Anyone thinking about benching Jacobs... (1 Viewer)

Devil's Advocate
Not a pretty matchup to be sure, but I don't have many other options. Is he unbenchable at this point?

If you're sitting him, who is getting the nod instead?

Guy is driving me crazy. You can never tell when he's going to get more than 15 or so carries. If I could convince myself he'd get 20+ carries, I'd probablystart him, especially if Portis is out, but for now, I have Portis and Forte in. (8 team league). If Portis is out, then Slaton vs Indy has to factor in.

Rushing yards per game allowed:

1) Baltimore - 65.4 :moneybag:

2) Pittsburgh - 69.2

3) Minnesota - 70.1

4) Chicago - 74.9

5) N.Y. Jets - 76.4

best offensive line in the game and they could get favorable field position for most of the day. I am trotting him out there.

Over the past six games, he's been spectacular in four, solid in one, and a no-show in one. Double digits in 5 of 6 weeks is driving you crazy? And for the season, outside of his week 8 dud, in the two games that he's failed to post double digits, he put up nine points. What more do you want?I think your roster dilemma underscores why 8 team leagues are silly.

True, we had several guys drop and are trying to keep it together. But you are correct, upon further review, he's been far more consistent than I realized. I was still looking at his earlier season stats.

Benching, no... but this might be one of those games where Ward and Bradshaw get more carries than usual... to change up the pace from the big man more often.

But I expect the Gmen to get a decent lead and attempt ball control

Giants homer here -- I would swallow hard and bench Jacobs this week. Even for a guy like Norwood. This is precisely the kind of team Jacobs struggles against. I would expect numbers in-line with his performance against Pit. My guess is that you will be praying all game for a goal-line plunge to make his day respectable. Giants will rotate backs liberally in this game, and ultimately the burden will fall on Eli to put points on the board. I like Hixon as a sleeper at WR this week. Burress should also put up his best PPR numbers in awhile.

Hell, no. I benched him in two different leagues last week because of his supposedly "tough" matchup against the Eagles, and in both leagues I ended up getting four (4) points from Tim Hightower while Jacobs and his 27 points rode the pine.

In my mind, at least, Jacobs is indeed "unbenchable."

No, he's not unbenchable. I benched him 3 weeks ago against Pittsburgh and may this week. I see 40 to 50 yards and no Td's written all over this. It all depends, I have Larry Johnson, Kevin Faulk and Dominc Rhodes as possible RB2s, we'll see as the game gets closer for me.

I refused to bench him against Pittsburgh. The ravens are probably the only other team that I'd consider benching him for but my options aren't great this week so he will probably play for me. I have Ward in both leagues and I doubt I could bench him for ward but I bet ward has equal points...somewhere between 5 and 9. They will score through the air.

I benching him.

I benched him this week and paid for it, but in a PPR and C. Johnson, Lynch and R. Brown as my other alternatives I'm leaning toward benching him again. Any other opponent and I'd probably start him over Lynch, but not against Baltimore.

I too benched him against Pitt and will likely this week as well for...gasp...J. Stew.

Crazy maybe, but I see alot of 2nd half carries and maybe he breaks a long one versus a poor Lions team in Car.

Thinking about it. I've been going 3RB/2WR most of the season (Jacobs/Barber/Light Blue Jesus), but might go 2RB/3WR this time around. But my WR3 options aren't gimmes, either (e.g., Bradley, Engram, Hardy)

I'll decide later.

Starting Lynch over Jacobs... though I might give Jacobs the nod over Tomlinson (faces Pitt).

Probably not though

He's averaging 17 carries a game and has been trending up of late with more competitive games on the horizon.
Yeah, someone else pointed this out above, and I acknowledged i was wrong in my assessment.

14-team league I have Jacobs, S-Jax and DeAngelo. No way I bench Jacobs. Going with him and DeAngelo this week.

I only own Jacobs in one league which is very TD heavy ... I think the Giants should be able to move the ball against the Ravens via passing game sho it could setup for scoring chances for Jacobs.

In league where the is performace for yardage (1/10 etc) it might be tough day.

Starting to rethink it....or overthink it depending on how you look at it....but I have J Stew and Coles or Jacobs. two of those three will go. I also have Fred Jackson and I do think he may end up getting a fair amount of action against CLE. I hate benching studs.

this is exactly why I traded him away, so that I dont have to make these sort of decisions....its not just 1 game. His playoff schedule is BRUTAL. I traded him for reggie wayne and dont regret it for a minute. I have MJD and deangelo williams not studs but definitely serviceable rb's.

 His playoff schedule is PHI, DAL, & CAR. He's already run for over 110 yds against both teams and CAR doesnt scare me. This team can run on anyone. The only 2 worrisome games were vs PIT and now vs BAL.

Thinking about benching him for Ward but I just cant do it.
I can see avoiding him due to the possibility of a very low scoring affair against Baltimore, but I don't see what sense it makes to bench him in favor of his much-inferior teammate.
receiving yards
good calltrying to run vs the Ravens is just sick

RB's have but 1 rushing TD this season, but 3rd down RB's have been able to catch a few on the edges and get it in from there...I think 2, w/Harrison(Clev) posting more than JLew

same situation here, as I see Ward actually being a better play then Jacobs

Benching him. I can only start 2, I am definitely benching Jacobs, probably benching Chris Johnson. ADP and Turner will probably get the start for me.

say hi to the New York Giants offensive line. Wow, that first drive was ridiculous.
