Tennessee Titans running back Adrian Peterson is expected to be the featured option against the Rams on Sunday. With Derrick Henry (foot) likely lost for the remainder of the year after he sustained a Jones Fracture during the Week 8 bout versus the Colts, Peterson was signed and immediately propelled to the active roster. Still, the veteran remains a risky option against a capable Los Angeles defense. However, Von Miller (ankle) isn't anticipated to make his debut after being traded from Denver, so Peterson's appeal as an upside value option in DFS contests is a bit higher, although not by much.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

In video, Ian Rapoport says he expects AP to get "substantial carries."

Debating AP or C. Hyde.

Leaning AP,  but fear Stafford hits three quick strikes to Kupp and company and he's useless. Would ruin my Sunday night.

Yep, that's exactly what we could get. Rolling dice cuz I pretty much have to. Peterson low bottom floor 40 yards and 4 points? Yet I keep hearing they will give Peterson carries. I would think they will stick with their game plan for at least 3 quarters. 70 yards, 2 catches for 15, and 1 TD would be nice. 

 
I'm going with AP over Herbert right now. No confidence situation gets cleared up before Monday. If it does and Montgomery plays then I'm sticking with AP. If it doesn't, AP. If before SNF Montgomery is ruled out then I play Herbert but I doubt that's going to happen.

Herbert could get little carries vs Steelers and I just think at this point if its a shared backfield, AP is the better play. At least I'll get to see how my score is with the early games before I make a decision but yeah... This is a most likely a low probability what the heck flex play for both.

Interesting.  I’m going Herbert over AP.  It is all guessing.

AP 10-21-1 1 reception for 5.

Mcnichols 7-24 rush 3-11 rec 

I hate triumvirates and seems like the offense had a hard time getting anything going. Game was all defense. AP seemed to get hit in the backfield every time and didn’t look all that great.

I'd agree. Was hoping to see more of and from Peterson. Looks like a 3 man RBBC at this point. I'll give it a little time though as Peterson has been with the team for only 5-6 days (but, then again, so has Foreman)

 
10 carries was good...obviously the production not so much.  Salvaged by the TD.  

Going to hold another week to see how this plays out.

 
Anyone expecting a big game by a guy who was on his couch at home without a playbook this time last week was throwing coins into a wishing well. Particularly given they were facing the Rams. 

Foreman being picked up definitely took a chunk out of ADP's potential, but I think he gets going better this coming week.

New Orleans can be stout against the run as well. So I still wouldn’t drop after next week if it’s another dud. 

The foreman thing really throws a wrench in this production. He may even be the cream that rises. 
 

But I’m not here to argue who’s better, I’m just pointing out next week is another test that may not tell us too much.

 
It's hard to imagine you can expect much more from Peterson.  Watching the game last night he looked like he was running in mud compared to Foreman and McNichols

He will probably get the tds though...

Tough matchup. Found the endzone. Actually ran a wildcat play and caught a pass. That in itself is all a bit surprising for a guy just off the street.

Going to hold off judgement until after the NO game (another tough matchup) and maybe even the following week in his first solid matchup vs. HOU. That's when the schedule eases up.

All three RBs should be held for a couple of weeks to see this play out.   Foreman looks to be the better back at the moment and may come out on top but it’s early in the process for AP.  

 
I wasn’t impressed by any of them,  but one could emerge from the quagmire. 

the TD saved AP’s day - can’t count on that every week. He didn’t get a lot of YAC, but he did elude a couple of tackles in the backfield to turn a 1-2 yard loss into a 2 yard gain. Didn’t look pretty in the stat line, but it was basically AP doing AP things. Not peak AP things, but certainly no worse than Lions AP things.

At this point in the season you would be crazy to let any viable rb go unless you are on a very short bench.  This backfield is a work in progress but of the 3 I think he looked the worst.  

 
The guy has been there less than a week and gets thrown into two tough matchups out of the gate. I would either hold on the bench if you are deep at RB or start him if you are short at RB.

 
The guy was on the couch a week ago. Gets thrown to the wolves with two tough matchups off the bat. The fact that he’s been there less than a week and led the team in carries is pretty remarkable (and probably speaks to the dire circumstances of the Titans RB room). I have no idea why Tenn didn’t make a move for a RB at the deadline, as they are clearly playing like a contender right now. But the fact is that they didn’t, and one of these RBs is going to have value down the stretch. Given the competition, my money is still on AP. But it’s most advisable to let him sit on your bench until this situation sorts itself out.

Do they get any of their O-line back? Biggest problem is penetration in backfield which makes him look bad cause he pretty much gets all the inside runs and Foreman gets to run away from the pentration and take outside runs / screens.

Do agree with Waldman that he still gets the meaningful carries and is making good moves despite not appearing on box score and that they are limiting his carries because he hasn't participated in any preseason / practice / etc all year and should get increases as time goes on.

I personally listen to Matt Waldman with a very serious ear. I think he's got a blind spot on this one. Peterson looks terrible, Foreman at least looks somewhat passable. 

He just looks slow to the naked eye. I'm not sure what Waldman is missing, or if the naked and untrained eye is just wrong. I'm not so sure in this case that it is. 

 
I picked up Peterson thinking he was going to be the guy, not sure any are now.  I just dropped him when I realized if I couldn't start him this week when will I ever start him?

Yeah, I mean he's been wrong in the past so wouldn't be new but his video analysis of the plays at least sounds reasonable. Where he has failed with Sermon in the past was that what he thinks is a good talent may not be necessarily match with what the offense wants to do and builds their team around.

Rather than AP looking poor, I think maybe they just aren't an inside running team this year and these screens and outside runs become their bread and butter and AP continues to look terrible all year because he maybe doesn't have enough speed at this age to run outside and the o-line doesn't have the talent to make the interior runs work.

Put me in the camp that he looks terrible, old and slow.  Foreman is the only viable back in that backfield.  He might get a td here and there and I'm sure tennessee just wants 3 yards and pile of dust sometimes but this guy isn't going anywhere.

My level of expertise means I sort of have to cede the possibility that AP is just fine and not washed, and he simply doesn't fit the system or what the offense does well. My eyes, on the other hand, are telling me a different story.

Makes sense. I just try really hard not to overreact to one or two games and draw out conclusions on players. Especiailly when its their first 2 games playing in over a year. Plenty of players start off slow and pick things up as games progress and after many people write them off. People are just so quick to draw conclusions and then immediately change their mind once one good game happens. Illogical to me that people can't see multiple scenarios and think they know everything until they don't. 

AP could possibly not happen this year but I see a route where he could so I think he's worth holding. All a crap shoot anyway.

Titans waived RB Adrian Peterson.

The 36-year-old veteran was waived to make room for Dontrell Hilliard, who led the backfield with 82 yards on 15 touches against Houston, on the 53-man roster. Assuming he does not latch on to the team's practice squad upon clearing waivers, Peterson's tenure with the Titans come to a close with 27/82/1 rushing for 3.04 yards per carry. It could also signify the end of his illustrious career in the NFL.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports free agent RB Adrian Peterson is visiting Seattle today.

Peterson played three games for the Titans before the team waived him last week. He ran 27 times at a sluggish three yards per carry. Chris Carson is done for the year while Rashaad Penny and Travis Homer were both inactive last week because of injuries. That left Alex Collins, DeeJay Dallas, and practice squad call-up Josh Johnson on the active roster. Collins has looked like the standard backup this year, running at just under four yards per carry and topping 100 yards once in six starts. A Peterson signing would remove all fantasy value from the backfield, assuming the two split Seattle's carries.

Seahawks signed Adrian Peterson to their practice squad.

Peterson visited with Seattle earlier today and things obviously went well as Pete Carroll announced his signing a few hours later. Peterson will join the team's practice squad and be called up in short order. He was elevated to the Titans' active roster during the same week that he signed with the team. Peterson rushed 27 times for 82 yards with the Titans and was waived after three games. He will likely turn the Seattle backfield into a committee, making both him and Alex Collins easy fades in all fantasy formats.

Yes. He’s had several lawsuits for millions of dollars against him and his lawyer has said that he is essentially broke after “ trusting the wrong people“. 

 
Sorry but I'm done with this guy even if others are not. If someone is looking for a dart throw I'd trust either Ameer Abdullah or Jermar Jefferson over him.

He’s also less than 400 yards away from overtaking Barry on the All Time leading rushers list so some motivation there maybe to sign with teams with an easy path to starting.

I think hes like 8 million in debt. Not that he will ever get that playing football. Maybe he gets more pension money if he plays more? :shrug:  

I think he can still play but he needs a team that will give it to him 25 times a game. He (and so many other backs) have always been a guy who can wear down the defense and get those huge runs late. Thats never going to happen though. 

 
Stranger things have happened, but if he can't run behind the line in Tennessee, not sure how he's going to fare in the offensive shamble of the Seahawks these days.

 
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said it is realistic Adrian Peterson could play this week against the 49ers. 

Peterson played just a few days after signing with the Titans earlier this season, so it is not out of the realm of possibilities he is able to suit up. Working against him, however, is a backfield that looks suddenly healthy. Alex Collins (abdomen), Rashaad Penny (hamstring), and Travis Homer (calf) are all officially questionable but look likely to play. If all three are healthy, it is possible the Seahawks let Peterson sit on the practice squad another week.
