Which company?
AT&T. They stagger the rollout, but 5 months?
do you occasionally check for updates with the About Phone feature under settings?

Do you have Samsung Kies to check for updates?

Some of this is on you bro
I checked regularly back in June and July then forgot about it. I'm going to switch anyway - ATT is ridiculously expensive. For the three of us I can go to Cricket and pay $100 less a month for better plans.

What plan do you have? Im on AT&T and pay $65 a month for unlimited talk/text and 2GB of data a month (which I never use because I'm almost always on WiFi).I think they now have the same plan w/3GB for $70 but I'm fine with my plan as is for now.

So AT&T rolled out the Kit Kat update to S3 owners in June. Mine rolled out today. 5 ####### months later.

So done with this company.
This is why I root and load a ROM of my choosing. Been running a KitKat ROM on my S3 since spring.I just bought an S4 on eBay yesterday though (have had my S3 for 2 years)...read yesterday that the S4 will be getting Lollipop in early 2015, so I'll use it for a bit while I think about my next phone (leaning towards a Note)

Went back to Google Maps 6.14.4

The new one doesn't have the distance tool, -+ zoom buttons, and its too much work finding a route between 2 points on the map (which I use almost every night).

It looks awesome but the UI has been muddled up. I'll stick with the older version.

Google Messenger App is live in the playstore. Just a clean, snappy, and pretty nice looking sms/mms app. Using it and it's great so far. Gonna stick w it for sms from here on out

Sprint also just announced that Lollipop will be rolled out today, on their website... Ill believe it when I see it.

I just pushed the factory image on my Nexus 7

P.S. I am almost Soulfy-level excited about the new Google Keyboard update that was pushed today... almost.

I've been using Hangouts since it integrated SMS. Why should I switch?

I rarely use video chat. May have to go back to Messenger. I've noticed too that Hangouts seems to take awhile to load anymore.

Looks like all the devices bar the Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 mobile data version are getting the updates as we speak.

will roll out over the next few days... some will get it today

I like Hangouts because you get all the benefits of the non-sms messengers if the recipient is on Hangouts also, but it falls back to SMS automatically when they're not.

That means if they're also using hangouts you can send/receive the messages on a computer, you can see when they've read the message and when they're typing a reply, etc. Oh yea, and you get proper group convos as well.

And if they're not on Hangouts, no big deal it works like regular SMS anyway so it's not like you're sacrificing anything for those benefits (compared to most non-sms applications where, if they don't have it, you can't talk to them).

Your link worked. I meant when I was searching the play store.

As for the app. I like it, looks just like the new GMail.

I obviously don't use my phone like you guys :)

don't you have to create a plus account for Google hangouts? Or always log in?

Installed the factory image on my nexus 5 today. Really appreciating the iOS-like lock screen notifications.

Thoughts on the new Google calender?

Love it, aside from no 7 day week view, which im sure will be adjusted in an update.

Welp I didn't realize the S4 has a locked bootloader...so I just bought it and I'm gonna sell it. For now I updated the KitKat ROM I've been running on my S3.

Thinking about a Google phone. What's the latest somewhat affordable one? I remember they had one that came unlocked for around $350 last year. Anything around that price worth looking at?

I have been seeing some good deals on the 2013 Moto x which is a nice phone. Pretty much stock android. Going in the 250 range. Always good to check slickdeals for prices/deals.

Have not read all that much in here...been with the GSIII for 2 years and will likely upgrade either around Christmas...or March/April around my Birthday.

What all is out there...vs what is coming out (likely the GS6 in Aprilish?)???

Just upgraded by launch GS3 for the Note 4 and love it. Would take a hard look at the OnePlus One if I were you.

Anyone use Nova with the Tesla Unread Counter. My counter is not working for email on my Note 4. Very irritating.

Edit: finally got this to work. User error i guess. :shakeshead:

2013 Moto X Developer Edition for $249

HTC One M7Unlocked for $329
Nice. Got some comparing to do.

Upgraded my S3 to the latest Cyanogen ROM (CM11 M12)...my phone hasn't been this fast since it was new.

CM12 (Lollipop) should be released by the end of Nov.
