2025 Detroit Lions: 1-1 Lions vs Lamar (169 Viewers)

Find a way to complain about this one, Lions fans 😃

  • Small delay in finding first gear at the top of his drop.
  • Could use tighter route squeeze relative to down and distance.
  • Becomes a drag-down tackler when coming in too high.
  • Occasionally outflanked as run defender from the slot.

what the hell are the Jaguars even doing?

Jax now has 61, a third, 3 fourths, 2 fifths, 3 sixths, and 2 sevenths

they know you can't roll these over, right?

The last two Lions drafts were among the top in Lions history (which is not a big bar BTW), probably in the top 3. This draft, not so much. Part of it was the talent pool, and part of it was mismanagement.

If we stayed put, the best we could have done is probably Jalen Carter and maybe Kancey or JSN. I would not be doing backflips over that. I am more excited about what Gibbs, Campbell and LaPorta can do for the team despite the analytics which say stay away from RB, LB and TE early.

this was a half hour ago:
Round 2, Pick 63 overall
Round 4, Pick 122 overall
Round 5, Pick 152 overall
Round 5, Pick 168 overall
Round 6, Pick 183 overall
Round 7, Pick 249 overall

then

The Lions trade: Pick 63, 183
The Broncos trade: Pick 68, 139

so I think it's
  • 68
  • 122
  • 139
  • 152
  • 168
  • 249

Another guy coming back from a serious injury may not contribute this year and he’s old.

I guess Teddy may not be coming we are still vulnerable at backup QB this year

just cut sudfeld for teddy
Maybe Teddy doesn't want to come here? Also Teddy is meh. Hooker has some upside. The offense was gimmicky but Hooker was going to win the Heisman before he tore his ACL
A guy 26 years old competing against 21 years old should have an advantage. Teddy is a very good backup and proven.

I do not recall QBs who are really old when they enter the NFL having success.

May miss training camp

Daniel Jeremiah just tweeted:

"Don't look now, but all 5 of the Lions picks have been one of my Top 50 prospects."
I think from a consensus standpoint we added good players, just not sure about some of the selection spots. If it works nobody will care at the end of day. I was hoping we would add some more beef (oline/dline), but still some picks left. Also hoping for MI or Maryland kicker later.

Yeah, I don't particularly like Hooker as a prospect either but taking a QB in a draft is always good. There are people who think he''s got NFL caliber skills so why not give it a spin? Low chances of success but if it does work, the payoff is massive. This is the opposite of Campbell and Gibbs/. There I like the players but not the picks. With Hooker, I don't like the player but I love the pick.

I really like the Hooker pick. The age comment was just a humorous jab at the irony of the youngest team in the NFL drafting an older guy. Hooker has the potential to become a very good QB without it looking like we have a boot on Goff's butt. I think his maturity is a plus. An outstanding value at this range.
