Having spent some time with the Moto E4 and Moto G6 Play, I can say Moto is really doing well with the cheap phones, particularly if you are on Verizon or want a phone compatible for all carriers. Xiaomi, Nokia, and Honor seem to have some great cheap phones, but best I can tell, the Moto phones are the main sub $200 phones that work on Verizon (or $250 for the regular G6).
The G6 Play is a great size (5.7 with the tall skinny 18:9 thing), has a huge battery (4000 mAh), and the fingerprint scanner seems perfectly located. It's underpowered and doesn't do well at all on on the geek tests, but for day to day use, it's fine. I don't notice any lagging for scrolling/watching videos, and the 720 screen doesn't bother me at all (and if it means 3 days on a single charge, I probably prefer it). Camera ain't great, but obviously, you aren't getting a fantastic camera for $190. I might've thought about going a little higher to the regular G6, but I prefer a little cheaper and a longer battery life.
I like the E4 quite a bit for a super-cheap ($125) phone. It's a great option for kids, or other non-power users that just need a good solid phone that does all the basics well.
