2025 Philadelphia Eagles - Schedule leak: Eagles to host TNF game week 1 vs either an NFC or AFC opponent. (3 Viewers)

Eagles showed interest in recently traded QB Joe Milton before Dallas got him
Not surprised since Hurts needs assistance to get over the goal line. Time to look at other QBs that can maybe do it w/out needing half the offense to push him over.
Hey, look who's here!
You new around here? I never left.
No, just anticipating your patented brand of Eagles thread-crapping.
So, just to be clear, all you want in this thread is zealot-like blind obedience to all things Eagles?

I'm here to help provide clarity. Think of me as the James Randi of the Eagles thread. Help me, help you. :)
Your last 40 straight posts were Eagles related.
If anyone has zealot-like blind obedience to all things Eagles, it seems to be you.
How many posts have you had?

Again, what is the max limit someone can post in a thread according to you since you and deamon appear to be the "Post Count Managers"?
You can post as much as you want. Just don't try to convince us you're some unbiased observer here to provide clarity when you obviously have an agenda bordering on obsession. Good luck finding someone else with 40 straight posts complaining about a team.
BORDERING??? Of his 135 posts in 2025, 130 of them have been in Eagles threads either saying the team or fans suck :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Again, recency bias must be your game. I'm in this thread because the tush-push is in the news.

Your smoke screens and distractions about my posting history are only done to make yourself feel better. I'm here to discuss the tush-push and why it's an illegal play and instead of wanting to hear that, you immediately resort to personal attacks. Those attacks tell me and everyone else that you know the play is problematic but don't want to face it.
Fake news. My mistake giving you another shot. Back to ignore to clean up these threads for me. Have a great season.

Eagles will likely get rid of Dallas Goedart if they can’t rework his deal. Ej Smith if Inquire believes if he’s not traded he could be released if a contract isn’t reworked

Basically unless DG restructures his deal he’s gone either way
Can't blame Goedert for standing firm. I don't think he deserves a raise, but he'd be crazy to take a pay cut. He would have multiple offers in hand the moment he is released.
if he had multiple offers he’d been traded already. Most aren’t looking at a 30 yrs old TE either injury history. I love the guy but I wouldn’t take him either at this point. Eagles should’ve had his replacement already and cut him this offseason. I think they draft his replacement and let him go after the draft. Ends up signing with someone in camp
If that's the way it plays out, then Howie is kinda doing him dirty.

This whole thing has been reminiscent of Haasan Reddick, who was a very productive player traded just over a year ago in his age 30 season on the last year of his deal. With Reddick, there were rumblings about effort and being disgruntled with his pay. Goedert has the injury history, I guess, but seems strange they can't find common ground. It will be sad to see him go, if that's what it comes to. I'd be surprised if a trade partner didn't emerge after/during the draft if they did choose to move on.

From Reuben Frank:

"look at his postseason production – 17-for-215 with a TD this year in the playoffs...Goedert also had 16 catches in the 2022 postseason, and he’s one of only five tight ends in NFL history with multiple postseasons with 16 or more catches. The six others are Travis Kelce, Rob Gronkowski, Zach Ertz and Dallas Clark. Damn good company."

Amon-Ra St Brown ^really^ wants to play the Eagles week 1.

Aight, lets do that. I wanna see Goff without his Johnson to help him out this year for sure.

Would love to have Goedert back, but I'd be surprised. Doubt there's any hard feelings either way, just doesn't make sense for either side at this point.

If we can trade up for loveland or warren, and use Goedert as a piece in that trade, that would be ideal.

The thing is, if we REALLY want to win this year, and we also REALLY want to trade Goedert, then we REALLY need to take a tight end like these guys early to get instant production.

On that note, give me Loveland b/c Warren is like 25 right?

If we are trading up, I’d hope it’s for an edge, a stud DT or the future RT. Should Mykell Williams, Kenneth Grant or Josh Simmons fall into the 20s, I think it makes sense to move up. I feel like they can let TE or S come to them at 32 or move up in the second round to get a guy if they needed to.

I have my eyes on either Zabel, Nolen or Loveland. Also have interest in Landon Jackson for the 2nd round pick.

Lane Johnson just extended to 2027 so no need to draft the RT of the future until 2026 (at the earliest), but prefer to wait until the 2027 draft, sit one year under Lane and then take over.

Would LOVE Nolen, Starks, Loveland. I think that 24 pick of the Vikings is prime for a trade up spot since they have like 4 picks total this year. Might have to do it to land one of these guys - I think Starks might go top 15 now though so that might be tough, might have to go all the way up the Colts pick to secure him.

OL or DE, thats my ask. Sure, toss in a TE or 2.

I wouldnt mind a developmental QB.
I'd say there would be no way we are taking a QB this year, but ya never know when the ole QB factory will fire up!

OL? I'd say maybe one of those BIG dudes that could play T but they'd rather see slide inside at G. I think Steen is going to be traded on draft day personally.

Edge, TE, DT, S, TE are my biggest needs

Warren and Loveland will go too high. They're not trading up for a TE in the first. If they somehow fall to the 2nd, Howie might move up then but doubt those guys are there. They'll grab one from the next tier.

DT or OT will be the pick at 32 if they keep the pick.

The #Eagles have agreed to terms with WR Terrace Marshall Jr., sources say, as the former #Panthers, #49ers and #Raiders WR gets a 1-year deal. Contract done by Vince Taylor of @eliteloyaltysp.

Id think you have to include EDGE in there, no?
Yeah, personally, me, I don't see us drafting any position in the first round other than DE/edge, TE, or safety - watch out, the Howie zigging again when you thought he'd zag

I say this b/c the Eagles have not drafted S or TE in the first round for at least a score

Until the 1st round of the 2025 NFL Draft concludes on Thursday night (24th) with the Eagles making a selection at their original slot I will not be surprised. I fully believe the chances that Howie moves that pick for something of greater value prior to the end of the 1st round are far more likely than not. Howie using pick 32 to make a player selection for the Eagles would absolutely surprise me.

I have faith that whatever player/position Howie ultimately gets in return for the well-earned 32nd overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft will be an awesome addition to the Eagles.

I don't think any teams draft pick slot number means all that much in terms of importance of anything, really. What really is important is ultimately the player selected and the career he has.

It's nice to reminisce about how the Eagles earned being awarded the 32nd pick in the 1st round of the '25 draft but, the pick number itself is not something I feel needs a spotlight.

Name the last Safety Howie (or the Eagles) drafted in the first round (without searching).

Me neither

I remember Sidney Brown, but he was injured and CB I believe.

This would be a fun betting line

Chances Howie uses 1.32 for an actual draft pick? Id say 30% chance he stays and picks. Other thoughts?

I could see a trade up for Josh Simmons. He’d be the Next One on the OL. Once fully recovered he’d be the next dominant RG then transition to Lane’s replacement in a couple years.

Howie's 1st round picks: CB, DT, DE, DT, WR, WR, OT, DE, QB, DE, OT, DT, OT, DE

Eagles have never drafted a S in the 1st in modern era. Howie learned under Andy Reid and Howie has the same tendencies Reid did Heavy DL/OL, occasional WR and QB with a CB every 15 years or so. Reid never drafted a TE in the 1st. Based on past history, it's safe to assume that DL or OL is going to be his pick since they probably won't draft a WR, QB or CB early this year.

So some info I got since the weekend. The Eagles are looking at Guard. Steen isn’t as trusted as some may. Mentally he’s not a stoutland guy. He’s not in anyway a Danny Watkins guy but mentally he just doesn’t fit. If the Eagles could trade him they will but at this rate he’s a decent back up. The Eagles looked at starting guards last year and when their guys were all taken they traded out of their spot and then Signed Becton after the draft. This offseason they traded CJGJ in a cash dump for a younger high potential Guard. Roseman at the owner meetings when asked about RG options didn’t mention stern at all.

Though I wouldn't put it past him to trade down and take a S or TE in the high second, if that's who they think the best player available is.

“I’m sick of it. We have allowed others to nitpick at the star and make fun of the star … Now all of a sudden over the last 20 years, [the Eagles] win two Super Bowls and they think they’re the best thing on the planet, and everywhere I go I hear, ‘Go Birds.’ I’m sick of hearing ‘Go Birds.”

I hope this is true, I was rooting hard for Becton to re-sign. People forget how overmatched Steen looked during his brief time in the Super Bowl.

Their actions and words and lack of vote of confidence to Steen speak highly in favor of this.

Love me some rivalries

Emmitt Smith has some thoughts.
1. Barry Sanders, you really did me a solid by retiring early. I appreciate the assist in reaching the top of the rushing leaderboard!
2. Jim Brown, I admire your choice to step away at your peak but if you’d stuck around, I might've had a lot more work to do!
3. A heartfelt thank you to my offensive line you guys paved the way so well, I sometimes felt like a luxury passenger on this journey.
4. Jerry Jones, I gotta hand it to you your negotiating skills made sure I was the one cashing those checks instead of some other great players!
5. Troy Aikman, we made a great duo your handoffs were so smooth, I sometimes wondered if you practiced those more than passing.
6. If running behind legendary linemen was an art form, I’d be the Picasso of finding perfect gaps!
7. My durability wasn’t just about my talent was also about knowing when to let my offensive line do the heavy lifting!
8. Running the ball is great, but the real challenge was dodging Jerry Jones in contract negotiations!
9. I played so long, I started wondering if football seasons were measured in dog years!
10. They say records are made to be broken but mine comes with a built-in security system called "longevity!"

fun list. sorry for going off topic a bit here, these two may belong to Terrell Davis more than Emmitt. that o-line churned I think 3 more 1000 yd rushers after TD who were all pretty much nobodies everywhere else.
