Austin Collie - Any updates (1 Viewer)

Got nothing for you, other than that I've been waiting all day too. Took a leap of faith and acquired him in a trade today as a throw in. Just hoping he's not IR'd.

Same here. Snagged him off waivers as a flyer. Curious to hear how this turns out. Trying to to read anything into "no news"

Darn it. I'm lettin other good waiver wire wrs pass me by and keeping him on my roster.

I think if we don't hear an update today might be time to cut bait.

I just hit up Colts beat writer Mike Chappell to see if he heard anything...will keep you boys posted what I hear back

ETA:

Indianapolis Colts ‏@nflcolts

Coach Pagano will be talking live to the media around noon.

Pretty much where I am at with him too. WW pickup for bye week filler as my WR4. it's worth the shot

would you drop Turbine for him? Keep in mind i have 0 rb depth.
if it's the roster in your sig I would not. You only have 1 startable RB with FJax hurt and 5 WR....you need a guy like Turbin in hopes Lynch goes down. I would hoard every backup RB I could and pray for the best.

Great news on Collie. If he can stay healthy in this O he should be a weekly fantasy play.

so where would this news put him rank wise then? Can't really knock him down for the injury because it's not like a hammy or something that will slow him down. Maybe WR30 or so?

top 20 easy I'd think. the guy was the #1 WR for a good chunk of time the last time he was healthy and had a legitimate NFL QB.

Top-20 is way too aggressive of a forecast.Sure, Collie was top-10 for half of 1 season with a prime Peyton Manning at QB a few years back. He wasn't even rosterable last year with Indy's QB crapfest. His numbers should improve quite a bit with Luck & being healthy, but I'd be happy if he could be a fill-in for me at WR3.I'd say his absolute ceiling is top-20. Realistically, I think he could be anywhere from WR30 to WR60. We won't know until he plays. I'm still gonna pick him up & hope for the best.

I agree. As long as he's playing he will be top 20. Colts will throw, throw & throw some more and Luck is light years ahead of what they had at QB last year. When he's out there Collie will fill it up! The whole offense will be much better when Collie plays, including Donald Brown.

last year he never had a top 50 NFL QB throwing to him. I take those stats with a grain of salt. Luck will throw lots and while Wayne will get his, but he won't put up top 10 WR numbers and there should be plenty of fantasy points for 2 top 20 WRs in this offense (not many other WRs on the team will put up fantasy numbers). I see basically zero chance he falls anywhere near WR60. he was the perfect late round gamble because if he's healthy he will clearly outperform his draft slot and if he gets hurt again you just drop him. he won't be dead space on the end of your bench as you hold him all year.

I would think that they would try and ease him in, definitely way too risky to start despite the good matchup.
Why would they need to ease him back? Why is he risky? He has been cleared to play. It looks to me like he should be full go.
Concussions aren't the same as an ankle sprain, I think it would be smarter for them to limit his snaps.
why? if he's cleared he is totally good to go, should be zero conditioning issues at all.

This seems backwards. If he is cleared to play, his head is not gpoing to get any better. A sprain or return from surgery would need to be eased back in, as to not reinjure

Pick him up now fellas. Collie is capable of being a WR1. He is deceptively quick and has great hands. His concussion issues are unfortunate and, while I believe the Colts feel he is 100%, I am not certain that he can stay on the field.

Austin Collie Held Out Thursday

Colts receiver Austin Collie (concussion) was held out of practice Thursday after fully participating Wednesday, according to Adam Caplan of thesidelineview.com.

Analysis: Collie has been cleared for contact, so it's unclear if this was a precautionary measure or if Collie wasn't really a full go Wednesday. You'll recall that Collie was inactive for Week 1 after Colts coach Chuck Pagano had deemed him a "full-go." Now he was listed as a full participant in practice one day before being held out the next. It's going to be difficult to trust the Indianapolis coaching staff this season when it comes to disclosing injury information

Yeah, clear as mud.

@pwilson24: #Colts coach Chuck Pagano on WR Austin Collie, said he wasn't feeling 100 percent on Thursday. He sat out again today. Docs advice.

@mchappell51: #colts chuck pagano: austin collie came in thursday and not feeling 100 percent. doubtful for sunday.

I think what he is TRYING to say is "Pick him up becuase when healthy and on the field Collie has WR1 potential. Im just not certain he can stay healthy and on the field". I would agree with that assessment, at least when Collie's QB was payton Manning. Remains to be seen how he will produce with Luck, but I have high hopes. With that said, does anyone have a beat on whats happening NOW??? On Wednesday Pagano tells the world he is cleared for full contact and to play in games, then he misses practice on thursday with a questionable tag???

Up until now, I have been in full support of Collie's return. With the Dr's giving him the OK to return to full practice, I was thinking everything was going to go back to normal.

After today's comments from Pagano, I think Collie may be done. I hate to say it, but if he isn't feeling 100% without any contact, playing in a game is going to leave him in much worse shape.

I had been on the fence of starting him over Nate Washington. With Collie's doubtful status for Sunday, I am going to move Collie to the end of my bench and wait for the IR designation. Good Guy, sorry to see happen.

I just dropped Collie back to waivers for Brandon LaFell. Collie, or more aptly Pagano, just isn't worth the headache. :rimshot:

:tumbleweed:

I own Collie, and I am targeting Donnie Avery in waivers this week. No clue on whether Collie sees the field this year, but I am going to hold for at least a few more weeks unless his status becomes definitive.

he's hitting the wire this week. Took a punt on him but I'm not going to clog my roster waiting for him.

Yeah, I'm thinking of dropping him as well. It's starting to look like Jahvid Best ala 2011 with Collie. Might give him a couple more weeks...

I'd expect Indy to hold him out this week and then week 4 is their bye week....with what we've seen from Luck, Wayne and Avery I think you have to hold onto Collie a little while longer. Roster space in the NFL is even more valuable than our fantasy teams. If the Colts are keeping him on their active roster so should you...too much potential in the 2nd half of the season to give up on at this point.

agreed, and even if he does come back, the odds seem pretty high he only plays a game or two before getting knocked out again.

@mchappell51: #colts chuck pagano: dwight freeney, samson satele day-to-day. winston justice and austin collie will practice today

@JimIrsay: Injury report,DNP- P.Angerer D.Freeney J.Reitz C.Redding. LTD- S.Satele M.McGlynn. FULL- A.Collie W.Justice

Consecutive days of full practice for Collie. Hopefully a good sign.

I cut him last night. I looked at his production all last year (and he played every game but 3). Horrific totals even though both Wayne and Garcon were almost 1K each. And Avery is producing. I just don't see the perfect storm of Austin Collie 3 years ago, pre umpteen concussions.
