Somewhat surprised this thread is still going. Nothing really interesting or relevant about this story IMO.
This is trueI don't care, jack donaughy will go down as one of the funniest characters ever.
Yeah, those writers sure made him entertaining, didn't they?I don't care, jack donaughy will go down as one of the funniest characters ever.
Now in the interest of fairness someone still has to make the words work. Baldwin killed as Donaughy. More than just the writers at work there.Yeah, those writers sure made him entertaining, didn't they?I don't care, jack donaughy will go down as one of the funniest characters ever.![]()

Oh he is an ####### for sure. This charmer is at it again.
First, he used a gay slur in an aggressive manner at a stranger on the street, which got him kicked off of his cable news show, at least temporarily.
And then he got in the face of a female reporter because said reporter asked his wife a question on the street, and Baldwin went ballistic, even trying to get her arrested.
What a great guy he is.![]()

I was discussing this at work. When you stop to think about the term "####-sucker" and break it down to what it actually means and what the term's likely origins are, calling a guy a ####-sucker does suggest that you're hinting that the guy being addressed is gay and that being gay is a negative thing. But when being thrown around among guys, I don't think people intend ####-sucker as an anti-gay slur. They're just tossing out a term that they know infuriates without giving much thought about what that term means. Mother####er is similar.First, he used a gay slur in an aggressive manner at a stranger on the street, which got him kicked off of his cable news show, at least temporarily.

Oh. I just did a search and I'm now seeing the ###### part. ######, to a lesser degree, has that "lost its meaning, just to infuriate" quality, but when you couple ###### with ####-sucker it's kind of hard to argue that it's not anti-gay.I thought he added the fagg*t on the end of it?So he said cocksucking fagg*t.I was discussing this at work. It's the same business model as Fox. Of course they're that desperate for ratings. Now that Martin Bashir and his comments are out in the open can anyone remember anything worse than what he said going to broadcast that was scripted that way?
It clearly wasn't a mistake or a oops moment for Bashir,it was being read off of his monitor.
I have been racking my brain trying to think of anything worse but I really can't think of anything. He did make an apology his next broadcast but he somehow kept his job.I guess they really are that desperate for ratings?
I don't normally watch either but I can't ever recall Fox going that far before(or at least it was never brought to my attention). It's the same business model as Fox. No, MSNBC producers just know what their audience wants. Bashir was never at a threat of losing his job because a high enough percentage of MSNBc viewers don't mind comments about defecating in Sarah Palin's mouth. Now that Martin Bashir and his comments are out in the open can anyone remember anything worse than what he said going to broadcast that was scripted that way?

Well, Nancy Pelosi is a powerful figure in Congress and has been for years and Sarah Palin is an air-headed hairdo who is a punchline with no power to speak of. Yeah, I am pretty sure Al Sharpton and Martin Brashir (see: two liberal dopes) didn't come from the same place Sean Hannity and Elizabeth Hasselbeck (see: two conservative dopes) came from.Must use the same employment agency Fox does.Jeez, between those two and Al Sharpton, they really know how to hire them over there at MSNBC, don't they?At least MSNBC seems to like to employ these types of people with Martin Bashir wanting to ##### in Sarah Palins mouth.![]()
True. but I think the beef some on the right would have is the left shouted from the rooftops last year about the GOP's supposed War on Women, yet here is a man saying something like that about a woman, and liberals are clamming up and not calling him out. But had it been a conservative man saying that about a prominent liberal woman, he would be getting crucified everywhere and there is no way he would have kept his job.Well, Nancy Pelosi is a powerful figure in Congress and has been for years and Sarah Palin is an air-headed hairdo who is a punchline with no power to speak of. Yeah, I don't think I understand Apple Jack's distinction. Like most liberals, I don't give a **** about MSNBC. I don't watch it. Not a lot of people watch MSNBC. That might have something to do with it. I also think there are plenty on the right who would like to #### in Sarah Palin's mouth, too. Sure seems like he changed his tune on him saying fat head.I would like to address the comments I made this past week.
I did not intend to hurt or offend anyone with my choice of words, but clearly I have – and for that I am deeply sorry. Words are important. I understand that, and will choose mine with great care going forward. What I said and did this week, as I was trying to protect my family, was offensive and unacceptable. Behavior like this undermines hard-fought rights that I vigorously support. I understand “Up Late” will be taken off the schedule for tonight and next week.
I want to apologize to my loyal fans and to my colleagues at msnbc – both for my actions and for distracting from their good work. Again, please accept my apology.

Moving dangerously into tim territory with that comment. He donates every penny he receives from Capital One to charity and requires the CEO of COF to match it. Say what you will about Baldwin, but that sort of altruism doesn't get reported by the media when it should. You want assault his character, fine. But know that he's doing some good in the world too.
yeah. He also deleted his tweets where he proclaimed he had "acoustic analysis" that would confirm he said "fat head". I heard about it when Howard Stern asked him why a star at his level does CC commercials. Honestly, this is far less impressive to me when you're talking about a celebrity who's making eight figures every year. What's Capital One paying him, and is he really missing that salary?
For a guy like this that sounds more like the sort of thing his PR team suggested he do so that he can cite it when he's being a ##### (again) rather than some truly altruistic gesture.

Face it - you're grasping for reasons to defend an actor you like.
