Adrian Peterson - Questionable (1 Viewer)

From CBS: News: NFL Network reports that the Vikings expect RB Adrian Peterson (hamstring) to play vs. Carolina in Week 3, barring any setbacks in warm-ups this morning. An official decision will be made after warm-ups.
So nothing new? Thanks for the varying source but when someone is Q they expect to play barring any setbacks before game time, hence the game time decision. I love CBS.

John Clayton on ESPN just said ADP has not come out on the field yet and is "Very Questionable".
<---------------- Taylor owner
Thanks for clarifying. We weren't sure if you were a Taylor owner when you posted a dozen dancing pickles after every bit of negative news about Peterson in all his threads this week. When all of your players get injured today, you'll know why.

Esera Tuaolo is his main stud.

 Stop wishing ill on Chester!!!:gets out all hoodo artifacts:

Can we please focus on just news on whether or not AP will play?

We already know that fantasy owners rooting for injuries are lowlifes. No sense in wishing them ill will in a thread pinned for legit news.

The inactive list should be out shortly here within the next 20 minutes.

Now, the question becomes how effective will he be with this injury, and how will the Vikings balance having to win this game vs. playing it safe and giving Chester Taylor the majority of carries.
What I wrote yesterday in the AD thread:
About the dreaded game-time decision... If they are truly worried about Peterson's ability to play, they won't waste a game day roster spot on him, so we'll see him on the inactive list. That will give us plenty of time to adjust our lineups accordingly. If he's NOT on the inactive list, I'm putting him in my lineup as they obviously feel good enough about the situation to play him.

With only Perry and Edge on my bench, I am starting him if they say he might get only 5 touches.

ESPN Now reporting he is on the field for warm ups, girl reporter even said he gave a little wave and a thumbs up!

ESPN reports that ADP will play today. ADP gave a thumbs up to the sideline reporter. He will start.

Damn.

Now I have to start Peterson over Julius Jones.

I was really hoping they would sit AP so I could start Jones against St.L without feeling guilty.

Guilt, gotta hate it.

ESPN Fantasy: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Adrian Peterson (hamstring) will be active for the Vikings in Week 3. Chester Taylor, though, is still expected to get "far more carries than the 4.5 he has averaged" per game thus far, according to the paper. We'll take that as an official word on ADP for now, and if it changes, will keep you updated. Expect closer to an even split of the carries between the two, but it's tough for a Peterson owner to reserve him if he's on the active roster. (11:39 a.m. ET)

Anybody else not taking the risk and playing Chester instead? I can't afford to have Peterson pulled an LT, play for a few series and then just disappear.

Naturally, he'll have a typical AP day because I'm doing it!

I'm with you...Peterson will go off because I'm going to start Chris Johnson instead!

FWIW, if it helps to see how another Peterson owner sees it, in two leagues I have Peterson:Starting him over ChesterBenching him for PortisIn other words, I'd bench him for a full time starter, but nothing less.

Would you bench him for Julius Jones??

"Far more" could mean 10-12 vs. AD's 18-22. It could mean a 50/50 split, but I'll take even that over every other RB in the league.

I have Perry. He is a full time starter. No way can I start him over AP.

Benching him for Portis

Considering Taylor was the Minny starter before last year and filled in admirably when AP got bit by the injury bug, wouldn't you consider him an exception to your rule?

In the league I'm starting him over Chester, I'm also starting him over Perry.

Sure. If I knew Taylor was a starter RB.Since he is backup up the guy who is starting today, by definition, he is not the full time starter.

I think since Peterson is active, he'll get the majority of carries, but we something like you mentioned. More rotations, more carries for Tayor, something like 10-15 for Taylor and 15 to 20 for Peterson...That's if Minnesota doesn't fall behind, and then we'd probably see more Taylor in the passing game.
