Andre Johnson owners step inside! (1 Viewer)

Wasn't able to watch yesterday? What the F happened? The dude has spoiled us lately & had a great matchup, I am just curious if it was qb play, coverage, perhaps related to his storming off the field last week?

Any insight?

I didn't watch much of it, but it appears there were only 57 offensive plays, Keenum had a horrible day (169 yds, 5.0 ypa), and AJ only saw 6 targets. I doubt there's much to take away from this game. Just one of those bad breaks. I wasn't expecting too much. Figured Kubiak would run the ball all day if he had a lead. Still figured Keenum would target him about 8 times, though, hitting on at least one 20+ yard shot.

But yeah, it wasn't related to last week's exchange with Schaub. Gotta feel bad for AJ being stuck in this mess. Made it to the playoffs two years in a row. Started 2-0. Lost 9 in a row. Epic fail by the coaching staff.

All we can hope for is that keenums confidence is not completely shot at this point. Hes the only chance AJ has value going into the FF playoffs.

Think he will be ok down the stretch? I have Dez, Andre, J Gordon locked in WR 1-3, just like the 20+ games much more than whatever the hell happened yesterday.

Andre says the Houston offense sucks. Sounds like he is ready for Kubiak to go or he wants out himself. Can't blame him. Kubiak did his best work laid up in a hospital bed where he couldn't bring the team down to his level of suck.

Is this a quote following yesterday's game?

BAck on topic of original question: I think I am sitting him the rest of the way. I am sure he will likely bounce back and put up 17+, etc but the Texans are probably more susceptible to these kinds of games than any other player I have on my team right now and when you get to this part of the season in fantasy, the homeruns are nice when you get them but it seems to me the compiler teams adding 10 here and 9 there across the board are the teams that put up the points to win.

Yep.

The Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the Houston Texans 13-6 on Sunday. Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson caught just two passes for 36 yards: a 15-yarder on third-and-6 early in the third quarter and a 21-yarder on third-and-4 on the Texans’ final drive.

It was his worst performance of the season, surpassing his three-catch day in the Texans’ 34-3 loss to San Francisco.

"We suck as an offense," Johnson said according to Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com. "That’s pretty much it."

Hard to sit a dude who is still gonna be in the top 5-8 at his position even after a 2-25 on sunday. Not sure I have a better alternative.

I was at the game and, to be honest, it didn't look like AJ was trying very hard.

I know that's a totally baseless accusation and that you can't always gauge how hard someone is trying by what you see, but I have been watching AJ since he was drafted by the Texans and that was what it looked like to me. Take it FWIW.

Need to play him. Look at Clev yesterday. Wheeden coming in should have been all she wrote for Gordon but instead he was all Wheeden saw. 17 targets for a bad team with a bad qb. Andre had that last week. They will look at the gameplan and realize the only chance they havw is with Andre.

.... at least I hope.

Seems like he has way more upside with Keenum but probably also a much higher chance of a game like yesterday.

With Schaub, he seems to be a good bet for 80-125 yards most weeks, and on 5+ catches if you're in PPR. TDs seem to be a good bit less likely than with Keenum.

Flip side of the coin is true also. Defenses look at the Texans and say "THAT [AJ] is all they have. Now they roll to New England, who has shown they can pretty much tie a one-trick pony to the back of the shed any day they want and force you to try to win with someone else.

I can see a situation where AJ pulls a double move here or there. Ends up with a nice day. But I don't expect 8-10 catches. I don't theink the Patriots will allow it or need to.

Andre may get garbage points as New England is packing up their gear in the 3rd quarter with the game already over.

Texans receiver Andre Johnson became the second-fastest player in NFL history to reach 900 catches. Only Marvin Harrison did it faster than Johnson's 150 games. And Harrison only beat him by one. Asked about it, Johnson gave answers that matched his personality. "I don't think it's really hit me yet," Johnson said. "To hear that, in my mind, Jerry Rice is the greatest receiver to ever play. So to do something faster than he's done is a tremendous honor."
