American Horror Story: Hotel (Season 5) (2 Viewers)

How many episodes have been aired? I have two DVR'd, I think I missed one. :banned:
You're good. There have only been two.
Haven't watched the second one, but I think I understand his confusion. For whatever reason, my Dish network guide had this week's episode number as 3. I think the first week was longer than an hour, so maybe they consider it 1 and 2. Might be for future DVD/potential rerun type deals where having more episodes means more money. Or, it could be a simple mistake. I was wondering if I missed something.

and why is his name gimp then, instead of latex suit guy?
Are you for real?
Its an awesome movie, but I didnt realize it was common knowledge to know the name of a character who has 10 minutes of scene time in Pulp Fiction. Do people here watch that movie every couple months or something? Judging by the FFA's apparent obsession with Pink Floyd in the 70's albums threads, Im assuming people here also must think Pulp Fiction is the best movie of the 90's or something.Hell, its not even Tarantino's best movie. That would be Jackie Brown.
you really dont know much do you?

Is it wrong that I now root for the family to die? I also sometimes hope, in the middle of a scene featuring multiple ghosts, that the show completely jumps the shark and brings in ghostbusters.

Hey guy, we're not dealing with the stay puff marshmallow man here. This is serious ghost business. And yes, I wish the husband and daughter would die so there could be lots of scenes with Connie Britton.

I have a growing concern that we may have seen the only Connie Britton sex scene of the series.

Uh, maid and Connie Britton down?ETA...I'm sure if Connie saw the younger maid, she'd be all for it! Right?

In my world all women are bi.

I don't get the Connie Britton love. There were a few times on FNL (when she was in 'hot Texas cheerleader-mom' mode) that caught my attention but there's no way she's hot enough to keep me watching a show.

It's not that she's that hot. I'll watch whatever she's in because she's a great actress. She is pretty hot for her age though. She was much hotter FNL though. She's carrying a few more lbs. now than she was in her FNL days. She's not terribly different from your avatar, Hendricks. Big huge boobies. A certain something that's hard to pinpoint (in addition to the boobs) that makes her sexy, but sort of an acquired taste. Not the classic Hollywood beauty. Also, in 12 years (when she's Britton's age), she'll certainly be on the thick side of hot (but we'll still love her anyway).

 I guess she's not too bad of an actress.

Sidenote: Taissa Farmiga that plays Violet is the little sister of Vera Farmiga (the blond Clooney was tapping in "Up in the Air").
As soon as I saw her name I figured they were related because she looks a lot like Vera. Im actually surprised theyre sisters though, I figured it was her daughter. Vera is 38 and Taissa is 17, Homer material.Surprised you referenced Up In The Air. I wouldve said she was the psychiatrist in The Departed. A good movie where she is the lead actress is Down To The Bone.

I dont need another sex scene if we get one of those naked walkaway bare ### shots from her that we got in the pilot from wrong character.

Heterosexuality down?
 She's ok, but hardly a reason to watch a show for.

Now the young maid is smokin' hot.

Actually, she was in the movie. And played the coach's wife.

I'm smitten.
:goodposting: Smitten is the appropriate word. Her demeanor is really attractive. Maybe the best thing about her is that I can't find anything annoying or unattractive. The perfect MILF imo.

 I never liked her demeanor in FNL. The way...she talked...slow...and for some...reason...her cadence was...a bit off...for no reason at...all.

I meant Connie Britton in the line you bolded.

Youre right. I knew she was in the show, didnt remember her being in the movie and wouldnt have thought she did both.

Ahhh...OK. I was wondering for a second.

2 episodes in and I think I'm hooked. Great camerawork. I jumped at the back stabbing. That doesn't happen often.

Really enjoying the show so far. Easily one of my favorite of the new season. I don't think future seasons will be all that difficult. They have 80 years of the house being haunted to work with. Keep the ghosts, change the family or persons being "haunted", that is if it lasts multiple seasons.

As far as the young maid, the moment I start thinking how hot she is, I get all Edgar Allen Poe and see that dead eye of the old maid and it is ruined for me.

As far as Im concerned, this show has gotten better with each episode.

I dont mind them showing the history/original reason why the house is haunted, but I dont want the storyline to get messy and congested.

The Gimp scene ranks up there with the Deliverance scene (soooooooo-ey!). Both only take one viewing to be burned into your brain forever.

So the family are also ghosts as well, right? Thinking nobody is really alive in this show. Don't call the police, work out of the house, only come into contact with neighbors..

The realtor? Doctors mom is seeing for the pregnancy? Cops that were there after the nurse murder re-enactors attacked the family last week? (cop last night I think was a ghost)...The mom went on the "death tour" and the people there saw her

Oof. I thought the first two shows were about a 7. I'd give last night's show a 4. Way too disorganized and sporadic. The outcomes were also weak. Can't move, etc, etc.

House is still in shambles (as shown at beginning of first episode) so house isn't even fixed so no realtor. Cops are also ghosts or family's imagination. Looks like this is the Sixth Sense made for TV (Bruce Willis = family members). I like the show.

The first & third have been my favorites. Great show.

That was 1978 when the house was in shambles. If they family moved cross country it wouldnt make sense that they were ghosts already. Its an interesting thought though and I wouldnt totally rule it out.ETA: The 3 people that were killed last week wouldnt fit into your idea either, as well as the mom going on the "death tour" last night and all those people seeing her

I didn't watch last night's episode. As for the three people killed I don't remember the family being hauled into police station and questioned. I think the ghosts killed them and disposed of the bodies, right? Meaning all of it could have been in the family's imagination and they are dead as well.Bruce Willis character walked all over the city but was dead (think drove car/took bus/train as well) meaning travel doesn't mean you are alive.

Ghosts disposed of 2 of the bodies, the girl who got the ax to the stomach was found down the street (the cops tell them this, and the neighbor sees her stumbling down the street from her house. It was pretty clear it was a home invasion, 2 people were missing, and the pregnant mom and daughter just had a traumatic experience. They can ask questions in the house (which they did), and detain them later if something points to them committing a crime. I think its pretty common in TV/movies to question people in their house, at the scene of the crime, etc and not haul them in until they are suspected of something.Willis couldnt communicate with anyone but the kid though, right? The family has talked to the realtor, the mom's doctors, the dad has talked to his piece of ###, etc, etc.

Epic ending in the last episode IMO. Girlfriend shockingly killed, the father allowing the guy to bury the body, then he pours concrete over it and builds a gazebo. How sick is he? Also, we found out where the maid was buried and now we also know she cant leave cuz of the concrete. Im assuming thats why Jessica Lange tried to stop him from digging earlier (so she couldnt escape). Its pretty clear the maid is a ghost and that crazy kid is a ghost but I dont think Jessica Lange or her daughter are ghosts.

And no way is the main family ghosts. Theyve been interacting with everyone

Have a feeling this burned guy is the father's imagination and he killed her. Even the cop who comes to the house just appears. On the murder tour could be the wife's imagination and everyone in the truck are ghosts. Can't really assume anything is real or not. Good show. Every patient who shows up to the house is actually dead. Basically it comes down to the family thinking they are alive when in fact they aren't while the rest of the people around them either are the same way or know they are ghosts and can't leave and move from purgatory until they can get the family to do something (whatever that is).
