Austin Seferian-Jenkins - What do you think? (1 Viewer)

how much of this is asj and the coach butting heads, and how much of this is ASJ might just not be that good?
Part of it is both of those, and the other part is, the coaches love Brate's game, dude brings it on every practice rep, and Winston loves throwing to him.

reminds me slightly of Davis and Singletary a few years ago, smells a bit like a coach trying to take a talent and make him work at something for once so he can appreciate it

or he could be a total bone head

Talent wise, ASJ wouldn't even be worthy of carrying Moss' soiled Jock straps to the laundry. Theres nothing even remotely close to the Moss situation. Moss put some very serious numbers up, repeatedly, before he became a problem. ASJ has done less than nothing, and he doesn't know the plays.

so like, junior high or high school? You're right, theyre not comparable on the field. But there was a reason moss didnt get to go to FSU and other places

You really jump the shark when you try to make some kind of analogy that ASJ will some how become a Moss type player on the field. Moss is a once in a lifetime talent, ASJ will be out of football in short order with very little to show for it.

.....

Moss fell in the draft because he smoked weed.

Once he showed up in camp, he was a beast.

ASJ: dude has been lost since he showed up, not even close.
im confused as to where i lost you, even after i pointed out where i thought that was, you still seem lost

found this interesting article from 9/16/16 at DFF (first time visiting so take this fwiw)....looking for anything positive on the ultra talented but oft injured and puzzling ASJ; hope that the trends showing his increased snap count are the start of something (more) beautiful in TB (and I'm not a TB fan; I do like the young offensive skill players there)

There is no excuse for a millionaire to get a DUI these days.  There is Uber, Lyft, cabs, and I think k the buccaneers even will get drivera to pick them up.  Unbelievable this guy.  His 2nd one too.  He got one in college.

Unreal, I'd be fine with them just straight up cutting him now. Dude needs a huge wake up call and his head is not where it should be at.

Brate time
There have been a lot of issues with him. This summer he was kicked out of practice from what I recall. I want to say it happened before as well. Obviously has some anger/attitude issues. Believe he was in a screaming match with a coach recently as well. Now this.

Have to wonder when enough is enough.

DUI at 4:00 am 2 days before home opener.
Cut him and send a message. The team won't respect the coach for putting up with this. All he had to do was call a cab and none of this happens. A $100 cab ride tops will now cost him Gawd knows in game checks and future earnings, dumb.

Has a breathalizer he is supposed to blow into to start the car stemming from a Washington DUI...

I expect them to cut him before the weekend starts.

With his hard work ethic, on field excellence, and off field intelligence, I have bumped him above Eric Ebron in my rankings. - said no one ever.

He will be on a new team come 2017. Likely in the Canadian League.

$100 will drive you to Miami on an uber. Anywhere around Tampa would be 10-15 bucks. Unreal.

Not the best judgement.

Man, this dude had the look and feel of "the nest great FFB TE"

Now he's got the look and feel of someone about to become the fry guy at Burger King.

Some team will likely give him another chance, but I think TB might just cut him.

Hell the fact he was probably intoxicated while playing half the time makes his performances even more impressive. Lolol

I wouldn't be surprised if they did cut him, but I'd expect him to be inactive this week before that happens.

He walked off the field in June. Then he yelled at the coach during a game in August. Now he gets arrested for his 2nd DUI in September.

Cameron Brate is not much of a drop-off for them. Why deal with the antics?
And...

Brate has 58 snaps so far this year. Seferian-Jenkins 52. Not sure if they have been running any 2 TE sets, but Brate has been on the field more than ASF before this most recent incident.

Guy was already on my cut list for our next round of waivers Saturday night.  I'm not going to carry a backup TE if that's the best I can do.

Totally agree. He's a headache the Bucs don't need but he was, from a pure talent perspective, the best TE in his class. He's gone now though and he should be.

He was not the best TE from his class. Maybe in your warped mind he was. To the rest of the world, he was a basket case who failed to live up to his marginal potential. Continue to ride his nuts if you please! Players who don't play are not the best in their class.

Basket case? Yes. Most talented TE in his class? Yes. These things arent mutually exclusive. They can happen at the same time.

Ebron (10th), Amaro (49th) and Niklas (52nd) were rated higher. He was projected as a 2nd-3rd rounder, at 30th he was a bit of a reach.

Sounds like he just got cut. Probably on a plane to Foxboro where he'll catch 15 touchdowns this year.
does this mean that you are adding ASJ in all formats? or maybe this is just the use of the standard joke (where everyone goes to the Pats and excels; not true but I see it often)
