2025 BTSW Summer of Love Sign Up and Discussion Thread..... (3 Viewers)

Not much has changed since last we all met so MoP is gonna double down in the 2nd round and honor the late great Ozzy
I drafted the same player in our last get together

If you could be inside my head
You'd see that black and white is RED
Flying high again! :headbang:

2.08 Bucky Irving- RB- Buccaneers
Fire the Cannons!

70% of the snaps down the stretch for the Bucs, sign of things to come this year
90% on his catch rate, highest of any Rookie ever with 40+ targets
Where did Gibbs go overall in this draft after his Year 2 jump? 5th overall you say
I expect Bucky to be a solid 1st round pick in '26 which means he is locked and loaded for a massive Year 2 in 2025

Flying high again

Come on and join me...

1.14: De'von Achane, RB Dolphins (as RB7) - 1st time Owner, like MOP/Amon-Ra...a little small, issues with O-Line, potential production issues if Tua isn't running the offense...but oh, that ceiling, which matters in Best Ball...last available RB with a legit (albeit slim, moreso circumstantial than due to any mess of his own making) shot at Overall RB1. Was hoping for CMC or Henry, considered Lamar, and was glad not to have to decide about Jeanty.

2.02: @Go DC Yourself did a nice job with his turn, as I considered Lamar at 1.14 and Drake London was the next non-QB on my list, and he selected both. Dual-threat QB, and another Player capable of being Overall #1 at his position, with a high floor, a sky-high ceiling, and plenty of spike weeks, if all goes as expected. We'll see what comes back to me, but I like this pairing as a pair of upside foundational pieces. Glad he was available, as he was the only Player I considered, as I either didn't like some of the next guys, or felt it was too early to draft them.

I'm fading Irving a bit as I really believe Sean Tucker will finally be given a chance to show case his skills. :boxing:

@rzrback77
OTC and I didn't have the heart to steal your Tight End
Kittle was my last TE early target, but I wanted Buc-ee’s Irving. No problem though as A. J. Brown was a very nice replacement pick.
AJB normally would have been an auto pick
Went WR in the 1st, didn't want to overload in this format at 1 position and then get boxed in during future rounds

I saw Williams and Josh Jacobs, had no problem going Irving again this time.
I like JJ, had him on a lot of teams last season but I think he was the entire offense at times, I don't think that will be repeated in '25
It's really about age, in recent years I've been trying to get out of my "Veteran safe picks" which did serve their purpose going back 20-30 years
I use to love to draft WRs that were not sexie but would always hit the production box like Donald Drver and jimmy Smith, they were typically 3rd-4th-5th round specials after I went RB-RB
I was a RB heavy drafter in the early 2000s, things have evolved and not as many bell cows, with flex spots prominent, I tend to lean other ways
But I always try and lock up my RB1 in the 1st or 2nd, I looked at Jeanty but I'm a little skeptical of him in the 1st, happy for those that took the plunge with him

Those guys, Eddie Kenison, Rod smith, even Keyshawn were guys I made a living off of in dynasty for a while.
Now with only one of my two teams in contention, there are a few guys I’ve kept for years who I won’t mention yet but fit the bill, especially one with like a dozen 1k seasons in a row. And the King 👑 of course.

@-OZ-
OTC

Just keepin things moving

3.08 - D.Adams WR- Rams
One of those not so sexie but very productive WR, there's others in this tier but I have issues with bottom line production
He's 30th overall on Fantasy Pros, we are at pick #38 so I feel like it's not that big a stretch here and Adams as a WR2 paired with ARSB, think most would like that in a 15 team format

Are we not posting the player picks for discussion in here?
I just noticed and feel rather dumb for asking and also posting all of mine so far

Didn't we mostly post them all in the last draft?
Maybe some folks would like to flaunt their riches

@BassNBrew, the MoP likes your team thus far, well balanced with anchors down everywhere to start

I will typically post after 6-8 picks. Others vary from 2-3 picks per post to some will post an entire summary at the end.

But yes, posting your thought process to your draft is always a fun read

I generally post in segments.....with this group no need to draw free attention to yourself or the direction you may be heading.....make others work a little so to speak...snipers bad enough as it is..

but discussion is always awesome and welcome....and makes it more fun so I may adjust....but this group kinda already knows whats up...

3.14: Garrett Wilson, WR Jets
4.02: James Conner, RB Cardinals

I call ***COLLUSION*** !!!

I mean, how else would Garrett Wilson have fallen to me at 3.14???!!!

I don't care *who* is chucking the rock for the Jets, GW is going to *EAT* , and if he and Fields re-establish the chemistry they had at tOSU, well...that would be something, now, woudn't it...

There was no other alternative, IMHO.

I had a strong feeling GDCY was going to take at least one RB at the turn, and if Wilson hadn't been available, I might have picked Conner at 2.14. I didn't have to hold my breath too long, as he'd pre-drafted the turn. I respect the hell out of GDCY - he's acumen-rich and drafts well. I like his turn - Chuba was high on my list of alternatives, and Henderson has potential for some absolutely electric weeks. I've been drafting Conner for years, so I feel like I'm pretty connected to him and his situation...I'm not concerned about him, I'm not concerned about Trey Benson, and I'm fairly certain that the Kyler Murray dump-off will continue to be featured in the Cardinals offense.

Have to start 2; think I'm doing OK. Now, again, we wait.

JAllen
Achane, Conner
GWilson

I bounced between Wilson and Kelce. Read too much FBG stuff crapping on him and pivoted. The Fields hate is strong in this community but dang, Wilson has produced with dog turds at QB forever.

Thanks, I personally think Ref has lapped the field.

I honestly haven't gotten a look around, I just saw yours

@Ministry of Pain Daylight is burning.
We're busy in the factory minting Harvey Bars
DobbinsStoppers are a good candy but they tend to break up and many times the entire box is worthless for the season
But you can always count on a quality Harvey Bar when you want something sweet

4.08 RJ Harvey RB- Broncos
"Eat It Harvey" Die Hard

@rzrback77 OTC
@OldMilwaukee already has his pick in
@Stinkin Ref is on deck...has anyone seen Stink? Oh he's already lapped the field you say?

@Ministry of Pain otc

Looks like I’m a “Swiftie” for once. I’m pretty sure this is the first time I’ve ever drafted him.
I picked up the money you left me on the table
It's a blind spot for me but I don't have him on my radar and I need to see Caleb and the WRs and that whole offense take a big jump
Time will tell but the North is stacked and I'm not the new HC is going to be the splash that everyone thinks
I'm certainly not rooting against the Bears but I have to see it for a season, I'm not quite convinced yet

But that's why if Swift pans out, you get a nice RB here in round 4
He's not your RB1 is he? 😜

Not just mine but perhaps THE #1 back this year. https://www.pff.com/news/fantasy-football-darkhorse-candidates-to-finish-as-rb1-in-2025

How’s your TE looking?

Color me a bit surprised that seven QBs have gone already.

One in the first round
Two in the second round
None in the third round - and to this point meeting expectations
Four already in the fourth round out of ten picks - that was the surprise

Checking in - sorry for ghosting y'all and apologies if I missed anything major, but a couple of days after my last post here we had to put my MIL in hospice care ... she hung on for a couple weeks but passed away peacefully in the end. That was 11 days ago and we laid her to rest last Thursday so you can imagine it's been a busy (and highly emotional) time around here. "Man plans, God laughs", y'know?

Anyway, I'm back and hoping this thing manages to get off the launch pad for '25.

Color you surprised:shock: !
or left behind  ?
The run continues, now 6 QBs in round 4 including 6 of the last 12 picks. Pour some gas on that fire 🔥🔥🔥

After the first few they're all equal.
Define few?
Just my :2cents: but after the first 5, I’ll just wait.

If what happens at 5.5 is what I'm thinking, we all are playing for second place.
 I think Gibbs is great and Mahomes really nice value but I'm not seeing what you're seeing I guess.
I have Hill on par or ahead of Nuka in this format. I debate him, Nuka, and Collins at me 2.3 pick. Hall is a 2nd round value, but lots of good picks at the 2/3 turn. I've been Patty's biggest detractor around here, but I would never take Nix in front of him. In best ball, I have Chase at 1.1 and then 5 guys in the mix at 1.2.
