called a woman an ugly C word in public. Maybe that's something you do in your life, it's not something I do in mine. And since you're blaming the woman here, I imagine your regard for them is on par with the man who called her that in public. Not a good look, but if you are hoping to perpetuate the stereotype of Eagle fan, congrats....you're doing great.

I don't really care what fans of other teams think about Eagles fans or what you think about Eagles fans. In order for your opinion to matter, I need to first value it. And if you've never used vulgar language good on you. I have, as have probably 99.99% of the US population. I personally don't find this to be a big deal, again, just a bunch of faux outrage for using vulgar language. Ban the guy from the stadium and move on.

I won't respond on this topic again and allow this thread to be derailed any further on a topic that I don't find that important. Eagles fans have more interesting things to discuss this week than some guy who said some mean things.

Clutching them pearls hard!

Also peak 2025 here lol

JFC I check in to find that we're still talking about this bs instead of the playoff game coming in four days. Focus fellas.

As an aside, for those of you that think that Nick is a joke, or is a bad coach, or asks "what does he do?" read this article on ESPN. This showcases why he is such a great coach and why the team galvanized around him after the meltdown last year.

ETA: Some tidbits:

"Mailata said. "I love that guy. I'll do anything for Nick, to be honest.""

"Rodgers said he packs the letter in his travel bag and reads it before every game." In reference to a letter Nick wrote him before his first start after being suspended.

"I don't know no NFL coaches doing that," Dean said of the letters. "When it comes to being for your players and having the utmost confidence and respect for your players, I think Nick Sirianni is second to none."

Since the Jacksonville game, he hasn't done anything head scratching. In fact, I'd say he's been a bit too conservative.

Using vulgar language is fine.

Calling a woman "an ugly, dumb c-word" in public is not fine.

You know there is a difference but are choosing to use false equivalence here, which is marginally better than the victim blaming you tried on earlier today.

Good tape you're putting out there.

I think this is 90% faux outrage and I'm almost 100% certain you've used worse language in your lifetime.

100% certain I've never called a woman an ugly C word in public. Maybe that's something you do in your life, it's not something I do in mine. And since you're blaming the woman here, I imagine your regard for them is on par with the man who called her that in public. Not a good look, but if you are hoping to perpetuate the stereotype of Eagle fan, congrats....you're doing great.

i'm all for giving people benefit of the doubt, but i can't imagine any scenario prior to this video that would excuse the behavior.

"Hey Eagles fans! Do you know when your team had its first winning season and who you should be forever grateful to? It was so deserving that the Eagles got the second part of their team's name.

I'm a Lions fan and I have no idea what will happen this week. But it's my expectation that both the Lions and Eagles will win this week. If that happens it should be a great game between our teams.
How are you feeling about your match up?

I’ve always been a “fan” of Detroit and a few other big sports cities and I’m happy to see you guys in the playoffs! Should be an amazing atmosphere

It’s not an odd response. The Eagles are in the divisional round of the playoffs and have a really good shot at making the Super Bowl. But instead of discussing that, anytime someone mentions the team, someone feels the need to post video of some random douche bag being a douche bag. Because he’s in an Eagles jersey. It was super annoying when it was just a post with a link. But you feeling the need to post 35 ****ing times about it gets annoying. Got it, you don’t approve of a grown man calling a woman a C-word. No one else here does either, but noted since it seems so important to you that everyone is clear.

Like I’ve said to every other poster, we get it, Eagles fans are the worst. Move along.

And I’m not tough even when it’s a woman in packers gear.

So more coming out about the White Knight husband that sat and filmed his wife getting verbally abused. He had a donation campaign asking for tickets to the GB vs Philly game to quote "send me into the belly of the beast.". He brought his wife, sat back and filmed in a jungle and waited for a beast to attack them. He got exactly what he wanted.

Now the kicker though is that he is not Mr Righteous based on his Internet posts as well. The old idiom about glass houses would definitely apply here.

Now the Caldwell dude got what was coming to him. I'm sure that's not the first time he's mouthed off but the first time it was caught on video. He deserves everything he got. However, I hope they treat this Alex Basara dude the same way. People already think he's a ***** the way he let that guy talk to his wife but if he did it for Internet clout while saying things just as bad, he deserves it as well.
Yeah fuxk them both
Yeah both are scumbags and the girl is no better going along with it

I think the guy deserves some scrutiny and should be publicly humiliated and embarrassed. Going after his job and asking for more is too far.

In todays age yeah you can be fired for being off work. When I started at ACME we signed contracts that basically union or no union anything that could make the company look bad publicly we could be disciplined for including termination off the clock transgressions.

Using vulgar language is fine.

Calling a woman "an ugly, dumb c-word" in public is not fine.

You know there is a difference but are choosing to use false equivalence here, which is marginally better than the victim blaming you tried on earlier today.

Good tape you're putting out there.
I don’t know where you are going with this other the man trying to troll or arguing for the sake of arguing, but most of us here have condemned the Eagles fans actions. At the sametime new info has come out about the packer fans involved that don’t make them look that innocent either. The guys Twitter is filled with racially charged and homophobic responses and when people found out yesterday he started scrubbing his Twitter

Both people are idiots. Both can be true. You really need to stop the Pearl clutching. How about telling us who your team is because I’m sure we could find some poor fan behavior by your team fans. Everyone has idiots. You don’t have sit here on some pedestal acting holier than thou attitude.

Ok now we see the real reason you’re in here.

but what was that couple expecting wearing a Packers jacket and cheering loudly for their team.
HOW DARE THEY ?!
I never said there was anything wrong with it. but what do you think may happen? I'll never forget when I was younger and went to games and you would see a kid with an opposing jersey on walking around. Kid would get berated like anybody, and I never could figure out what in the world the kid's parents were thinking. Again, I don't think anyone in here is a fan of yelling at kids or whatever, but what does anybody think would happen?

I have also seen tons of amicable interactions with opposing fans throughout the years. More now than there was back with the vet. Key is knowing your environment and how to act in said environment. Common sense

You don't get into a fight at a stadium. I may sound like an old man but there's no good outcome for it. But you can call security over if someone is harassing you.
Even the best fighters in the world know that deescalation is always the first goal in a tense situation.
ehh those are not really fights. 2 punches thrown maybe, and most likely some headlocks or whatever before security is there. I would imagine security was around seeing how this would seem to be a potential issue. I for one would not want to fight as the body is old and I would most certainly lose. But If I am going into a stadium with a crowd like that you would think you would have to consider what could happen. and If my daughter or wife wanted to root loudly in an opposing team's stadium I would think you have to prepare for the possibility of an issue and what to do.

Like if Eagles fans go to Ford stadium if the NFC conference championship is in Detroit against Philly. You could wear an Eagles jersey into the game, I would just suggest going in humble and laying low if the Eagles are winning.

seriously......:bored:

I know the Rams are good, and Puka certainly has potential to go off, but I really am having trouble not getting overconfident about this game on Sunday, I think the only way Rams win is if the score goes away over like 48-42. Eagles could be in a little rut offensively, but I can't see them being held under 21 points. They just have too many advantages offensively against the Rams defense. With Hurts playing so well by limiting turnovers, I just am not sure how else this game can go. I can see the Rams getting some TDs, but I can't envision this defense giving up more than 24 points. What am I missing?

I think the performance against the Vikings has people thinking something similar could happen with the Eagles, and I just don't see how that could be possible without a complete implosion of all facets of the team

We’ve degenerated from “the Eagles don’t have such a bad fan base” to “what was that person wearing the other team’s jersey for?”

You guys are impressive. Almost as impressive as William Hung singing ‘She Bangs” and thinking he’s a star.

Looks like we'll be getting snow on Sunday (maybe an inch). Rex Ryan said his dad would say, "When the snow flies, the physical team wins."

Also, Kelce this morning attributed the way the Rams looked against the Vikings to taking the rest week and being more fresh. I'm not predicting a total blowout (yet), but I can see the Eagles being in control of the game by the middle of the third quarter.

Is this where we mock Eagles fans to show them how much better we, as people, are?

Anyhoo... Philly -6 and over 43.5. Any reasons not to have those two prongs in a parlay this weekend. I know I'll be on edge all game so the numbers certainly feel right but nerve-wracking.

I think this game will be like many others this season. Eagles seem to not blow many teams out (the decent to good teams), but instead the game feels well in hand the entire time. The Packers game is a perfect example. The score was close-ish, but I never felt like the end result was in doubt.

We’ve degenerated from “the Eagles don’t have such a bad fan base” to “what was that person wearing the other team’s jersey for?”

You guys are impressive. Almost as impressive as William Hung singing ‘She Bangs” and thinking he’s a star.
Hey do you think you guys are going to resign Reddick? Max wins on the Jets next year? 5? Thinking about that 2026 3rd rounder...

New year, new coach, new problems. Reddick will sign with approximately nobody given his performance last year. That turd could have stayed in your punch bowl for all I cared.

Yeah, we had to move the guy since he was gonna be a head case this year without new $$ and he decided to just burn his own, further proving the head case theme. We couldn't afford an unhappy malcontent this year.
