2025 Masters Thread - Was: Collin Morikawa will TIE FOR 14th at The Masters (1 Viewer)

Rory has to dump his Buddy Caddy. I could name a hundred mistakes that Rory has made that is part of a Caddies job to prevent. Like blowing a downhill putt 6 feet by. He has to make a change if he wants to really be great.

And what about that double in the water the other day? Don't know the whole story but heard Rory forgot he could have dropped and played the same shot or something? I caught the tail end of it, but the first thing I thought of was wait, how the hell didn't his caddy go over all options with him?

Bryson's putt on 2 looked like it would stop about 40ft from the hole but proceeds to trickle another 30, or so, and he makes the birdie.

“The 2 Gladiators make their way to the 4th tee”

These guys really are insufferable at times.
Forget who, the Twins broadcasters maybe, but they announced part of an inning yesterday as if they were golf announcers. It was pretty funny. The young pitcher on the mound had a Dad that played in the Masters and that's how it came about (he did the par 3 thing w/ his Dad in late 90s).

They went on to say baseball is as slow as golf so we're going to try and announce it like they do.

These two just putzing around even and letting other guys back in this.

Aberg had two long birdie putts that missed by a centimeter or he could really be in the middle of it. He's hitting it really well today.

Tigers tv duo

Jason Benetti and Andy Dirks go with golf play-by-play during a Tigers-Twins baseball game on FanDuel Sports Network Detroit

Reed (-8) has made 4 straight birdies

Aberg, Bryson & Rose all at (-9)

Hovland just missed an albatross at #15

Rory birdies 9 to go up by 4

time for a Sunday golf couch nap

My buddy explained what happened there (his daughter is about to become a D1 golfer and has seen a lot):

Straight chunk. Wow. Your lead edge digs as you slow down vs keeping tempo. Opens face and miss on yards and right. Shocker

You end up decelerating in the swing cause it’s an uncomfortable short. That’s why they say it’s better to take less club and push vs slowing down. Well there’s not a less club there so your brain slows you down and you bottom a tad lower. Seen it a million times on the amateur ranks.

Not sure why a half sand wedge to the center of that green needs to stop. It does run uphill in the middle.

13 would be my "birdie a hole at Augusta or die" hole.
