There was about a year or two where we all watched it together (college, as well) a few times a week in between bong rips and laughed like hell. It seemed like they didn't take themselves seriously at all, which helped. The first episode I saw had John tied to a tree (I believe someone else was also suffering from Jungle Madness which would cause rage and super strength) and picked up a knife with his foot and flung it into his hand, which let him cut the ropes. I was hooked immediately.Lesser known…but as a kid id be subject to Days of our lives when sick and and Grandma’s house. Then in college it became a fun thing to watch and laugh at our apartment with our girlfriends. RIP John Black. This guy was born to be a soap opera actor.

No, No, No....sad day for a small town boy in High School who somehow became a Georgetown fan.Dikembe.
This is a sampling of Mutumbo's humanitarian work. His 1990s "NBA Cares" TV ads were no mere lip service. He actually put up over $18 million of his own money -- and personally negotiated the land rights -- to the construction of a major hospital in his hometown. The respect that man earned as a human is a level we should all try and emulate
It's such a shame that all that guy ever wanted was to be in the HOF but was completely shunned by baseball. Yes, he screwed up as a manager but to deny his contributions as a player is Stoopid.
For sure, Kris is one of the GOATs. He hasn't looked well for a while so I'm sad to lose him but happy that he can find peace now.One of the GOAT songwriters

The HBO documentary "Charlie Hustle & The Matter of Pete Rose" opened my eyes about him. It's such a shame that all that guy ever wanted was to be in the HOF but was completely shunned by baseball. Yes, he screwed up as a manager but to deny his contributions as a player is Stoopid.

If they did, I would never watch another baseball game again.Watch the Hall put Rose in next summer.
Rose was not shunned by baseball and literally no one has ever denied his contributions as a player. This is simply false and an attempt at revisionist history. Rose willingly agreed to and accepted his lifetime ban from MLB and knew exactly what he was agreeing to at the time. He literally signed the document himself. Its a shame he passed away today but his legacy as a manager and after his ban from baseball are as much his own doing as his accomplishments on the field were. It's such a shame that all that guy ever wanted was to be in the HOF but was completely shunned by baseball. When MLB embraced gambling, Rose should have been unbanned IMO.Rose was not shunned by baseball and literally no one has ever denied his contributions as a player. That is a perfectly reasonable opinion to have. A lot has changed since 1989. I just bristle when people suggest that this ban happened TO Pete Rose, as if he didn't negotiate it and agree to it - which he did. When MLB embraced gambling, Rose should have been unbanned IMO.Rose was not shunned by baseball and literally no one has ever denied his contributions as a player. I know I told you this before but you missed your calling as a writer for The Onion.
The HOF adopted the rule that it would not admit anyone who was banned from the game AFTER Pete agreed to his ban. I wonder if he would have agreed if the rule was in place in 1989.That is a perfectly reasonable opinion to have. A lot has changed since 1989. That is a great point, but I have never heard Rose claim that he would not have agreed if he knew this rule change might come to pass. I do know that Rose appealed to the HOF in 2017 and the Hall heard his appeal and denied him an exemption. He had multiple hearings and made multiple pleas with MLB and the HOF over the years to have his fate changed. He is no victim. His made his arguments again and again. His actions and decisions were his own and his fate is as such. The HOF adopted the rule that it would not admit anyone who was banned from the game AFTER Pete agreed to his ban. The fact he bet ON the Reds should have been a larger mitigating factor. What exactly did he gain by signing the ban agreement? (honest question)It's such a shame that all that guy ever wanted was to be in the HOF but was completely shunned by baseball. Right with you. Great player. Also a complete idiot. I have no sympathy over the HoF thing. I watched Lone Star last night. Complex story that covers a lot in just over two hours. Kristofferson was great as the villain.

Another fine Kristofferson performance in an underrated (albeit weird) movie was Alan Rudolph's artsy neo noir Trouble In Mind.
All I could find was this (see below). I guess if he did not sign it, he would never have been allowed to even petition to get reinstated...What exactly did he gain by signing the ban agreement? (honest question)
