Antifa: Left Wing Militants on the Rise (2 Viewers)

It is more of a national socialistic rule in which authoritarian government uses their corporate allies to perform their dirty work because the constitution disallows the government from doing it for now.  Democrats would love to change that.
Who is the corporate ally in this example?

Exactly what principle?  The principle that only their viewpoint should be heard and we should suppress alternative viewpoints by whatever .eans possible?  Glas th aee the left openly embracing their Nazi roots.  Joseph Goebbels would be proud.
Can you honestly answer a question for me?

Do you know any people on the left in real life? Like any friends or coworkers or family members? Do you speak to them this way if they have a different stance than you? Do you call them Nazis and compare them to Goebbels?

The idea that there is some ministry of truth is the oldest tool by authoritarian rule in the book.  Yes, it warrants comparison to authoritarian government when suppression of speech is so widely pervasive.  Because the government says something does not make it gospel.  Misinformation is not the enemy of the people.   Not being able to speak out and question government, that is far more dangerous.  The left use to understand this.

Again, so contractors must continue to work with a company that they disagree with? What if Spotify came out and said, "We think black people are all terrible artists, so we are no longer going to have any black artists on our platform."

Would it be ok if Joni and Neil wanted to stop working with Spotify then?

What if Spotify came out and said we think the Gangnam style dance and K-Pop is terrible, all Asian artists are cancelled, also not going to have any white rappers like Eminem of our platform.

Would it be OK for Neil and Joni to stop working with Spotify then?

Yes, that is as ridiculous as your comment.

Your analogy works against you.  Joni and Neil are not upset the Spotify is discriminating, they are upset that Spotify is inclusive and refuse such discriminatory policy in your analogy.

Why is it discriminatory to stop the spread of misinformation? Anyway, nobody has a right to be heard on whatever platform they want. It’s never worked that way.

I agree 100%, but that's not what's happening here.  Neil Young is SPECIFICALLY saying "censor Joe Rogan or I'm leaving".

Spotify is not making this demand, Young is.  And I still fail to see where Rogan is spreading misinformation.

Fine. Spotify says, "We are going to include all of the white supremacist/Nazi punk band music on our site."

Joni and Neil just have to keep working with Spotify eh? They aren't allowed to protest?

Right — more of a hypothetical if Young got his way and Spotify took some action against Rogan.

The open letter is a good place for you to start regarding the misinformation.

They can protest all they want but to make demands that they take other voices off of Spotify is sponsoring censorship.

Yeah, I saw the open letter.  Not convinced.  In that open letter they even link to Politifact - their incestous "fact checkers" for the stories they make up on a daily basis.  For every one of the 1000 signatures I'm sure Rogan could get 1000 "pro" signatures for himself.

And, to be fair, the MSM broadcast the Trump Russian Collusion conspiracy 24/7 - did we see an open letter then from these same fine people?  No, we did not.  Conspiracy theories are just as much a part of free-speech as anything else.

What's the difference? I'm protesting by removing my songs until you remove Rogan.

All protests make demands. That's the point of a protest.

It was not a protest but a demand or choice.  Young said choose Rogan or choose me.  Spotify chose Rogan as numbers predicted they would.  Spotify I am sure did not want to choose as they would have loved to keep both.

If you were running an NFL franchise and they said your choice is Josh Allen or Big Ben would would you choose? An up and comer or an aging star?

I like Neil Young but instead of singing "old man" he is the old man. Most of his stuff is from 40-50 years ago.

Spotify is the “establishment” here.

Spotify is not the establishment here - it's the Big Tech censorship that's been going on for the last 5 years.  Young (and MItchel) were banking on Big Tech tech to keep doing what they've been doing.

I'd give credit to Spotify if I thought they were actually standing up for Rogan, but it's clear to me that Spotify is only doing that because of what Rogan brings in (and probably contract issues too).  If Rogan were some yokel with 100 listeners I would bet Spotify would take them off the air before Young even finished his demand.

But that would ALSO be wrong (taking the yokel off the air).  Young's bluff was called by Spotify so since he demanded they remove him then that's not censorship of Young.  Had they removed Rogan then that would have been censorship.

First off, a full 50% of that list is neither doctors nor scientists.

Second, if misinformation and "conspiracy theories" were that worrisome to them, why would they NOT pipe in on one of the most high profile conspiracy theories in the last 40 years (The Dossier Trump/Russia collusion)?

Of course you aren’t convinced

Should we start talking about the M&M color and dress controversy here in the Antifa thread too?  Or maybe worst POTUS?  Let’s talk inflation too while we’re at it.

No . I not sure if Youmg even knows who Rogan is . I’m guessing this was presented to Young and he went in. I do think this is part of a coordinated effort to attack Rogan

Have you heard Neil Young in an interview as of late?  Saw him last year and the 60s and 70s have taken a heavy toll on him.

So no, I have doubts he even knew who Joe Rogan was or has ever listened to Rogan as Rogan has a much younger audience.

Young and Mitchell were relevant in the 60s and 70s and this might give them a little boost to try and be relevant again.

what, no BLM?  you're slipping.

Wait, I'm confused.....am I to understand that Neil Young is a corporate ally to authoritarian government? Or is it Spotify? Or Bugs Bunny? I just can't keep up with these twisted view points from the fringe.

That's how it works.

You either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain.  All of these old leftist tools from the 60's and 70's are now FIRMLY WITH the establishment.  You see, it's not about being anti-establishment, it's about being anti-establishment to the establishment you don't agree with.

Red means run, son. Numbers add up to nothin’.
