2025-26 NBA Thread: NBA fan tries for 14th time to remember Peacock password (8 Viewers)

LeBron teases about a “second decision” being announced tomorrow. Speculation is he’s announcing his farewell tour or it’s just some type of marketing campaign.

I guess the original The Decision wasn't off-putting enough for one man's lifetime.

I try to like, or at least tolerate the guy because of the the immense talent and what he's accomplished but good lord, it's just not possible.
You can’t name one actual bad thing he’s ever done.
I know! That's why I try to like him, to no avail.

He may always be second-fiddle to Jordan basketball-wise, but he's the A#1 undisputed Champion of the World for passive aggressive self promotion.

It can be hard to tell sometimes with how they reflexively defend him, but no one in LA likes him, either

Hello Mr. Bayless, this is Yo Mama from Los Angeles. Love your show. I like LeBron James. I’ll hang up and listen.

Easy. Next thing you know you'll be bad-mouthing Steve Kerr and that's when the gloves come off around here.

Someone set up a fantasy basketball league for us. @Yo Mama
I could do that. I haven’t done fantasy hoops for a couple years (just silly online drafts that don’t go anywhere). What are the kids playing these days - 8-cat, 9-cat?
I'd consider doing one. I'm already in one but I could manage a second. Following.
I'm in if it happens.
I’ll start up a thread this week.

Shams wrote an article about Giannis being possibly interested in the Knicks. However, I don’t see how the Knicks have the assets for such a trade without including Brunson. Maybe Towns could be routed to a third team or something. Bucks would want to blow things up, I assume.

Tomorrow is Amazon Prime day. He’s done commercials for them before.
Meanwhile, because people are what they are, ticket prices for the last Lakers home game of the season have surged from $80 minimum to over $500 based on this more than likely marketing tease.
Well, it wasn’t Amazon Prime - it was Hennessy.

All those people spending hundreds/thousands of dollars because of a marketing tease can now be happy to enjoy a game the Lakers will (hopefully) be resting their main players against a tanking Utah team.

In the grand scheme of things this is somewhat minor, but LeBron should have told them no on this idea. Maybe he should talk to Kawhi about adding "beliefs" clauses in his contracts.

from a cap standpoint, wouldn’t kat straight or kat and a guy like kolek work? bucks would likely want some draft capital, no?

Yeah, something like that is what it would have to be. Bucks would probably want to move Towns to another team. I'm not sure what his market is with his salary so high. Knicks have traded away many of their first rounders. Four for Bridges! Overall, I'm not sure they'd have a worthwhile package to offer the Bucks.

From a Bucks fan perspective, it seems to me Shams has been trying to move Giannis out of Milwaukee for a couple years now, reporting one after another rumor about almost-done deals and such. I get that the Bucks and Giannis may have to part ways at some point but there is no reasonable trade proposal that makes sense between the Bucks and Knicks. They're not going to give up Giannis for a veteran role player on a massive contract. I thought maybe someone like Houston had a shot with some young talent and loads of draft picks to give up for a win-now shot.

For me, the greater concern is that he reportedly moved his wife and kids to Athens ("permanently") earlier this summer. He's a big family guy so this doesn't bode well for a long-term future in the upper midwest. Maybe next from Shams is the Bucks cutting a deal with Panathinaikos.

He was born in Ohio, the armpit of America!

Ok, this I can understand as a good reason for LeBron hate.

I created a separate thread for a fantasy nba league. Join the fun! If I didn’t tag you I really meant to and I’m sorry.

It's certainly going to be interesting how long Spurs will be able to keep Harper coming off the bench.

OKC was able to keep Harden coming off the bench for 3 seasons so I guess anything is possible.

I think they've got to be in on Giannis at some point.

I'm thinking it will be sooner than later. The kid is a natural and he can already handle the speed of the game. I'm curious if they can mold a three-guard closing lineup of Fox-Harper-Castle, but even if they don't, having two out three on the floor at all times should work out just fine.

For you degenerate gamblers, I'd look long and hard at the moneyline (+$6,000) for the Spurs to win the title this year. Wemby enters year 3 looking energized; the best guard trio in the league; and lots of high-end role player possibilities coming off the bench.

I gotta wear shades.

Maybe first step is to show they can make the playoffs.

Doing fantasy basketball for the first time in years. I have the first pick and I got to keep Josh Giddey as a keeper so I'm pretty happy to get back into it. Anybody know of any good rankings sites?

Sure, if you want to settle for +$100, next year.

If Jalen Williams is a guard, then sure, but I think he's a forward (it's all fuzzy, I know).
Still would take SGA and any two of Dort, Wallace, Caruso

And definitely Mitchell, Garland, Lonzo

A few other teams as well. Maybe as many as 10
I'll check in periodically for updates.

Among guard trios that shoot a combined 31% from distance, San Antonio's collection is hard to beat.

Every season there are surprises. Many things are possible.

Just to get an idea on where the consensus might currently be, though, I pulled up the recently published ESPN top 100 list:

OKC: Shai 2, Caruso 53, Dort 64. (Jalen Williams is 11).
SA: Fox 35, Castle 99, Harper unranked

I like this San Antonio team. Rooting for them so I hope I am proven wrong in my initial thoughts.

Honesty they're all essentially the same. Just google a couple to have handy or download and use that list but go off your own intuitioin and knowledge and don't use it as a strict rule or whatever.

Actually, you should crowd source this. Give this thread a list of a few players for each pick and we'll tell you who to pick.

Well, who do you all like first? Head to head categories.

San Antonio fans were never known for their high IQ so I'll cut the little fella some slack. I'm going to need to see a healthy Wemby for 82 - Top 5 talent but I'm getting Yao injury vibes from the homme.

Got guards, guy?

Westbrook signs with the Kings. I haven’t been this uninterested in watching a Kings team play since probably 2008-2009. And I obviously have a tolerance for bad basketball. Such a gross collection of players.

Do you think it will be a fire sale at the trade deadline? If so, what do you think would be a reasonable asking price for Sabonis?

Not as long as Vivek is running things but Sabonis could and should demand a trade. I’ll staunchly defend the position that he’s a good player but I don’t think there will be a real market given what seems to be his perception and his salary.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Bulls become interested if their season goes decently. They have expirings to match plus can add some type of first round draft compensation.

Might as well keep shuffling players across these two rosters until some combo works.
