Bears Sign Garza to Six-Year Contract Extension
LAKE FOREST, Ill. (Jan. 2) - The NFC North Division champion Chicago Bears on Monday signed guard-center Roberto Garza to a six-year contract extension.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
A 2001 fourth-round pick of Atlanta, Garza spent his first four seasons with the Falcons before signing a one-year deal with the Bears in March. The 6-2, 300-pound Garza split seven starts at both guard positions this season.
Garza, 26, has played in 68 games in his career with 38 starts.
The Bears (11-5) will open the postseason in the divisional round on January 14 or 15.
