Getting a Vic equivalent is the way to go. If Daboll is interested he’d be a lock. He’s already coached Hurts and has had great success as an OC.

They have to be tipping the plays, either formation or something. And getting to LOS with 10secs left isn’t ideal either

They’re not tipping plays per se. Teams have tendencies and with each passing week they’re more and more telling. Good/great coaches are also good/great at scouting themselves and beating their own tendencies. Example being they’ll show you a look they know you’ve seen 20-30x and instead of pulling for a run they’ll pass etc. The OC is taking so long to get plays in because he has no idea what to even call most times.

Here’s a sad but true stat for the Eagles in 2025:

The Eagles have scored seven points or less in an entire half in eight of their 11 games played.

And I know it’s like beating a dead horse, but this is Jalen Hurts when asked about the possibility of Kevin Patullo becoming the new offensive coordinator months ago.

He knew and after Brian Johnson, I think most of us expected similar.

So the question is why is this guy even on the staff? We really need to start questioning Nick’s picks here for coaches. No wonder Lurie and Roseman wanted to help pick. They aren’t trusting Nick to do it.

I’m talking about you all saying the OC is the reason you’re losing games. My question is, if OC sucks so bad, why doesnt hurts change the play at the LOS alot more often? If he’s calling running plays that aren’t working why doesn’t he change it to a play action pass to one of your all world wrs? Or a different run play?

In NY he didn’t do well and I don’t follow them closely enough to see what players said about him. He had stretches of looking pretty solid with a rookie QB and RB while arguably their best player was missing.

Also, the “well what did such and such do that was so impressive at whatever their last job was” is silly. You’ve got watched this game long enough to see a TON of coaches and players who were below average at one stop and did well at another. Going into last year alone we had a HC who fit the criteria, OC and our DC was running a system the league as on to. Over the last 10 years I could probably find 100 examples.

So the question is why is this guy even on the staff? We really need to start questioning Nick’s picks here for coaches. No wonder Lurie and Roseman wanted to help pick. They aren’t trusting Nick to do it.

This is where you need to kind of pick a side of the fence. One post your sources tell you Lurie and Howie pick his coaches. Later on it’s Nick’s fault.

The truth is in the middle. They colab on their hires. Also, I’m sure all of us work at a job where some are awesome, some suck and there’s many in between. This is no different. We have 25-30 coaches. Expecting them all to be great isn’t realistic

I’ll beat the dead horse again—when you play as late as we did you have to go with the candidate you’re most familiar with. As it stands now it was a poor decision.

Honestly I think most of us put most of the blame for the struggling offense on the new OC. The scheme is very vanilla, very few shifts, almost no motion. Static, and worse, predictable. Hurts RARELY passes when under center. Outside of Djax, not many are putting it on Hurts. HIs efficiency metrics are still terrific, and he protects the ball.

The other big culprit is the line. Barkley doesn't look as as sharp this year, but he's also hit in the backfield far FAR more often then last year. The O-line isn't nearly as good as it was. The holes are smaller and there are fewer of them.

All isn't lost. The team still has a terrific defense, and there are weapons on this offense with a QB who doesn't beat himself. This team isn't going to morph into a powerhouse scoring 30+ week in and week out, but they are capable of finding a little more consistency and put up 26 or so most weeks...which is enough when your defense plays solid and your QB doesnt turn it over. The team doesn't look like it will freefall. They'll still win the division and are likely playing in at least the divisional round. I don't think they're good enough to win the bowl again unless something dramatic changes on this offense.

In NY he didn’t do well and I don’t follow them closely enough to see what players said about him. He had stretches of looking pretty solid with a rookie QB and RB while arguably their best player was missing.

Also, the “well what did such and such do that was so impressive at whatever their last job was” is silly. You’ve got watched this game long enough to see a TON of coaches and players who were below average at one stop and did well at another. Going into last year alone we had a HC who fit the criteria, OC and our DC was running a system the league as on to. Over the last 10 years I could probably find 100 examples.

They didn’t do much of anything well. I had two people army my old job who were giants fans who wanted Daboll fired last year complaining about the exact same stuff we complain about our Current OV maybe he’s the type of OC that faults get covered up constantly by better talent like Buff had. Jordan Ranaan has a report last year of players losing faith in him last year. Several players and coaches complained about Dabolls sideline behavior and reported he threatened Kafka after a player dropped a pass. There were several reports of him lacking accountability

The what has he done there question is more or less this is what have you done for me lately league. I haven’t seen anything that tells me he’s this amazing OC that people claim him to be. Steichen has turned Danny Dimes around something that Daboll was supposed to be good at? I don’t need every coach here to be perfect. I need consistency and people who know how to do their job. And we all have a guy or two unqualified at their position who skated by or sucked up to get there without the qualifications I’m sure

This is where you need to kind of pick a side of the fence. One post your sources tell you Lurie and Howie pick his coaches. Later on it’s Nick’s fault.

The truth is in the middle. They colab on their hires. Also, I’m sure all of us work at a job where some are awesome, some suck and there’s many in between. This is no different. We have 25-30 coaches. Expecting them all to be great isn’t realistic

I’ll beat the dead horse again—when you play as late as we did you have to go with the candidate you’re most familiar with. As it stands now it was a poor decision.

After the debaticle in 2023 the Lurie and Howie wanted help pick the coach since Nick was micromanaging Johnson. The belief was if Nick failed last year if it got bad enough mid season change they wanted someone who could take over interim coaching. Nick signed on with the Eagles with the knowledge of long term if Fangio was available that’s who Lurie and Howie wanted on DC but Nick was able to pick his initial staff and replacements when guys left. After last years success Nick picked his replacements for anyone leaving. My comment was more in the fact of where’d Nick picks coaches sh** goes sideways.

I think the last part is just a copout who do we pick. There’s always people available. You or someone else literally posted a link of Hurts being asked about KP before being named OC and reading between the lines it was he sucks but I can’t change what they want. My question was if players already didn’t like him why wasn’t he let go to begin with. There’s always a college guy you could get. We literally took Bowling Greens HC for our QB coach. The team knew Moore was leaving after season no matter if they won the SB or got there so why weren’t they already in the process of having candidates on paper? Every team has a list prepared of who they want, who might and may not be available etc. especially for a team like the Eagles who know they’ll replace the OC consistently you should have that prepared already.

You were also defending Brian Johnson in 2023, who currently is still not a OC or HC, still an assistant passing game coordinator for a team with current offense rankings in the bottom 25% of the league in pretty much every meaningful statistical category.

basically. Brian Johnson is the guy who plays Madden and just calls a bomb on every single play. Got it.

If he’s calling running plays that aren’t working why doesn’t he change it to a play action pass to one of your all world wrs? Or a different run play?
