Coach Gary Kubiak clarified after Sunday's game that Arian Foster's fourth-quarter injury was to his ankle.

"I'll have to see," Kubiak said when asked about his star running back. Foster tweaked his ankle against the Ravens last week, and the Houston Examiner's Alan Burge saw him "pointing to and rubbing" the same ankle earlier in Sunday's game. Foster never returned after leaving, but the game was out of reach. His status is up in the air heading into Week 16 at Denver. Derrick Ward is the obvious waiver pickup for Foster owners.

This is one of those injuries where it was just enough to put him out this week (and sink a lot of people's playoff game) but next week he will be back and "tough" it out because he is likely trying to capture the rushing title.

He said he could have gone back in if he needed to. Talking about it on CBS sportsline right now.

I'm thinking he was kept out for precautionary reasons and he should be good to go for his juicy matchup next week at Denver. At least, I hope so.

Rotoworld:

Foster says muscle spasm in glute was issue

Arian Foster said a muscle spasm in his glute -- not an ankle injury -- caused him to miss time in Sunday's loss to the Titans.

Foster missed the final 10 minutes of the game. Coach Gary Kubiak said it was because of an ankle sprain that limited the breakout running back in practice last week. Either way, this will be one of the biggest storylines of fantasy's Super Bowl week. We'd expect an update from Kubiak on what truly ails Foster later today. Dec. 20 - 10:30 am et

He is playing. I have no worries at all.
I put a claim in for Ward anyway. Better safe than sorry.
Of course get Ward if you can.Because, like most every week, we won't know about middling injuries until Wednesday at practice, and really Friday afternoon with much certainty unless something really flares up or shows no signs of aggravation at all.

Just my speculation, but I agree. I think he wants that rushing title...
