Anyone rolling the dice on McCluster this week? (1 Viewer)

He disappointed last week, but it's hard not to love McCluster's chances against Houston's porous pass defense, and I have to think that Haley and Weis are looking for ways to kick-start the offense and will design a few plays to get the ball in McCluster's hands. I may be crazy, but I'm thinking of going with him over Lance Moore, BJGE, or Dez Bryant in a PPR. It's a risk but I think McCluster's a high upside play for this week.

Anyone else starting him?

Starting him over Megatron who even if he plays I will not start. He is high risk and high reward. He plays the slot every week and is in on alot of plays BUT cassel doesnt throw much. But with Chambers questionable and Bowe sucking theres a chance he puts up WR3 numbers this week. Is as good a gamble as your gonna get. If you got 2 good starts with your other WR's you can play a gamble with your WR3 ( or WR2 or flex in a 2 WR League). Me I am starting him with Marhsall and Briutt as my WR1 and WR2.

Another Kansas City player to join the ranks on this week’s top 10 sleepers is Chiefs wide receiver Dexter McCluster, who could be a targeted recipient of numerous passes this weekend in Houston.

The rookie sensation also has the legs to do some damage with the pigskin on both run plays and kick returns, so don’t be surprised if McCluster has a fantasy owner’s dream day when the Chiefs face the Texans tomorrow afternoon.

Regardless, look for McCluster to be one of the top sleepers in the NFL’s week 6 action.

I wouldn't personally start him over Megatron if he plays, but I do love his upside. I was surprised not to see him on Bob Henry's sleeper report this week.

I would start him over Dez this wk because of the ankle.I hope your right as well as an owner in many leagues. Not sure I'd start him over Moore this wk though. As always though, he's a nice option in return leagues every wk.#3 WR ppr this wk?

Only because Megatron is a GTD and he could barley move his arms up to Friday. If Megatron plays theres as good a chance hes a decoy as anything. I would never start Dexter over a decent health Megatron.

Its between him and Sproles in a league where we get 0.5ppr and 1pt per 10 yards rush/recv and 1 pt per 20 return yards.

Not sure who I am going with yet - leaning towards Sproles but I think SD may go up early and than rely on Tolbert and Matthews.

Its crazy how much passing Rivers has done this year but Sproles has gotten little to none of it - on top of that he hasn't been rushing the ball at his usual pace (5 carries per game).

I am thinking about rolling with him this week over Britt but not sure cause Britt might have a decent game. We get 1pt for 10 yards returning so my recievers I am looking at rolling with are Randy Moss, Cribbs, and maybe McCluster or Britt what do you guys say.

I've been debating all week between McCluster and Gaffney. I have Gaffney in my lineup right now but that's subject to change. The main reason I don't want to go with McCluster is because I already have Moeaki and I don't want to have two receivers from the same team in my lineup, but it is Houston, right?

I'm rolling with him over Louis Murphy. If you get 1 point for 10 yards returning, then I think McCluster is definitely a great start over Britt, armyeric.

I got Moeaki and McCluster in. I never worry about having 2 guys from one team. I start to sorry when its 3. Got Knocked out of the playoffs last year. Had Warner-Fitz-Hightower in that monday night game VS San Fran down 15 and they got nothing . But I think 2 guys from the same team is ok.

Chambers is OUT this week so McCluster moves up to the #2 WR .(I assume) Hes a good start now.

Chris Chambers, WR KC

News: Kansas City WR Chris Chambers (finger) is officially inactive for the Week 6 game at Houston. Chambers has struggled this season and has just seven catches on the season for 76 yards and no scores after four games.

Not sure if that means McCluster is the #2 - seems to me he would remain in the slot role.

Yeah but it means he plays alot more. after Bowe and Chambers they have little beyond McCluster. All they have is Terrance Cooper and Jeremy Horne. Guys who never play. Chiefs Week 6 inactives: WR chris Chambers, DL Alex Magee, LB Justin Cole, FS Kendrick Lewis, SS Reshard Langford, OT Ryan O'Callaghan, FB Tim Castille, DL Tyson Jackson. Our View: WR Dexter McCluster and TE Tony Moeaki should see more targets with Chambers (finger) inactive.

Not saying he might not be a good start - just questioning if he would be in on 2WR sets or if they role with Copper.Anyhows I'm starting him over sproles.

I just put him in my lineup over Gaffney so let's keep our fingers crossed.

Good catch. I definitely overlooked McCluster, but don't take that as indifference or that I'm not high on McCluster as well this week. Looking back at my article, he'd fit right into that "gamble" category. Solid sleeper indeed. Great matchup. Even better, the Chiefs can move him in the backfield, slot, out wide, etc to create mismatches. The Jags secondary is in shambles, too. Gerald Alexander was making the calls back there on Monday night and he was waived this week (likely due to Sean Considine being ready to get back on the field).
