Blazing Saddles

History of the World Part 1

Spaceballs

To Be Or Not To Be (I am one of the very few who enjoyed it apparently).

The rest is not required viewing.

Favorite was Blazing Saddles. Had to love the lineup of cut-throats. Castle stampeding... through the vatican. He's just dark from a cross burning, see, its coming off.

The sheriff is a <ding> I think he said the sheriff is near. bad jum garnit, I said the sheriff is a <ding>

Made the same poll earlier this week. Didn't find it in a search and I'm sure glad I hadn't previously voted on it.

I forgot the ole, "Excuse me while I whip this out" line

The only answer to this question is Young Frankenstein.

The rest of you probably prefer Scary Movie 3 to Galaxy Quest too.

Voted History of the World. So much good in that. Also love Spaceballs - looking forward to the sequel.

Never saw The Producers, To Be or Not To Be or Dracula. Also never made it all the way through High Anxiety.

Galaxy Quest was excellent. Scary Movie (and any of its sequels) not so much.

Still voted Blazing Saddles

"They said you was hung!"

"They was right!"

I had almost forgotten how miserable Smoo was. Go back and read page 1. He actually said Caddyshack is terrible.

:loco:
A couple weeks ago I busted out Caddyshack for my son who is now in high school. He fell asleep! The next morning he said it was old and not very funny. Ouch.

Blazing Saddles holds up remarkably well.

I tried to watch Young Frankenstein recently - awful. Did not hold up at all.

Blazing Saddles in the top 5 funniest for me.

History, yf, spaceballs all hilarious too, but saddles is a different league for me.

Most people call me.... Jim

Young Frankenstein by a hair over Blazing Saddles. BS's climax, while funny, takes the rest of the movie down a notch IMO.

And no freaking way BS gets remade today... So un-PC despite mocking racism being the point of the movie.

Spaceballs and HOTWP1 are close to each other in the second tier.

Saw High Anxiety recently and was going to ask about Mel Brooks movies, Rather than do that, I found this old poll and bumped it.

My favorite is Young Frankenstein but High Anxiety is really good and surprisingly clever. May be my 2nd fave of Mel Brooks, even over Blazing Saddles. Read that Hitchcock himself was a script consultant.
