You have probably heard some Imagine Dragons songs, they had a couple songs in pretty heavy mainstream rotation. It's not my thing, but it's probably the most successful new rock group since Mumford.I'm not listening to anything called "Salvia Plath" on principle.Tufnel's listening to something called "Salvia Plath" today on Spotify.

Apparently there's also something called "Imagine Dragons." fuuuuuuck that.
Big fan after seeing them live. Kind of a middle America, commercial Jamie T. This album was a 2012 release I think.A few albums I listened to over the weekend that I didnt realize I was familiar with a song on each that I had been hearing on the radio....
Twenty One Pilots - Vessel...you may have heard their song Holding On To You. Although not really something I typically listen to, I thought this album was good. Id probably say I can appreciate it more than I thoroughly enjoyed it. A little too electronic/synthy for me at times though, and the rapping can feel forced. I thought some of the highlights and better songs were when the music was simpler, or not too convoluted for its own good. Some people here would definitely dig this more than I did.
"Wow, Brian Jonestown Massacre and REO Speed Dealer are great names. I'm going to pass on being creative and just do that.""Salvia Plath" used to call himself "Run DMT."![]()
They seem witty. Not like normal teen dolts.I think Nigel's been macking on my teenage daughters
Pretty good, but I like music about drugs I don't do anymore but wish I still did. Not great, but good.FIDLAR

A couple places Ive looked at say Jan 8th release date. Ive heard that single quite a bit on the radio. It would be interesting to see what theyre like live considering all the production on this album.Big fan after seeing them live. Kind of a middle America, commercial Jamie T. My favorite album from last year. When My Train Pulls In is one of my favorite songs of the last decade or so.black and blu: gary clark jr

You may be right. Spotify lists it as 2012 but I see January 2013 a few places.A couple places Ive looked at say Jan 8th release date. Ive heard that single quite a bit on the radio. :BONER:new J Roddy Watson and the Business coming in September.
I wanted to catch them in Lexington when I was out that way on business but they played a couple days after i was there. Posted on their Facebook page asking when they were going to hit the West Coast and they said there was an announcement coming soon.:BONER:new J Roddy Watson and the Business coming in September.
great live show
yeah, I liked Blak and Blu and will be checking this one out too.My favorite album from last year. When My Train Pulls In is one of my favorite songs of the last decade or so.black and blu: gary clark jr
Im definitely interested to see if his next album is as diverse as Blak & Blu. I think he surprised some people there. His live iTunes session from a few months ago is smoking and sticks mostly with the blues rock songs (and covers).
So they have similar sounds I take it? Id be shocked if I liked it more than the Jason Isbell which may end up being my album of the year, Southeastern's a lock for my Top 5 if not. That said, I'll definitely check out John Moreland.John Moreland's In The Throes is freaking awesome - I was looking forward to Isbell's Southeastern, but after hearing both albums I think Moreland's is better. The guy writes incredible songs.
I will usually refrain from posting something negative in here as I don't want to discourage or disparage suggestions, but this was absolutely awful.Big fan after seeing them live. Twenty One Pilots is to Jamie T as
_____________ is to the Beatles
where the only answer listed would be Apache
yeah, both in the Americana vein. The Isbell album's good, and it has better production and polish, but I feel like JM's stuff is stronger lyrically. So they have similar sounds I take it? PFFFFFFT!Who had no idea how to write a decent tune.Frank Zappa was a very wise man.Frank Zappa said the same thing about music in the '80s.Slowly but surely removing all talent from music, one Pitchfork darling at a time. Don't get me wrong, I get wanting to take ecstasy and dance for 10 hours to grooves that go on and on and on...that was pretty much my life in SF from 1996 to 2000. But let's not confuse this with music.![]()

Hard to believe she's so young...she sounds much older. I've enjoyed that record a lot, but the style of music usually isn't my cup of tea.finally caught up on this thread and added a bunch of stuff to a playlist on spotify to listen to.
on my first spin of Laura Marling's album and I don't want to stop listening and move on to anything else right now.![]()
