Asiata vs. McKinnon (1 Viewer)

Agreed that McKinnon has been pretty bad at pass protecting tonight. Asiata fumbling could lead to more time for McKinnon though. Would be interesting to see them use McKinnon on 1/2 down with Asiata getting the 3rd down and goal line touches instead of alternating series. Seems like that would get the most out of each player.

Completely agree on both fronts there.

Wishful thinking.

Given how bad he is in pass protection, McKinnon is looking to be a play only when it's a game the Vikings have more than a good chance of winning. In other words, it probably needs to be a home game when Ponder is not playing.

hoping for some late game garbage stats for McKinnon.

as soon as i saw Ponder was going to start, i had second thoughts regarding starting McKinnon.

I'm showing Asiata greater than 2/1

Can anyone double check that?
McKinnon owner here. Checking play-by-play on ESPN, which divides it up into series, it looks like exactly 2/1 (for series).

Sorry, possessions. Each possession. Not series of downs.

Asiata has 13 touches, McKinnon, 6.

Well one last quarter to see if either can salvage the night. Right now neither looked horrible (tho a fumble) but they were one of the few bright spots of the offense.

With the game out of reach, I'm assuming it's all McKinnon from here on out

Got to rest your starting RB here if the coach has a brain

asiata hasnt been in since his bad holding penalty. guessing hes done for the night. brutal game for him with the fumble and hold. wonder if he loses even more time to mckinnon. rough backfield to own right now.

Asiata is the starter. That is why he is sitting in a 30+ game.

Nah, right now looks like what someone else said, that the Vikes are just saving him. They are prob trying to get McKinnon some heavy play time tonight.
