Those are good arguments. I just think ND is curb stomping teams. You could put Miami over them and I'm fine with it.

I'm just ranking who I think is better. Theyre rankings, not standings. If they're gonna be rankings and not standings then I don't give a **** who won a single game or who has an extra loss. I only care if it makes me think the team is better or worse.

I think that's silly. Standings would/will be better. Because wins and losses should really matter. But right now they only matter in as much as they make me think a team is better or worse.

Miami and ND have comparable common opponent victories outside of Syracuse. To just point to those two (Pitt calling a TO to score last play on ND backups too) is a bit misleading. They’ll have four common opponents after tonight when ND plays Stanford.

Miami and ND is going to come down to H2H vs two bad losses oversimplified.

I ran some math this morning and coming into today, ND needed to best Miami/Pitt difference in the 9-14 range to stay mathematically ahead of Miami in strength calcs across the season. That number is now closer to 19-24 points in tonight’s game. But that’s flat math vs human perception and the above will likely factor more in assuming nothing whacky happens tonight.
