Best ONE-LINE scenes in a movie (1 Viewer)

This was a horrible movie, but the line at the end almost made it worthwhile.

Does one word repeated over and over in a scene count?

  • Love
Reactions: Zow
Best ones that immediately come to mind:

"Go ahead, make my day."

"I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse."

" Toga! Toga!"

"What we have here is a failure to communicate."

"I'll have what she's having."

"Bond. James Bond."

"I love the smell of napalm in the morning."

"Here's Johnny."

And basically every line from The Big Lebowski and Caddyshack.

Though it isn't one line, my favorite by far is:

"Your best? Losers always whine about their best. Winners go home and ....... you know the rest."

Danny Glover in Silverado

I could find just a clip of his one-liner, but it's at the end of the 2 minute link above.

Scott Glenn gets some bad news and starts powering up. When he's done, he asks Glover if he needs a pistol.

Glover, holding up two rifles and wearing crossed bandoliers: "This oughta do".

He has a couple of others in this film, but that's my favorite.

There seems to be some confusion between one-liners and one-line scenes
Then throw in the one-word confusion...

I guess I am guilty about the point of this thread. I thought it was one-liners but it does appear to be a one-line scene (i.e. the entire movie scene consists of only one line).

Seems like there could be some crossover.
I am having some hard time thinking of scenes with just one line.

Josey Wales -

"The hell with them fellas....buzzards gotta eat...same as worms.

Just after the injured young Johnny Reb has asked whether they should bury the 2 bounty hunters they'd just killed.

The last line from "The Candidate" when Bill McKay (Redford) just won the election for U.S. Senate, then turns to his campaign strategist and asks: “What do we do now?”

It was Beauty killed the beast.
