It was the latest road design craze when I worked in MD. Hate 'em. 4-way stop >>>>>>>>>>>>>> roundabout
Horrible posting - outside of having to deal woth some ####### morons who are confused by the concept it's superior in basically every way to a 4-way stop.

Agreed. Roundabouts can significantly improve traffic flow if 1) they are constructed at appropriate intersections and 2) people don't drive like morons. Same is true for Single Point Urban Interchanges

We have several examples of both near me and I am astounded daily how moronic drivers can't understand how to navigate them

 We recently moved to a neighborhood that has a roundabout/traffic circle and it is much better than a four way stop (three way stop in this case). Not a lot of traffic so its better than stopping when there isn't any other cars.

Roundabouts. There's one near my house right next to some railroad tracks, and if a train goes through, it snarls traffic for the next 20 minutes. Just put in stop signs, or a traffic light. There are two intersections within a half mile along that same stretch of tracks that have lights, and they do fine.
You live in Burlington, NJ? Cause I can think of a roundabout with a train going through there right over the bridge from PA.

South Florida. It's the Florida East Coast Railway, that runs from Miami to Jacksonville along the coast. Mostly one track, from what I've seen of it.

Gotcha. Just hadn't seen too many roundabouts with train tracks. I guess I should have figured there'd be more around the country.

I'd rather have a traffic light, just to stop the shenanigans I see from stupid people.

People driving with the convertible top down but the windows rolled up -- usually an older guy in a Mercedes convertible or a broad driving a Solara.

I've seen that on occasion, but have simply found it puzzling rather than annoying. What reason could they have for the top down, windows up look?

It's actually a lot like having a sun roof open at that point. You keep a pocket of air with the windows rolled up so you don't get nearly as much wind.

Weaving through traffic when you're traveling at least 10 mph faster than everyone else on the road. Especially since they never use their blinker.

Flashing your lights at someone who's in the fast lane and already outpacing traffic. The fact that you're apparently late to whatever it is you're doing isn't going to make me suddenly try to attract the local highway patrol's attention.

That SPUI gave me a headache trying to figure it out. It's no wonder nobody can navigate it.

Piece of cake if you just pay attention.

We've had this discussion already. If you're in the passing lane, move the #### over if someone is trying to pass you.

If we're side by side, with nowhere for me to go, because I'm already trying to pass, then they'll wait, or they should have left sooner.

Get out of the way, buddy.

It's just an elongated intersection. I think Keerok is pulling your leg saying people can't navigate it.

you're pretty much wrong on everything here, and if you're driving in the fast lane and someone needs to flash their lights to get you out of the way, you should lose your license.

No leg being pulled. I've seen people coming off the expressway and turn into oncoming traffic at least a dozen times. Stupid is as stupid does.

How about convertibles on a nice day, windows down, top up? If you want wind, put everything down.
I have a car with T-tops, and it's a pain always lugging them around when they are "off." Also, it could be, paranoid about rain, or slightly chilly and you'd like to keep the option available; if you don't know where or how long you'll end up somewhere. Also, if you are picking up someone else like a friend/gf/family member, you don't know what is comfortable for them, better safe than mildly annoyed at people who like to complain :P .

Ok, that makes sense. I've never had a convertible, so I had no knowledge of the issues facing owners.

If I'm doing 80 while passing someone, and they fly up behind me at 90 or better, flashing their lights as though they're trying to invoke some sort of epileptic fit, they deserve to lose their license. Especially if I have my children in the car. Leave sooner, or don't drive like a lunatic. Preferably both. Also, go back to whatever northeastern state you likely escaped from.

To quote P-Ditty: "Move, #####. Get out the way. Get out the way, #####. Get out the way."

Driving 80 and passing other cars with kids in the car.
I see what you did there. I could use the "I'm just going with the flow of traffic" but that would be an even more blatant lie on my part, and I realize that I'm in the wrong for staying in the fast lane. Fortunately, I avoid doing so very often.

Misattributing quotes to rappers.

To cut down on the wind and make it more comfortable on cooler days while still enjoying a wide open top.

you keep saying 'leave sooner' but wha if they just got the call and they need to deliver the meth in 20 minutes or the big deal with the fast food franchise manager is off?
