The Packers are one of a few NFL teams that do not designate a Team Captain for each season. Instead, the head coach names deserving players to be honored with the designation for each game. The coach decides who will represent the Packers for the coin flip and be recognized as the captains. The players are picked due to their teamwork, dedication, and sportsmanship; to be examples and leaders in the locker room.

Each week before the game, the players selected as captains line up to be photographed. However, Aaron Rodgers insists on jumping into each photo, as if to say "I should be here too", regardless of whether or not the coach agrees. Here's a website that tracks the photos, you'll notice that Rodgers started forcing himself into the photos as early as 2006, when he was still Favre's backup.

So, what's the deal? What gives him the right to declare himself worthy of being in the captain's photo, despite the head coach picking other players as more deserving? Is it just classless, or arrogant too?

Hahaha. The team photo where Flynn and Rodgers put their hands on each others legs instead of their own is hilarious.

This is all in good fun. Its obviously become a game-day tradition.

Where's the vote for amusing/who cares? Get a life, guy.
Yeah, OK, feel free to make excuses for your golden boy. Try and come up with an explanation of this behavior that doesn't, at its root, show that Rodgers has a delusional view of his own self-worth, and that he's trying to usurp the judgement of the team coach to basically scream "LOOK AT ME" every week.

There are plenty of constructive game-day traditions practiced by almost all the players in the league. This is the only one where the player says "I'm the most important member of the team, and to hell with what the coach thinks."

What are your opinions on the people shopping for insurance in that commercial that mock his td celebration? You wanna talk about classless and arrogance.

I vote hilarious. Who knew there were captains photos? Never heard of them and seem like a bit of wankery.

edit: Didn't realize these guys represented the coin flip. I withdraw my comment. What an honour, can't believe Rodgers would trample on this sacred event.

I voted Amusing.

Rodger's teammates don't have a problem with it and look forward to it to see what he is going to come up with each week. They don't have a problem with it so why should I?

Someone seems a bit sensitive this morning

I hate the packers but think this is pretty funny. Rodgers seems like a class act, even going back to the "will favre come back or not" days when rodgers was the back up.

Way more real things wrong in the world to get up tight about than this.

This is awesome. Great poll, couldn't be set up better. Nice work!

ETA: There needs to be an "All the above" option.

Im glad you brought this to my attention. Hilarious!!The fact that he has done it since he was a backup just makes it even more funny and less what you said.
