Mateer is a major gamer.

He made me a fan, I will be interested to see how he holds up against the SEC schedule but he could end up in the Heisman coversation.

I’m a Washington Husky fan and I really admire Mateer. Wish him the best.

Not sure the Michigan defense is what everyone thought it was, but time will tell. The defenses they have left to face are going to be on par or better than what they saw tonight. I don't think he'll be able to do it by himself, but will be fun and watch him try.

On par or better may be a bit dour. I generally see OU as a top 3-5 defense in the country alongside something like Clemson and tOSU.

For a freshman on the road I thought the kid did alright. With his athleticism I was surprised they didn’t do more designed runs. Once he figures out when to bail on a pass play and take off he will be dangerous - he had a couple of plays last night where it looked like a sure first down if he ran but he hung in and looked for a receiver. That’s actually good as most young kids would panic.

Manning has been less than impressive so far. Klubnick looks terrible to me. I like Nussmeyer.

2. Penn State - They lost the flip
3. Oregon - Jumps ahead of LSU and Georgia. Might be misplaced confidence but they steamrolled a B12 school.

5. Miami - He's going to stumble at some point, but I have to hand it to Mario and co. This is a dream start.

Texas Tech -24.5. It's a lot, but this feels like a major blow-out to me. Oregon State with two ugly losses at home to Cal and Fresno State. Now they travel to Lubbock? Egad, Beaver nation.

How bad is it? My neighbor and good friend went to OSU and *ALWAYS* puts his Oregon State flag out on game days. He hasn't hung it out front once this season. The only thing worse than being a bad football team is being a team or fan that stops caring and that's what we're looking at right now.

I do think USC wins, but I don’t think they’ll cover. This isn’t last year’s Purdue. And I heard an interesting stat this morning. Do you know what USC’s record playing in the Central or Eastern time zone over the last 14 games is? The answer is 0-14.

I think you've got a combination of factors here where the Cocks have not looked good on offense, Vandy seems to have had this one circled, and the rivalry winning streak is historically long. So, it is a bit of a trap spot.

Went to Purdue on a recruiting visit with my son, when Purdue played Ball State, I was highly impressed. We went last year on a recruiting trip, Purdue's world shifted 180 degrees from last year. Everything about them seemed more professional, they operated very systematically. In April my son was invited to a Spring practice I was talking one of the Directors of Recruiting, the topic of the Jugs football machines came up and Coach Odom stopped the meeting to ask if the machines were battery operated or plug in. The guy couldn't remember the answer because he was taken off base but the coach asking the question. There was something about how they ran their football operations I was highly impressed. I would not doubt seeing them pull off an upset or two and then eventually move up within the Big Ten.

I did go 2 units in Texas Tech -23.5. I just think the rumors of dysfunction and toxicity in the Beavers' program are pretty legit and if they dropped 2 at home to unranked teams, it's going to get really bad on the road in a place dying for winning football (and spending like drunken fishermen at an Alaskan strip club to get there).

Smaller bets on Tenn +3.5, Georgia Tech +3, Sourth Florida +17 and the OVER 48.5 in Oregon/Northwestern.

Mildly tempted to take New Mexico +15.5 tonight out of sheer boredom.
