kind of wanted that this year but we hit on a guy who is going to be a perennial Pro Bowl T so all good. but we need depth in our drafts, not just layup stars that anyone could have “found.” I liked this years class all the way through. They could also look at trading down and stocking up picks. For a team with so many needs this may be the best option if they end up with the first overall.
Not overtly, no. I do believe it's a subconscious thing at this point by the officials.I don't think the league, nor the officials, have it out for the Lions.
I really wanted them to trade down in the Jeff Okaduh draft but you never know how much interest there is. I was shocked and thrilled they landed Sewell in this draft and I think that was a good anchor for this team. This coming year hopefully we get an offer we cannot refuse and load up on picks.kind of wanted that this year but we hit on a guy who is going to be a perennial Pro Bowl T so all good. but we need depth in our drafts, not just layup stars that anyone could have “found.” I liked this years class all the way through.
you look at teams like the Browns and realize it can get turned around quick. Every single pick of Andrew Berry is on the roster - 15/15. We have never had a Ravens level draft, not even once. They’ll take guys who are athletes, not the most productive pedigree, and coach them up for years. Then in Y3 or Y4 they’ve turned that athlete into a high quality football player.
we need that level of consistency from our scouts and Brad Holmes. and I really like the amount of time this staff devotes to teaching and helping these kids refine their craft.
last Sunday sucked and it was like a classic Lions giveaway. yep, refs played a part, but if stay aggressive in the RZ or let the clock run and keep pressuring Lamar on 4th dsown, it never gets to that.
Campbell needs to up his game day coaching. when your guys have been getting it done for the entire half, show some faith in your guys! this is a splash play league, on both sides of the ball. that turtle up mentality has to go.

Sounds like a broken record but I think we are slowly heading in the right direction.
Jets, Giants & Colts win. Winless teams: Jags & Lions. Detroit might have better than a 1% chance of winning one before October's over, but today's performance doesn't exactly raise optimism.Giants win their first game...Jets going to OT...rooting hard for them. The more other ###### teams win the better for our draft position.
Not quite yet oh so not wise one. #2 with a bullet, damn Urban is in the way.Well if they are looking at the #1 pick they are right on schedule.
At least they won't draft a QBNot quite yet oh so not wise one. #2 with a bullet, damn Urban is in the way.
I don't think that matters because of the terrible QB class. :(Foosball God said:At least they won't draft a QB
Like how so? I haven't listened to his post game press conferencesListening to Campbell after the games..man he does not sound too sharp. Seems more like a special teams type of coach.
I really was hoping for success but is it going to be a very long road if it happens under Campbell.

Going to be a long year. Lions found another way to lose vs Bears and a rookie QB making his second start.Romeo Okwara out for the year with a torn Achilles. Killer injury for an already terrible defense.
Plan B then. It's not like any rookie QB is going to transfer this team into an instant winner (see Trevor L). If someone like that does emerge, draft him. Otherwise go with the best defensive player on the board. Kayvon Thibodeaux would be one that could help.I don't think that matters because of the terrible QB class. :(
That is SO Lions.
Not much going right. Much of the talent that was left from the Quinn era is injured and the rookies are being brought along slowly. Sewell injured, perhaps may explain his poor showing vs Bears. The injuries are really stacking up this year. Two torn Achilles in Okudah and Okwara. Anyone else with Ok starting their sir name should look out. Not Ok man
Well quite. Aside from potential career ending injuries ( Okudah ), nothing really matters does it ? There’s a reason why I haven’t bothered watching more than a single Lions game this season probably for the first time in over ten years. So what. Did anyone seriously think they were making a playoff run this year? Every loss means better draft picks next year. Injuries happen. Use this as a season to play your depth and see what you have. There's a reason these guys got 5 and 6 year contracts.
If the Lions had won one less game a couple years ago they might have Chase Young instead of Jeff O.Well quite. It would be nice if we were terrible and injury ravaged when there may be a franchise altering level of QB as a reward at the end but can’t ever complain about having high draft picks and lots of them as well.
They might as well have both RBs out there at the same time, with Swift split out. That way you have your 3 best skill position players on the field at the same time. It's not like they have some awesome #3 WR who needs to see the field on a regular basis. I've seen them do it, but maybe they should a little more.Williams was running the ball well and it was too bad they went away from him. Lions running the ball is the best way to stay in games. Sewell and Swift's pass blocking was awful and Goff paid the price. Swift's snaps increased over Williams' in this game but I dont think it was a good thing. I think they would be better at a 50/50 pace. Williams is a better blocker and inside runner, Swift is more dynamic and a big play threat.

"It's not where you are drafted, but who drafts you"even money he would have torn his achilles
Lions love the three man rush with the game on the line.
I kid you not.you are kidding, right?
like we learned nothing in the Ravens game?
When I told someone this past week that I was a Lions fan, they asked me if I was a sadist.Eric Woodyard

The #Lions are the 1st team in NFL history to lose twice in a season on 50-yard field goals on the final play of regulation, per ELIAS.

Setting the best kind of records as always.
I don't know if Campbell is the guy who will turn this franchise around, and he's made plenty of mistakes, but it's nonetheless kind of amazing to think of the two 0-5 teams. No one is out yet on Campbell, but seemingly everyone has already given up on Meyer.
Not that I'm disagreeing -- in fact, that's exactly how I feel. I think it's largely a case of differing expectations going into the season.
Its my impression that except for the Green Bay game that the Lions have played better in the second half.
Thinking that Lions are making adjustments (probably more on defense) based on what happened in the first half which suggests good coaching and understanding. Its something you didn't see happening often if at all with Quinn/Pat.
Looking for silver linings.
