AMA - Seasoning a pie iron right now (1 Viewer)

i'm unclear.  wtf do you do cook with those?  pies?  pizzas? wendy's square burgers?
Pretty much anything you can stuff between 2 slices of buttered bread, although I guess you could do plain meat or whatever

I left ours at home so had to get a new set

getting ready to do pizza sandwiches (bread, pepperoni, mozzarella, sauce)

i'm going camping for the first time in years next months.  do i need one of these?  i was planning on just a cast iron skillet and pot

I don’t think you need one but if your wife is the Pinterest type she might enjoy finding something for you to make

Seasoning your frying irons, camping out in nature, posting on a message board from your phone.  It's almost like you're on the Lewis and Clark Expedition.

To properly camp, you must eat everything raw.

I love my pie iron. I always bring lunch meat camping. Turkey and cheese pies all night!!! (I eat all the lunch meat the first night while drunk)

Trial and error.  I try to get the campfire down to just coals and check it every couple of minutes so it doesn’t burn
How do you check it though?  If you start pulling that thing apart before it's done, it just falls apart.
