Kasparov won the exchange 16 moves in. I'm just tryouts by to hang on but it doesn't look good. GL to anyone who has to play this guy...

If anyone wants to use the email PGN feature to send them to me, I'll upload them to lichess for computer analysis
Not sure what that is but I'd welcome critiques of my games.
Go into your closed game and click the upper right corner (the 3 vertical dots)

There should be "email Game PGN" option

Send it to shawnzo35@yahoo.com

I'll load it into lichess and post the game results here.

I think it has been since the last tourney since I've played, but I'd be up for it if there is still space.

Seems a little unfair to let a grandmaster play our friendly little tournament.
Just play the Berlin defense against him.
:lmao: FBGKramnik likes this.
Why not join up Pickles? Somebody is waiting to play you and Kasparov is going to need a challenge eventually.

I know Tim said it would be too much trouble to base the tourney on rating but it would still be interesting to see everyone's stats. I'll start:

Rating: 1313

Peak Rating: 1452

Wins: 107

Losses: 69

Draws: 8

Correspondence rules means databases and books etc are fair game yes?
No. And it's not correspondence. Everyone will be playing on Chess Time. Please don't use outside sources for help.
I thought it was ok to use help through standard opening book moves. I guess I'm confused on this. Can I, for example, consult Chess Tempo's openings database? I certainly did last year and thought most players were doing something similar.
You shouldn't consult any books or websites. You can do it before the game and after the game, but during the game you should be on your own. Naturally I can't enforce this on anyone; we take you at your word. But your opponent should be playing YOU and not the Chess Tempo database. I don't recall this coming up last year but I'm sorry if you were confused about it.
I think it came up during the group game because we were all discussing different opening lines. I think for the group game we said it was ok to use a database for standard openings. I don't think we said it was ok for the tournament.
This might be what I'm remembering.
