*** APEX LEGENDS *** - ̿ ̿ ̿̿’̿’\̵͇̿̿\=(•̪●)=/̵͇̿̿/’̿̿ ̿ ̿ ̿ (1 Viewer)

Crazy hard players tonight. Couple of seconds but tons of predators tonight.
Still a good night if there was that many good players!

I gave up early - basically a version of my first post most of the night.  Absolutely 0 teamwork.  Last game was dropping together but one looted quick, and just started sprinting across the map.  The other two tried to keep up, but they were so far ahead, of course died, and we had basically 0 weapons and armor so we died in a hurry too.

Dont get why these people play this game.  There's got to be a similar shooting game that is not squad based.

Which guns are good? I can never tell what’s good or not.
My answer would echo flaps - it's what you think is comfortable for you.   Mostly, especially if aim is an issue like it is for me, I would say that focusing on stuff that will do more damage when it does hit takes priority.   After our discussions in here, I focus mainly on:  Flatline/Hemlock/R301 + Shogun/Prowler.    The reason I like the first 3 is they don't seem to kick as much and you have the option to click it to single fire to pick off people from a distance.   Then the Prowler or Shotgun if you get up close.    My next tier is G7, Charge Rifle, and longbow.

I get shredded by opponents who have R99s, LStars, and Havocs, but I just can't seem to do much with them - unless I have a purple stabilizer for the 99 and maybe a decent scope for the Lstar, but even then not so much - I lose track of where opponents are in the storm of red being unleashed.

I am starting to lean more in the camp that at the start sticking to a core of weapons will help at the beginning more than the character you choose.

Yeah, it was still fun. Hx and I played with a guy I know in the real world and he's pretty good.  We just kept getting bombarded by guys with 5k to 20k kills.

I had such a tough time finding guns and scopes I wanted last night.  But I always learn a few things playing with people better than me, which is pretty much everyone. Lol

The one thing I really dislike about this game is their skill based pairing system. Continually put against teams with over 10k kills while none of us had over 1k with our characters. Hx drops off and I played a couple games in between before my other buddy got back on and it was so easy. The teams were terrible. Buddy gets back on and it's 10k kills again.

I tried playing a couple games this am, there were 0 people on.  I waited in the lobby for KC mode for about 5min without the queue filling up - ranked was similar.   Played a couple regular with poor results.

I have been playing more with Caustic when going solo.  Varying results there - feels like I mostly get trapped outside when teams attack, so his gas traps are ineffectual.   It was fun to play with one guy I was pretty sure was alone - knocked him down then kept putting down traps and exploded them and killed him that way.

I keep trying to see if I can find an article as to what the basis for this is.    My son is at the same ranking, but better than me, and he seems to be seeing better competition than I am.   I think my kills/death is about .5 on this account and he is about 1.5, so I am guessing that stat has something to do with it.  We have about the same # of wins.

So I am curious - what is your kills/death on your account?  What is @hxperson's?

What I was surprised with when I redid my PS4 account is that there didn't seem to be a middle tier.  It felt like I hit about level 25 and it jumped from mostly donkeys like me to people with 1000s of kills on their characters.   I guess maybe if it was cross-platform they might be able to tier it more.     Like I said before, IMO the ideal would be after level 30 you are paired up in games based on kills/death and damage per game as much as possible.

This has been a issue for me lately too.  Feels like they decreased the number of 2x and 3x scopes.  I seem to rarely find them.  Feels like I am rocking basic ones or find snipers I have no use for.

Ugh. Soooo much easier getting kills on Saturday morning. Multiple kills every game. Playing at night is so much more difficult.

It's a different world compared to nights.
Had multiple squad wipes when my teammate was down. Sometimes things just work. Couldn’t miss with the R301 or the G7. Last squad had high ground and couldn’t get to them.

Next game dropped hot and died after getting one knock.

Feels great when it comes together. I think we wiped 3 or 4 squads with a bunch of predators last night in one game but ended up getting pushed by the final squad right after we took down the other remaining squad.

Except for when I'm playing 10k kills guys, I'm very slowly turning the corner in getting more kills. Still only at a little over 0.5 K/D but continues to gradually increase.  It used to be 0.2. Lol

I looked up the Apex leaderboards- top person has 119,500 kills?   Someone has 522 wins in S4?

I mean I get that they are probably getting paid to stream/play the game, but is there a point where it stops being fun?

I also wonder about the math- how many hours a day these people playing?

That's my takeaway- each season my stats have gotten a little better.  My overall is pretty low, but S4 has been between .5 and .6.  Droppjng a little as I start running into better people.

Same. I always drop when I'm playing with FBGs. Gain it back on my own

Just bad luck today.  Combo of few scopes and little armor/health/shields at the start of games.  Not sure if I've placed in the top 10 yet today.

World's Edge?
KC this afternoon.  Figured I should refresh my memory with the map since second half of S4 goes back there.  Still the same - I try to go to the edges to get loot before getting into battles (Artillery, Water Treatment, Relay, etc.. ) and my partners get antsy and have to book it to Skull Town and Market all the time.

I love it. It's a constant battle.

Is KC coming back for longer later in the season?

OK Flap, I think I am losing my mind.  I could have sworn I read an article before the season started that the map was going to go back to KC in March for the 2nd half, but now I can't find anything about that.

Yep, right after I typed that - I am guessing something like THIS is what I was talking about.

Season 4 will feature two ranked 'splits', which will be played on each map; World's Edge and Kings Canyon. World's Edge will be available from February 3 to March 23. Kings Canyon will be available from March 24 to May 5.

So far, it's only been confirmed that Kings Canyon will be available in Ranked mode.

I was trying Ranked games last night, and I still find it funny that it seems harder than regular.   I don't play that much because of that reason, but does it start over each season (ie you go back to Bronze and have to work your way up), or do you keep those rankings?   I am always surprised that I will play a few on regular and see people like me on there, then play ranked and see people with 1000s of kills pop up on Bronze IV level.

Played for a bit last night, and it was another frustrating night of mostly no teamwork.   A handful of times I got the "long distance runner" player that drops with the team, but just full on sprints across the map, doesn't ping anything, and leaves the other 2 of us 100s of meters off.    So then you have to choose to leave them be, or try to keep up, but forgo getting much loot as you sprint after them.    Had one guy sprint from Thermal Station past Sorting factory, just to turn around and sprint over to Harvester without stopping.  WTF?

It also still surprises me how little people ping stuff.  I get it - you don't have to ping everything, but so many time I go by an area that a teammate has looted and there are hop ups, and blue/purple upgrades that somebody in the squad could probably use.  I mean, if you are going to sprint across the map and die, at least ping #### so your teammates aren't following you with a p2020 or gun with 0 upgrades so we can at least attempt to revive you.

Also, @JbizzleMan - been thinking about your character question, and I don't think we mentioned her, but Lifelife is a good beginner character too.  You use the health/shields 25% faster, you can plop down the health drone for health anytime, and you always help the group with the care packages and being able to revive teammates faster.

Yeah, I need to try her a bit. I did use the bloodhound guy once. I kind of liked seeing the footprints, but wasn’t sure if I was using him right. I quickly died when I finally found someone.

For the most part I only use Lifeline.

:wall:

Last 2 squads. Final battle.  I knock down two guys. Spot the third dude, and prepare to unload on him. Click. Out of bullets. Then he blasts me with a shotty. SQUAD DEAD

Rare game for me to finish the night. 5 kills and 730 damage.  301 and Triple Take my perfect set of guns. Kill leader when I died in the damn ring.  Both teammates went down. One didn't wait, of course. Took down the whole squad and revived the teammate remaining.  He dicked around behind too long looting and downed in ring.

1 win tonight in last game.  I'm almost helpless without a 301 and Triple Take
For ####s and giggles I started a 2nd profile for the sole purpose to TRY to land in hot zones, get in fights, etc..   I figured with the one I started, I am already to the point where I am seeing people with 1000s of kills and I have 0 shot at that.

1st night = I dropped in places like Mirage and Trainyard and somehow really didn't encounter people.

2nd night = tried again, but I am realizing that kills are for people who:  1. are probably using some teamwork, and 2.  are a lot better at close range.

So my damage/game is up, but still only getting 1 or 2 kills max before I die and the team with me.   So last night my games looked like:  1-2 kills, 600-800 damage.   There was one time i was in trainyard, but there were 2 other squads and mine was spread out.  I was able to get 5 knock downs (same person 3x), but couldn't get the finish before the teammate came over.

It is fun, and I was able to punch a player for a kill before either of us had a weapon as Wraith, and get a grapple knock down (grab the person with the grapple, pull them toward you and punch them), but their teammate killed me right away.

Found an alternative to a Triple Take when I can't find one. Hemlock with a 3x scope shredded for me in one game. May be my new gun for long range. Can use up close as well.

I seem to be doing a little better as far as damage goes since I have been trying to carry a gun that can go to single fire - ie R301, Hemlock, Flatline for hitting people a little farther away.  Problem is, I often forget to click that off, and in close range I get caught not being able to down a foe fast enough.    I really need to focus on that and make sure I have a Prowler/R99/Shotgun  to switch to if I can't learn to turn single fire off.
