Alan Rickman Dead at 69 (1 Viewer)

Unfortunately Mr Takagi won't be joining us for the rest of his life.

If you ever get a chance I recommend that you watch Die Hard with some Germans. They don't know the bad guys are German and their reactions are quite comical.

Are we sure he didn't just steal $600 million and faked his death so nobody will look for him? :sadbanana:

Could you elaborate please.?
My wife's family is from Germany and her Godson and a few of his friends were visiting about 10 years ago. We were watching TV when Die Hard came on. During the movie they heard a German phrase and one of them said, "They are German?" and his buddy replied, "No, they are Russian" and just after that we hear very loud and clear "schnell" and our guests were all shocked - "OMG, they ARE German!", "How can they be German?"

The German dubbed version makes them Eastern European.

Next thing you are going to tell me is that Russians didn't think Sean Connery was believable as a Russion sub boat captain.

Some men are born in the wrong century. I think I was born on the wrong continent. Oh, by the way, you're fired

I'm guessing but minimum I've seen Die Hard at least twice a year since it came out in '88...

I'll say 50 times I've watched the original Die Hard, mainly because the villain is a bad ### never to be repeated. I'm sure many in here, well over 100 times.

As much as I enjoy Malkovich in the role in the movie, I'll always regret that I was just a few years too late to see Rickman play Valmont in the stage production of Dangerous Liaisons. That would have been most excellent.

God? Lonely. But funny. He's got a great sense of humor. Take sex for example. There's nothing funnier than the faces you people make mid-coitus

Favorite story from Die Hard production

For the shot where Hans Gruber falls from the top of the building, Alan Rickman was actually falling from a 21-foot high model. He was holding on to a stunt man and falling on to an air bag. To get the right reaction, the stunt man dropped Rickman on the count of two, not three.
RIP

Did they find it offensive?

Sometimes during lunch I look at my FB feed. Today it's filled with women (most of them actresses) decrying "the tragedy of losing the craftsman who was so perfectly cast in Sense and Sensibility."

Not to be all misogynistic but AYFKM? Seriously, we could talk about Rickman for weeks and that piece of trash would never come up.

Hans: The following people are to be released from their captors: In Northern Ireland, the seven members of the New Provo Front. In Canada, the five imprisoned leaders of Liberte de Quebec. In Sri Lanka, the nine members of the Asian Dawn movement...

Karl: Asian Dawn?

Hans: I read about them in Time magazine.

Will miss him. RIP Alan (and Hans).
