Alec Baldwin at it again (1 Viewer)

I don't care, jack donaughy will go down as one of the funniest characters ever.
Yeah, those writers sure made him entertaining, didn't they? :coffee:
Now in the interest of fairness someone still has to make the words work. Baldwin killed as Donaughy. More than just the writers at work there.
I think we've recently seen how important the writing is, no?
Well certainly a writer would have been helpful in this case.

This charmer is at it again.

First, he used a gay slur in an aggressive manner at a stranger on the street, which got him kicked off of his cable news show, at least temporarily.

And then he got in the face of a female reporter because said reporter asked his wife a question on the street, and Baldwin went ballistic, even trying to get her arrested.

What a great guy he is.

Oh he is an ####### for sure.

He donates every penny he receives from Capital One to charity and requires the CEO of COF to match it. Say what you will about Baldwin, but that sort of altruism doesn't get reported by the media when it should. You want assault his character, fine. But know that he's doing some good in the world too.

I was discussing this at work. When you stop to think about the term "####-sucker" and break it down to what it actually means and what the term's likely origins are, calling a guy a ####-sucker does suggest that you're hinting that the guy being addressed is gay and that being gay is a negative thing. But when being thrown around among guys, I don't think people intend ####-sucker as an anti-gay slur. They're just tossing out a term that they know infuriates without giving much thought about what that term means. Mother####er is similar.

Either way the dude has some serious issues.

I guess he did lose his talk show, which was probably an act of mercy, but it is kind of weird that he's given so much more rope than Paula Deen or something.

Oh. I just did a search and I'm now seeing the ###### part. ######, to a lesser degree, has that "lost its meaning, just to infuriate" quality, but when you couple ###### with ####-sucker it's kind of hard to argue that it's not anti-gay.

Alec, as we know, is kind of a madman.

At least MSNBC seems to like to employ these types of people with Martin Bashir wanting to ##### in Sarah Palins mouth.

Yeah, but Paula Deen is a repulsive pig responsible for encouraging stupid people to get diabetes, who decided to then get sponsored by a diabetes medication manufacturer. She is in that rare air reserved for special folks like Melissa Bachman and Pol Pot.

Now that Martin Bashir and his comments are out in the open can anyone remember anything worse than what he said going to broadcast that was scripted that way?

It clearly wasn't a mistake or a oops moment for Bashir,it was being read off of his monitor.

I have been racking my brain trying to think of anything worse but I really can't think of anything. He did make an apology his next broadcast but he somehow kept his job.I guess they really are that desperate for ratings?

It's the same business model as Fox. Of course they're that desperate for ratings.

I don't normally watch either but I can't ever recall Fox going that far before(or at least it was never brought to my attention).

I mean seriously, wanting to #### in her mouth?

Let's say Sean Hannity says he wants to #### in Nancy Pelosi's mouth on air.Do you think he keeps his job?

No, MSNBC producers just know what their audience wants. Bashir was never at a threat of losing his job because a high enough percentage of MSNBc viewers don't mind comments about defecating in Sarah Palin's mouth.

I'm not sure if I should be :lmao: or :( at your reply but somehow I think you're spot on with it.

Well, Nancy Pelosi is a powerful figure in Congress and has been for years and Sarah Palin is an air-headed hairdo who is a punchline with no power to speak of. Not exactly apples to apples there.

Jeez, between those two and Al Sharpton, they really know how to hire them over there at MSNBC, don't they? :lmao:
Must use the same employment agency Fox does.
Yeah, I am pretty sure Al Sharpton and Martin Brashir (see: two liberal dopes) didn't come from the same place Sean Hannity and Elizabeth Hasselbeck (see: two conservative dopes) came from.

True. but I think the beef some on the right would have is the left shouted from the rooftops last year about the GOP's supposed War on Women, yet here is a man saying something like that about a woman, and liberals are clamming up and not calling him out. But had it been a conservative man saying that about a prominent liberal woman, he would be getting crucified everywhere and there is no way he would have kept his job.

Yeah, I don't think I understand Apple Jack's distinction. Like most liberals, I don't give a **** about MSNBC. I don't watch it. But I'm comfortable saying that no purported news network should hire a guy who says/tweets/whatevers something like that.

Not a lot of people watch MSNBC. That might have something to do with it. I also think there are plenty on the right who would like to #### in Sarah Palin's mouth, too. So there's that.

Haha, that's true. I just wonder if anyone takes her seriously anymore, outside of extreme Tea Party folks. When she talks, I want to rip my ears off and throw them at her.

Pick whoever you want as your target for Sean to drop a deuce into her mouth then.

Does he still keep his job?

And this is not me defending Sarah Palin because I think she a loon but more about a broadcaster who scripted(and apparently was approved by his producers)to say what he did.

And here was his apology

I would like to address the comments I made this past week.

I did not intend to hurt or offend anyone with my choice of words, but clearly I have – and for that I am deeply sorry. Words are important. I understand that, and will choose mine with great care going forward. What I said and did this week, as I was trying to protect my family, was offensive and unacceptable. Behavior like this undermines hard-fought rights that I vigorously support. I understand “Up Late” will be taken off the schedule for tonight and next week.

I want to apologize to my loyal fans and to my colleagues at msnbc – both for my actions and for distracting from their good work. Again, please accept my apology.

Sure seems like he changed his tune on him saying fat head.

Say what you will about Baldwin, but that sort of altruism doesn't get reported by the media when it should. You want assault his character, fine. But know that he's doing some good in the world too.
Moving dangerously into tim territory with that comment.

yeah. He also deleted his tweets where he proclaimed he had "acoustic analysis" that would confirm he said "fat head". Turns out people didn't really believe him and started hating him even more.

Well... you knew about it, right?

Honestly, this is far less impressive to me when you're talking about a celebrity who's making eight figures every year. What's Capital One paying him, and is he really missing that salary?

For a guy like this that sounds more like the sort of thing his PR team suggested he do so that he can cite it when he's being a ##### (again) rather than some truly altruistic gesture.

I heard about it when Howard Stern asked him why a star at his level does CC commercials. He said because he would get endorsement offers like that and decided to take advantage of it for charity.

Just because he's type-A with a raging temper doesn't mean he's a publicity whore with no soul.

It also doesn't rule it out.

Face it - you're grasping for reasons to defend an actor you like.

Yeah, but I knew about it because I have a friend who's a muckity muck at COF. Media didn't let me know.

I don't really care about Baldwin one way or the other as I think 30 Rock is dumb and haven't really watched a movie of his in years. But I like that he donates a lot of money to charity, no matter how insignificant it is to his bottom line. I also like that he requires COF to match his contribution. If his PR was making him do this, they should be fired as his gestures of altruism are drowned out by his boneheaded moves.

Well, Nancy Pelosi is a powerful figure in Congress and has been for years and Sarah Palin is an air-headed hairdo who is a punchline with no power to speak of. Not exactly apples to apples there.
Pick whoever you want as your target for Sean to drop a deuce into her mouth then.

Does he still keep his job?

And this is not me defending Sarah Palin because I think she a loon but more about a broadcaster who scripted(and apparently was approved by his producers)to say what he did.
I don't watch these channels, because this is essentially what they do everyday, just with different language. It's a pissing (and apparently pooping) contest. I couldn't care less what any of them do or say. Would he keep his job? I have no idea.
Are you actually defending Bashir? And to equate MSNBC as having the same business model is outright :lmao:

That's just an excuse to pooh-pooh some very disgusting behavior. You're basically saying that it's okay because it SEEMS like something Fox would say (even though they never have) so it's okay for the other guy to do it.

He donates every penny he receives from Capital One to charity and requires the CEO of COF to match it. Say what you will about Baldwin, but that sort of altruism doesn't get reported by the media when it should. You want assault his character, fine. But know that he's doing some good in the world too.
Well... you knew about it, right?

I'm defending a person I like.
