2025 Philadelphia Eagles - Big Dallas news to talk about. (3 Viewers)

Really happy for Kellen Moore there in NO. Tyler Shough has a great story Ig you want more go watch or listen to the Todd McShay pods around the draft and shortly after. He interviews this guy at the combine. Bone breaks and was Justin Herbert’s backup at Oregon. Rated one of the best QBs in his class outside of TLaw. Getting his QB year 1 helps that rebuild for him

Andrew Mukuba Scouting Report:

Bio: 4* recruit who became the first true freshman defensive starter for Clemson since 1972. He started 31 of 35 games over 3 seasons for Clemson and then transferred to Texas for his senior season.

Physical: 22 years old, 5'11" (40th percentile), 186 pounds (14th percentile), 4.45 40-yard dash (71st percentile), 5.11 Relative Athletic Score

Stats: Allowed 7.4 yards per reception (2nd), 1.6 YAC/REC (1st), 5 INTs (2nd), 6 PBUs (4th), 12.1 Passer Rating when Targeted (2nd)*

Usage: 415 career snaps in the box, 1,181 at safety, 803 in the slot, 34 at boundary CB

Strengths
🏈Ball Hawk! He had 5 INTs and 6 PBUs at Texas in 2024. He is a good ball tracker who surveys the field well and reacts quickly.
🏈Displays natural coverage instincts
🏈Has great range due to his speed and recognition
🏈Aggressive run defender with a quick trigger downfield
🏈Very versatile. Played in the slot a lot for Clemson, but played a lot of deep safety for Texas, which is probably his best usage.

Weaknesses
🏈Will struggle at the catch point against bigger TEs. Small for the position, and it shows up against big targets.
🏈Tends to dive at the legs of bigger RB,s which leads to a lot of missed tackles (14.4% missed tackle rate in 2024)
🏈Doesn't play from a trail position very well (largely irrelevant if he plays deep safety)
🏈Doesn't have a ton of experience in man coverage

Scheme Fit/Round: 2nd - Deep safety (either split field or the post safety in single high schemes.

*Stats among top 20 DBs in the draft class

That’s a direct CJGJ comp.

CJ is short, but well built. This guy sounds too small. Sydney Brown will win the job. But what do I know.

Good write up. It sounds like they are placing a bigger value on safeties who can cover. In that sense, Mukuba could be a dimaond in the rough and take the starting spot from Brown.

I would have preferred that they use the ammo they had to move up in the 2nd and get a player like Arroyo, Ratledge or Amos and then let Mukuba fall to them in the 3rd. The other safeties like the kid from ND fell quite a bit.
