Watching where??
Watching on CNN. This is crazy.Watching it now. Unreal...
OMG Thats horrible!!
Is this a school field trip gone wrong?Poor kid.
He was at 8500 last time I was watching the video about 5 minutes ago.The kid is at 7000 feet!
That's my question, too. Hope he stays calm and doesn't try messing with anything, falls out, etc.this is truly unbelievable i hope they can somehow manage to get that kid out safely or land safely. do they have communication with him?
Yes.Atleast the thought that there might not be anyone in there has come up.Any thought that there isn't a boy in the balloon and this is some sort of publicity stunt for the dad (who built it)?
He'll be in big trouble for wasting the time of the military, etc.Any thought that there isn't a boy in the balloon and this is some sort of publicity stunt for the dad (who built it)?
Four helicopters + giant acrobatics net + pea shooter?Ideas anyone? The best we have come up with here is having helos fly above it, having their propwash force the balloon down slowly. Iffy at best.
MSNBC makes it seem like the highest they expect the balloon to go is about 10,000 feetHoly Crap! If he gets above ~12,000 feet w/o oxygen, he'll be done for quickly.
Looks like about mach 2 on the video.Good to hear it is slower. They just said he's traveling about 25 MPH.
No communication with the kid. I don't see how they can rescue himthis is truly unbelievable i hope they can somehow manage to get that kid out safely or land safely. do they have communication with him?
Would imagine it would wash it out from under the copter. I was thinking of two copters with some sort of net between them. I have a 6 year old and can't imagine worrying about something like this. What I want to know is why the parents called the news? just heard the reporter say the father called the station.Ideas anyone? The best we have come up with here is having helos fly above it, having their propwash force the balloon down slowly. Iffy at best.
