Maybe they'll install a little windshield wiper on his facemask? Seriously I would expect them to remove the thing if he can't see out of it.
I'm starting Flacco over Roethlisburger again this week. Flacco has the more favorable matchup with Houston and perfect weather conditions.I'm going with Flacco over Roethlisburger too, although I don't expect more than 200 yds and a TD from either QB.Starting Flacco
He's back on the bench for me. I was fortunate to survive another ofer from him but I'm not leaving this week to chance. Matt Ryan, come on down, your'e the next contestant on the QB carousel.Any reason to be concerned about Ben's matchup with the Jets this week, or full steam ahead? The weather looks cold but not terrible conditions.
He is averaging about 12 points/week over the last 3 weeks in my league. Don't think I can start him against the Jets with any confidence.Any reason to be concerned about Ben's matchup with the Jets this week, or full steam ahead? The weather looks cold but not terrible conditions.
At this point, it seems like everything is catching up to the passing game for the Steelers...visor, no visor, foot, broken nose, beat up oline, WR consistency, poor matchups, etc.I would start most other QBs over him right now.He is averaging about 12 points/week over the last 3 weeks in my league. Do you usually start Roethlisberger over Rivers?benching for rivers. it's the jets![]()

Just looked at Garrard's numbers playing at home this year and I may be changing my tune here.Starting Ben over Garrard and K Collins. Ben is due for a big one and I hope this is that game.
The Steelers are not going to win the Super Bowl by running it 40 times/game. They will go as far as Ben will take them. They use the run to set up the pass. I benched Ben last week for Collins but I'm starting him this week. I see a big game on the horizon. The Panthers are a lesser team. The Raiders have a good pass D as well and Ben torched them. I see the same type of game this week. The great run Ds hurt the Steelers passing game. Ben doesn't have time. The Steelers do not run the "west coast" offense. I wish they would sometimes, but we get yards when Ben makes things happen.Ben is glued to my bench right now, and I'm not changing that.If the Steelers are going to do anything to get primed for a playoff run, it's going to be to pound the rock as much as possible and re-establish themselves as a hard-nosed running team. The O line has been a sieve and - particularly on a short week, when your gameplanning is limited - I think Pittsburgh would be thrilled to run the ball 40 times, grind out a 20-3 win, spare Ben from taking any more big hits, and ease him into 10 days of rest before their next game.2 TDs over the last 4 weeks is not getting it done
You make some real valid points but I do think this team goes as far as Ben takes them as another poster pointed out. The more comfortable he gets back there, the better off they are going to be in the long run. They might not chuck it 30+ times, but I do see them being more offensively efficient in this game which will translate into good #s.If the weather permits, I see 250 & 2-3 TDs.31-10 Steelers.Ben is glued to my bench right now, and I'm not changing that.If the Steelers are going to do anything to get primed for a playoff run, it's going to be to pound the rock as much as possible and re-establish themselves as a hard-nosed running team. Doing the same, but am definitely questioning it. Garrard has bit me in the past.playing garrard over ben no question
I see ben floor around 15 points. Sure Tebow, Rex, Kitna may easily surpass that total, but there floor is much lower. If you are looking for a home run QB, Ben is not it. But if you want stable, risk free 15 points..........ben is your guy.

I have flacco in over him as of now, think I am going to leave it that way...Gut feeling he has 200 yds, 2td today. playing him over Flacco & Tebow

Thanks for nothing. Have Garrard in over Ben at the moment but definitely 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th guessing....etc.thisDoing the same, but am definitely questioning it. Garrard has bit me in the past.playing garrard over ben no question
I agree. I'm going with Big Ben over Eli. I just don't see Eli having two big weeks in a row.I see ben floor around 15 points. My opponent has Vick so I'm looking for a home run, especially since the rest of the teams seem fairly even. Going with Tebow.
The Steelers want to get Ben cranked up for the playoffs. They might be able to run all over the Panthers but I think at least for 3 quarters, you are going to see a lot of passing. Arians was taped in the local radio that they are going to go a lot of no-huddle tonight. I see 300 yards with 3-4 TDs. They aren't going to win the Super Bowl without Ben having full confidence in his young (other than Ward) receiving crew.
