Here is my situation. .I have participated in breaks for many years and I have had great success getting all my Colorado teams.Last June (2020) I paid for a break from chamaxcards. They are located out of Canada. You pay a flat rate for the team of your choice, with the value priced differently per team. I paid 39.99 USD for a 2018-19 Certified NBA Denver Nuggets case break.. I was after Porter Jr. RC's. I had completed a previous break with them for the Av's--so i felt they were a good company. but Hockey is a different beast. .
Here is the catch, the break doesn't take place until there are only 5 teams left not purchased. I waited for the remainder of teams to be sold and I wait and I wait. I finally emailed them in January of 2021 because when i searched Ebay the listing was no longer in my purchase history. They responded that now 18 of the teams had still not been purchased, but they would be willing to give me credit toward another break--no refund. When I originally purchased the Nuggets, this number was 15 teams left. Well, i didn't want another break--I wanted THIS break because Porter Jr. is really coming into his own and I believe he is going to be a star. They further stated the break is advertised on their website and they are actively trying to sell the remaining spots Out of curiosity, I go look at the listing.and the remaining spots are priced beyond belief--like to the point there is no way they will ever sell. The teams without even good RC's or stars are at a level no one will buy because there is no way you could get any value back. I understand the Dallas spot being close to 3k, but some of the lower teams being close to 1k and there is literally not a card that could be pulled to justify that amount.
I tried to chalk it up to the COVID/exploding basketball market., etc....but then i find this thread at Blowout---

It appears this company makes a habit of doing this. They advertise product and then when the big name teams sell, they relist the common teams at such inflated values, there is no way the break will ever happen. Meanwhile, they keep all the money they were given on these breaks and probably use it to buy future product.
I don't care about the money--I am content to let it sit there for as long as it holds up this break because I am sure the plan is to wait me out and hope I request credit and then they relist the Nuggets at 10x--15x what I paid. I am stubborn like that, but what do you all think about this? What would you do?
