Already dropped Martin...done or not? (1 Viewer)

I cut him last week, he wasn't doing much for me in my td heavy league anyway.
I cut bait. Good friend of mine torn his labrum twice, he explained to be about the injury and said he was told that rest/rehab is not really an option with this kind of injury. Without surgically repairing the labrum the shoulder will continue to pop out.

On the other hand, we're in the same league together... so maybe he was playing me.

Anyway, he convinced me that Martin is done for 2013.
Celtics player Avery Bradley had a shoulder that kept popping out until surgery.
Just saw this (for what it's worth)...

(RotoWire) The Buccaneers are unsure of when Martin (shoulder) might return to the field, ESPN.com reports. Analysis: Martin's injury can't be repaired without surgery, so the issue is whether to put the surgery off until the offseason, or to go under the knife prior to this season's conclusion. The Buccaneers clearly have nothing to play for, so it's hard to form an argument for why Martin shouldn't undergo the surgery now, affording him extra time to get to full health prior to 2014. Hopefully a decision can be reached in the near future so that Martin owners can plan accordingly.

and 3 days later RotoWire reports

Coach Greg Schiano said Monday that Martin (shoulder) is "in play" to return to the field next Monday against the Dolphins, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Very frustrating scenario with Martin.

schiano showing his colors again. If this happens he should be fired immediately

Rotoworld:

Coach Greg Schiano said Doug Martin will only be allowed to play again this season if doctors believe he can't do further damage to his shoulder.
Martin will need surgery to repair his torn labrum at some point. But he is holding out hope that he'll get cleared to play through the injury and then go under the knife in the offseason. Given that the Bucs are 0-8, it's hard to see the franchise letting one of its most talented players back on the field with a shoulder tear. For now, Martin is just week to week.

Rotoworld:

The Tampa Bay Times reports the Bucs will make a decision on Doug Martin's (shoulder) rest-of-season status before Monday's game against the Dolphins, and are "leaning toward" placing him on injured reserve.
"You know I think it's really just going to be a medical decision," coach Greg Schiano said Thursday. The Bucs would be more inclined to push Martin were their season not in the gutter, but it is, and they have little to gain by putting their franchise rusher at risk of further injury. We highly doubt Martin plays another down this season, leaving feature duties to Mike James.

He's done for 2013. Schiano is living in a fantasy saying that he'll be fine 'because he doesn't need to raise his arm to run the ball'. What an idiot that guy is.
This is why this board can be dangerous. Complete uneducated uninformed posts.

Just sayin.
:lmao: You'll see. Go ahead and hang onto a guy with a torn labrum. :lmao:
I will considering I have myself backed up on my fantasy teams. It is called good drafting. If Hamster can come back in week 11-12 and produce at a 13th RB level, I will take that as my #2 RB.

Meanwhile people who have good depth are grabbing Martin with the possibility to have a starting RB who averages 20+ touches a game.

now thats LOL.
How's Martin working out for you? I ####### told ya.

Works just fine ######. It was something I was hoping would happen as a bucs fan. Your big man on campus four weeks later... Congrats for being the bottom feeder of the shark pool.

Anyways I have James and he is a solid startibg option each week now.

I'd agree with you 100%, Garg, if you hadn't also lobbed an insult at the poster's first comment. Tough to take the side of the guy lobbing insults at the poster's intelligence, then the poster ends up being right. I know it's hard not to get snarky in threads, but it comes with a risk. You called him uneducated and unintelligent, then he was right and lobbed an insult right back. Don't dish what you can't take.

I guess you could read it like that but my idea was to beware of the uneducated post, not person and at the time it was. If the Bucs were in the playoff hunt, Martin would not be on IR right now. I think that is a fair assessment. So my point is, you have reporters or journalists who mis report information, then reports come out stating that he is not going on IR and finally you have bottom feeders posting garbage with no real knowledge of the situation.

And breaking it down further, he was not right. It took weeks to finally put him on IR. There was no guarentee of IR. It could of went either way.

No one here is going to say these boards are doing well... Info and a--holes are reaaal stinky. I will admit that I can also add to the mix, but sometimes you find yourself visiting the bottom of the pool... Even if you didnt mean too.
