2025 College Football Thread: Brian Kelly googling what regional accent bottom tier ACC teams have (15 Viewers)

The reason why Kiffin is the first name that comes up for openings is not because he is the best coach but that he has a track record of jumping ship at a moments notice for the slightest advantage for him whether school prestige or money. People know he is a mercenary.
This. I'm not super hyped about all the UF talk. Id almost prefer deion at this point just for the media frenzy.

That said...I just dont know who else. Would UF be kiffens "forever" job? I know we all want that 40 year wonderkind that'll stay 25 years but there isnt one out there. No way UF takes a chance on an up-and-comer right?

I'll puke if they hire Franklin. brohm is at his alma mater. No way Lanning leaves for UF. Gruden already 62. Fan base would explode if they hired Kerwin Bell...he's 60 already. Jesus I'm old.

With so many premier jobs open (regardless which one is "better"), someone not worth it is gonna get paaaaaiiiid.

Brian Kelly odds on next job:

Arkansas- 300
UCLA- 400
Virginia Tech- 500
Stanford- 700
Oklahoma St- 800
UNLV- 1000
Ole Miss- 1200
Tulane- 1200
Penn St- 1400
Florida St- 1600
Wisconsin- 1800
Missouri- 2200

And even if they did, could they stomach keeping him around through the growing pains? Not when there are luxury boxes that need to be sold.

So let’s assume tOSU, Indiana and Oregon all make the playoffs. Does a fourth B1G team get in and if so, who is it?

Iowa after they clobber the toothless, punchless, rudderless Oregon offense in the cash & prizes.

Vertical passing game has vanished.

O-Line can't block.

Oregon has 2 more losses ahead of them.
There is the negative GM we will love. Oregon has never lost to an unranked team under Lanning. Where do you think the 2 losses are going to be to?

I understand you are frustrated with the offense lately and I get it we are spoiled. However, offense is still top 20 and defense is in top 5 playing lights out.

So a lot of these teams that are looking for a coach are just going to trade their coach they are disgruntled with, with some other teams coach they are disgruntled with?

Sometimes a change of scenery can be what a coach needs but is the University of Florida going to be better off with James Franklin or a smaller school guy that has had some success?

My brother in law is convinced South Carolina should buy out Shane Beamer (who is not doing great) to go after Franklin
