Why wouldn't you use Google's own calendar app, which I imagine comes preloaded on the Pixel? I personally love the experience of pure Android over something as bloated as TouchWiz.Now I know why people ask for calendar apps and such. The Samsung TouchWiz stuff has all that built in
Have you adjusted the text size in the display options? The older I get the more thankful I am for that.More random thoughts. The text on this website is so tiny.
It's not true 5.5 inch for all apps. SOme don't take away the button bar but others do
I have. Most of the stuff looks good but this website is still so smallHave you adjusted the text size in the display options? The older I get the more thankful I am for that.
I should rephrase. Google calendar widget is horrible. The one I had was a month view on a full screen. It looks great when I click on the calendar but I want the widget to be month view. Can't seem to get that. I resized to full screen but it's still a daily viewWhy wouldn't you use Google's own calendar app, which I imagine comes preloaded on the Pixel? Okay, that makes much more sense, and I agree that the GCal widget sucks. This one looks pretty good https://play.google.com/store/search?q=calendar widget&hl=en (the first one)I should rephrase. I roll with the Event Flow Widget for my calendar widgets (I use two - full screen agenda, and (mostly) full screen month widget)Okay, that makes much more sense, and I agree that the GCal widget sucks. This one looks pretty good https://play.google.com/store/search?q=calendar widget&hl=en
How do you make the widget month view?I actually love the Google Calendar widget. Shows everything I have going on for the month (in month view) and with a quick touch takes me to the full month calendar view. Those other widgets are a bit tougher to read and then clicking on the event I want to look at can be cumbersome.
When I say month view... It doesnt look like a paper calendar month. It only shows the events/days for the current month. Sorry about thatHow do you make the widget month view?
Have you tried Inbox? I love thatEmail app?
Running my non Gmail emails in Gmail sucks.
I tried Blue Mail and liked it okay. Opted against it because my personal and work emails are all via Gmail.Email app?

There is a virtual home button. So far pretty close to the same for me....I thinkHow big of a difference is it having a software home button. That's what I'm dreading in will miss most about the note.

The only feeds I care about are the weather, commute (this is my favorite for the traffic alerts), and places. I have the rest turned off. I gave up caring about the Big Brother aspect of technology long ago, its a fight you cant win.Ok after spending more time I'm really starting to dig the phone however I'm not thrilled with all the big brother stuff that Google has that it's sort of like apple has . I gotta turn on a bunch of stuff like the cards and feeds to get a couple of the options that I want but overall I don't like the feeds. and my other complaint is the os feels a little unstable as in options I select ed sometimes work and not work if that makes sense
I suppose you are right. I'll have to spend more time with it, I suppose. The only feeds I care about are the weather, commute (this is my favorite for the traffic alerts), and places. Not sure of the set up on the Pixel but on the 6P my Google Now Feed is a swipe left of my main home screen. I do not find it intrusive at all. What are your issues with it?I suppose you are right. I'll have to spend more time with it, I suppose.
That's how this is but I turned it off.Not sure of the set up on the Pixel but on the 6P my Google Now Feed is a swipe left of my main home screen. I do not find it intrusive at all. What are your issues with it?
. I am pretty "basic" and plain with how I like my phone.
. I am pretty "basic" and plain with how I like my phone. So you are turning certain notifications off in your feed but are still getting them? I would like the ability to organize my app drawer. I am with you, I dont like a lot of clutter on my home screen. I now have 4 folders on the bottom of my screen with my most used apps. That's how this is but I turned it off.
However I had to turn on the feeds to get weather to work on the home screen. I just never liked it. I always felt I would change setting and notifications to be off. Then I would end up with stuff in my feed again and get notified.. I am pretty "basic" and plain with how I like my phone.
One thing I don't like is the inability to customize the app drawer. I'm used to putting folders in the app drawer. For example I put all Amazon apps in a folder. I can make folders on the home screens but I don't like a lot of clutter. I'm an app drawer guy ?
Three line button on the upper left of the Google Now Screen - Your Feed - Commute and Time to Leave (Turn this On)How do I add traffic back into the feed. I added my address, put driving for transportation down etc.
I don't have that. Not sure if it's because I'm on 7.1 or the new assistantThree line button on the upper left of the Google Now Screen - Your Feed - Commute and Time to Leave (Turn this On)
Thanks.I think things like traffic only pop up on Now when they are relevant.
Lol feels light to me but a sturdy light...unsureGot my Spigen case yesterday and my Pixel XL today. Will try to activate over lunch. Initial impression is that the phone is heavy, but comfortably heavy if that makes any sense.
Yeah, heavy probably wasn't the right way to describe it. Sturdy is probably the better word I was looking for.Lol feels light to me but a sturdy light...unsure
Is this something you can resolve on your own? This would be a deal breaker for me with Fi.So far digging the Pixel. I used it pretty extensively on Saturday (streaming audio while working in the yard, an epic Candy Crush run and just wanting to keep playing with it) and went to bed with 30% battery still left. Haven't used it as much today and currently still have 65% left. So the battery has been nice. The camera is super quick with some great pics and the video stabilization worked really well. The screen is beautiful. The fingerprint sensor has worked flawlessly.
The only issue I've had is that today I wasn't able to make or receive calls. Contacted Fi support and they were able to fix it in a matter of minutes (service outage in my area that required switching carriers).
Obviously a way too early review but after 2.5 days I'm happy.
I've only had Fi for 2 days so maybe someone that has used it more often, like @Buddy Ball 2K3 can confirm. Is this something you can resolve on your own? This would be a deal breaker for me with Fi.

The only issue myself or anyone on my new group plan (I have employees on it) has had with service was when we were out of country. We would not have service and would have to select the actual carrier. Fi support didn't mention this the first try and finally did this past time when we had someone in Canada.I've only had Fi for 2 days so maybe someone that has used it more often, like @Buddy Ball 2K3 can confirm.
Support gave me a code to dial which would switch carriers if one has an outage. It connected me to TMobile (I was on US Cellular at the time). Not sure how accurate it is, or how many codes there are, because the follow up email I received said I could use that code "anytime there is an outage with Sprint"
That being said, I also downloaded an app called Fi Info (There are others but I just grabbed this one to start with). It tells you which carrier and what Wifi signal you are currently connected to. There is an option to switch carriers but I haven't tried it yet.
