3rd Shark Pool Mock Draft (1 Viewer)

Considering my "unprecedented" trade downs for Seattle:

Do you think I would've been better off taking less value, but only moving down once?

3.06 Jonathan Luigs G/C, Arkansas

Can play three positions on the oline, one of the big hogs of the wild hog offense. Can play three positions on the line, can move to guard if Cook is as good as Lewis says and move Whitworth for depth at RT

OT1: Levi Jones

OT2: Andre Smith

OG1: Andrew Whitworth

OG2:

C1: Jonathan Luigs

C2: Kyle Cook

OG1: Brian Williams

OG2:

OT1: Anthony Collins

OT2: Whitworth

1.6. Andre Smith OT

2.8. James Laurinitis LB

3.6. Jonathan Luigs C

three impact starters so far not a sexy draft thats for sure

Dallas at 3.05 HATES the board and eventually reaches and selects- OT - Troy Kropog - Tulane
Updated OP...I had a hard time picking anyone for Dallas here too.
No value here for what Dallas draft needs were:BPA-Rashad Johnson....I couldn't take him with just drafting Smith and projecting him to be a FS.Others I looked at were:Chip Vaughn - SSDanelle Ellerbe - ILBLouis Murphy - WR (As picked for me) was a consideration along with Jauquin Iglesais ***Hell I almost took Herman Johnson just for poops and giggles.

Atomic Punk and I have been talking about a trade, so please give him a little time to check in and for us to continue our discussion.

3.08, Jacksonville Jaguars take Andy Levitre OG/OT, Oregon State

We might have focused too much on offense, but we're happy with:

1.04 - Matthew Stafford, QB Georgia

2.39 - Percy Harvin, WR Florida

3.72 - Andy Levitre, OT/G, Oregon State

Franchise QB, playmaker, and in some opinions, the best interior OL in the draft.

We'll have to address D later or next year.

3.01 The Detroit Lions select Fili Moala, DT, USC

Yet another building block for the DL. He can be a dominating presence inside and will fit in nicely with the other additions. Here's hoping the new head coach Schwartz will help him maximize his enormous potential.

2009 Detroit Lions Draft:

1.01 Eugene Monroe, OT Virginia

1.20 Larry English, DE/OLB Northern Illinois

2.01 Jarron Gilbert, DE San Jose State

3.01 Fili Moala, DT USC
Lions :blackdot:  :lmao: Great draft.
Thanks! Like I said in an earlier post, this team desperately needs talent on the DL. I think I accomplished that. Building the lines should be the first priority of the new FO. With the first pick, the way I look at it Monroe will be an ALL pro type player for the next 10 years while there are questions about Stafford. I'll take the more highly rated guy at the 2nd most important position on the field. I think the Lions will wait until next year to get their franchise signal caller.
This would be so awesome.

3.09 Green Bay - Jarious Byrd Oregon CB

Fitting in with Ted Thompsons policy of taking durable players, (With the exception of Harrell) Started 37 games at Oregon. Good Height and Size, but not a burner. The 3-4 normally plays more zone than man, and I think his lack of top end speed can be hidden in a zone. 17 Picks at Oregon show top notch ball skills.

This gives the Packers the following CBs in two years.

Jarious Byrd

Tramon Williams

Patrick Lee

Will Blackmon

Picks so far

1.09 - Michael Oher, OT Mississippi

2.09 - Ron Brace, DT Boston College

3.09 - Jarious Byrd, CB Oregon

3.19 -

3.10 San Fran 49ers select Greg Toler, CB, St Paul's

This one may wind up the most bewildering pick of the mock, but I'll suffer the blows just to call the name of the first player ever to drafted to any professional sport from my alma mater. Heck, they only bought the football program back within the last 5-6 years. Toler is a SMALL school product, who has been making the circuit of visits and has been impressive. He's not likely to get drafted this high, but I don't expect the kid to last long the second day of the draft.

Not an awful pick actually. He's been getting alot of buzz in the last month. You might have been able to move down in the round, but this isn't ridicule inducing by any stretch.

3.11 Buffalo selects OT Gerald Cadogan, Penn State

It is obvious the Bills need some help on the OL after trading away Jason Peters. I hoped for Oher at 11 missed on him, then Britton at 28, missed again.

Denver trades 3.15 and 5.13 to the Jets to move up to this spot

3.12 Denver selects Rashad Johnson, S Alabama

Denver is fortunate to get Johnson here. He can come in and compete with Renaldo Hill at FS this year. He was Alabama's defensive leader and is a very smart player who could become a staple in Denver's defensive backfield.

Denver picks so far:

1.12 Tyson Jackson, DE LSU

1.18 Connor Barwin, DE/OLB Cincinnati

2.16 Coye Francies, CB San Jose State

3.12 Rashad Johnson, S Alabama

Do we want to try for 4 rounds?
Yeah...actually I think we should try to get in as many picks as we can until Friday evening or Saturday morning as long as everyone else is on board. I just haven't copied and pasted the 4th round order yet.

To keep things moving3.07 Oakland selects Chip Vaughn, SS Wake Forest
No offense man, but you should at least give the team the hour to pick that we had all agreed to. If I don't make it in an hour fine, but come on.And how can you possibly take Vaughn over R. Johnson at S? That makes it all that much worse.

Sorry man I tried to make the right pick. I like Vaughn and I thought he would replace Gibril Wilson at SS where Johnson would not be a good fit. I gave you 50 minutes instead of the hour, sorry about that.

I dont know, I have Vaughn (#60 player overall) ranked MUCH higher than Johnson (#82) :lmao:

Only to have the same person who made the Vaughn pick then trade to get up to get Johnson? I don't want to judge without all the facts, but it is a tiny bit fishy.
:lmao: Seriously, if you want me to give him Johnson I will. No big deal. I made the Vaughn pick as I thought he was a better fit. Please don't insinuate that I am trying to manipulate this mock draft. I will gladly give Johnson to Oakland and take Vaughn instead. Like I said, I thought Oakland could use a SS rather than a FS...my bad.

As I said to you after you PM'd me. I'm not judging or saying anything aout your intent. I can just see why he may of thought that. So easy big fella, I'm a fan you for all of your efforts with this mock. Can we just continue?

2.32 Duke Robinson Analysis- I honestly would take him at 51, in this mock I went with Smith expecting to have Herman Johnson (Which I traded up for) and hence missed Robinson being still on the board as I kept checking to see if Johnson was still there.Duke Robinson is the best Guard in College Football. Great size and fits exactly what the Cowboys do in the tough NFC East. He immediately challenges Kyle Kosier for a starting job and allows Dallas to release Montrae Holland to save over 2 million on the cap. Road grater and even not bad on screens and in open space.I cannot believe he is still on the board. He should be a 40-50 pick.
Had William Moore still been there who I was thinking should have been our choice in the 2nd (along with your choice and Duke) would you have still taken the Duke over Moore? The only thing about your trade ... the Duke won't make it past Pitt who wouldn't trade down. Not thrilled with the 3rd round choice after landing the Duke. Woulda been great to trade up and land Beckwith or farther down at that point. My ideal mock has Dallas getting Duke, William Moore, and one more player like Smith by trading up a few times and giving up some of their bulk picks later perhaps coupled by a slight trade down in the 2nd.

I agree about your Pittsburgh comment, in real life Dallas will need to move up more to get Duke if they pass at 51. After Beckwith (and I'm not even that high on Beckwth anymore) went...I didn't like much and I didn't have time to look for a trade down. I do like Moore, but he is starting to look like a Roy Williams clone. I'm nervous about him. After doing this mock, I really hope we move up from 51 a few spots to see if we can snag Delmas. Then a few spots up from the third 3.05 into late second round land (Duke/Robeskie or other player that falls etc), as well as moving up from 4.01 to late third round were I start to see a huge decline from a talent to needs point of view .

3.78 San Diego Chargers - TJ Lang, Eastern Michigan

Almost went with Shonn Greene here, but liked the G/T better.

The Rams are happy getting the anchor on the oline and 2 nice playmakers on defense. I was really trying to move up in the second round to get Freeman when he was sliding but kind of glad I didn't. I think he would have been good value but I like the Boller signing by the Rams and maybe Buger won't be such a P_S_Y if he can get some protection. I also was trying to move up to target H. Nicks but wasn't able to. He was the only wr I was targting with my 2nd round pick but I thought Delmas, while maybe not a huge need currently, adds a great demension to the type of defense that we want to run.

Jason Smith

Louis Delmas

Darry Beckwith

I am surprised you didn't get a WR at the Delmas or Beckwith picks. Do you like the guys on the roster, or not like the guys available?

With 3.15 (#79 overall), the NY Jets select Derrick Williams, WR, Penn State

The Jets need another weapon for franchise QB Sanchez. Williams provides a deep threat on the outside to compliment Cotchery.

The NY Giants and TB Bucs have agreed to a trade. The Giants give 3.27 (#91 overall) and their 4th round pick for TB's 3.17 (#81 overall)

At the 2nd round pick there was a consideration of Nicks but after he got picked (after I was unable to trade down for him) there was no one I was targetting at the wr position. I really like Delmas, I think he is a tackling machine and someone you build your defense around. I think he is like a Bob Sanders alittle less talented though, but with that kind of attitude. I know right now we are set at the safety position but Atogwa is franchised this year and is getting overpaid. Delmas would be a great (Best Player Available) pick who will find the field soon enough.I like th e STL wr's. I relly liek Avery and Burton had some flashes last year as well. I really like the pside of L. Robinson but I think this team is going to be all about the run this year. I think their line is as good as it has been in years' and they want to run and play d. Therefore, my picks are following those thoughts. Then again if S. Jackson can' stay healthy those plans could get ruined quickly but one can always hope.I do think Nicks is a nice player but I also have my eye on another wr.

Open offer: The Eagles have one player they are targeting. Well give our 3rd and 5th to move up to get that player. Obviously the player must still be on the board when the pick is up.....
