Anyone been to Vegas in the past month? Is it worth it with mask mandate? (1 Viewer)

I have a Vegas trip booked in early October but how is Vegas actually?  Masks seem like a real vacation drag.    I don’t really know if I want to go if there isn’t anything happening or if I have to wear a mask everywhere I go.

Anyone been there lately?  Or cancel plans?  I’m just curious how fun it will actually be.

Was there last week. It wasn't as bad as I anticipated considering that we have been wearing masks everywhere else when indoors. Wearing masks in Vegas wasn't much different. I was there for a conference but did spend some time in casinos and a LOT of restaurants, mostly Bellagio, Vdara and Cosmopolitan. I played blackjack for a couple hours at Cosmopolitan and noticed the dealer there had to tell me about 5 times to put my mask back up after having a drink. That was just one instance though. I really didn't notice it anywhere else while eating or drinking. And face it, you're in Vegas. You are eating and drinking pretty much 24x7.

It's a subjective question you are asking because ultimately, it's up to you to decide if it's worth it. I didn't have a choice, I had to be in Vegas regardless so the mask mandate was known and accepted. My wife and son chose not to join me on Friday last week (had Friday-Sunday open as I decided to not return home to Miami after being in Seattle the week before for work) because to them, it wasn't worth it. My wife wants to wait until after the mask mandate is dropped before going back to Vegas.

Masks currently required indoors. Of course, there's no guarantee that will be the case in October. Without pretending to be an epidemiologist, the delta variant appears to burn hotter and quicker, and Nevada was one the first delta hotspots.

I think it takes away from the relaxation part, but it obviously doesn’t bother some people. I am going with my wife again next month but will spend a lot of time in the room, at the pool, at restaurants, etc. I would be hesitant to go with friends right now and gamble for hours at a time though.

Was there the weekend the mask mandate went into effect  (July 30).  It was absolutely being enforced at the tables.  A LOT of people were ignoring it  everywhere else (pools, clubs, casino floors), but it may be a little tighter control now.   It did seem to take something away from my experience.  I usually go to Vegas three or four times a year and this trip felt "off".  I guess it depends on your tolerance level.

A few states have peaked- Nevada, Missouri, and Arkansas. I’m hoping this trend continues.

This from an epidemiologist I follow.
