Inbox is too confusing. Who wants to spend time grouping emails and having to open different groups of emails. Still prefer the clean email app that comes with my phone.
I used Inbox for a few days and deleted it. I'm not a huge email sender so it just was too confusing trying to figure out where it grouped my emails and such. I can see the use for heavy email users, but for someone like me, the regular Gmail app works just fine.

I am still using both... my preference is for Gmail, but I am a big fan of being able to snooze things in Inbox. I can not see myself doing that for much longer though.

NEW GMAIL JUST UPDATED ON PLAY STORE

What a happy day!!!!!

This material design movement is so sweet. And gmail is just... Damn
Soulfly, I appreciate your contributions to this thread. They have been very helpful. I'm a little concerned about you though, like maybe you're a little too excited about some of this google stuff.

When you look at p orn on your phone, is it actually just like a widget on your home screen? New calendar feature?

Love theScore! Any word on when they'll have a material design out?

All good. Just think it's kind of funny.

I found nova launcher to be a hog. This was a couple years ago though. Just sucked my battery
Battery definitely worse today. Have a ####load of widgets though.
A trick I heard years ago (while using a different launcher on a different phone) was to make sure all widgets on the default, unused, launcher were disabled.

ETA: no idea if it will help, but I've always done that as a result when I use an alternate launcher.

#######! I missed HTC's Nexus 9 flash sale :hot:

on the plus side, Google Voice MMS has been reported to work with Verizon now, which means it should work on all major US carries.

So there's that

P.S. double :hot:
They only sold 200, more than likely you weren't going to get one.

wait, we can get MMS through hangouts now?
?

Been getting mms for ages
tried it end of last year on my htc one m7 and they didn't come through. guess i'll give it another shot. Would really like to switch to hangouts and forget all about the native messaging app

I got the gmail update. Really like it. The only thing i don't like. I added my yahoo account which is mostly junk but it brings up the full email but it's so small. Is there a way to increase the size

eta: forgot about the double tap zoom snaps it . Still smaller than in the stock app but getting used to it

I got the gmail update. Outside of color changes, and the add button, what is the difference. What am I missing

Also know about tapping on a different account and it taking you there.

I have always loved the app, just not sure what the excitement is

I wonder how our Canadianed Nexus warrior reacted to the fact that a non-nexus device was the first to receive the Lollipop OTA?

They need a select all option in the new gmail. I use that feature in the stock mail client a lot

Soak tests are nothing new. Did the same w KitKat and Jellybean too if Im not mistaken.

Nexus will still bw the first line to get an Official Lollipop release

You mean like select multiple emails? Just tap the icon on the left.
no like a check mark at the top that selects every email.I would select all , mark as read.

in gmail I have to select each individually even though I can select multiple

eta: my bad i meant a select all option

I keep my auto update permissions off, and haven't updated anything for a while...reading this thread, I updated a bunch of apps including Google Maps, Gmail, Textra, aCalendar and a bunch of others...

Maps is finally pretty awesome again, I had been using 6.14.4 for the past year...the latest Google Earth is pretty sweet too.

Anyone know what is causing 4.4.2 and above to constantly wake up even when the screen is off. When i check usage stats the device is waking intermittently (like every minute or two) throughout the entire night. While it's not doing to much damage to the battery level, it's still incredibly annoying. I've turned off location, sync, and auto updating and none of those did the trick.

U should turn it to auto-update over WiFi.

FYI Verizon just started selling their 10gb data tier for the price of the 8gb. I think they actually got rid of the 8gb plan.

So AT&T rolled out the Kit Kat update to S3 owners in June. Mine rolled out today. 5 ####### months later.

So done with this company.

I'm warming up to google now and the okay google assitant, it is pretty convenient!
Love Google Now. Wife was away on a bizz trip. Emailed me her flight data. It was then displayed on my google now page and I could check all of her flight data and actually track her plane while it was on its way back to Philly.
