It's a complicated deal we have in place. We prefer not to share the details.FBG's...is FBG's charging FanDuel the full price of a subscription....?

Dentist to the white phone please. As an existing fanduel member, I feel like someone just took a dump on my chest.
that's cool....I am assuming the answer is "no" you are not charging them the full price....which is fine cause that really wouldn't make much sense...so let's at least just agree they "aren't paying the premium" to get these new customers....It's a complicated deal we have in place. We prefer not to share the details.FBG's...is FBG's charging FanDuel the full price of a subscription....?
yeah it's kinda crazy huh.....like those companies that do allow you to come back in if it actually does go on sale after you paid full price for it and they refund you the difference....wacky stuff....how dare they take care of their previous customers like that....life's not supposed to work like that....they are making everybody else look bad by pulling that crap...The criticism is kind of dumb. It's like complaining that something went on sale after you bought it at full price. Guess what? Things are going to go on sale every now and then and some offers you will be able to participate in and some you won't. That's life.
Have fun but be aware daily fantasy sites carry very heavy juice. It's like playing in a $3/$6 limit Hold em game with a $4 rake. You simply will not beat this over the long term.introduces me to another vehicle for my gambling addiction.
change the email address in your FBG profile to the new one you've created to get the deal... and voilawell I imagine e-mail addresses would need to vibe with the one you have with FBG, you could just create a new FBG account, but then you would get a 2012 subscription instead of 2013.
MoralsWhat's stopping members from signing up for this deal with a new email address and credit card?
LOL, no seriously... what's stopping people?MoralsWhat's stopping members from signing up for this deal with a new email address and credit card?
just want to say...I don't really have beef with FBG about this, it's more of a FanDuel issue...I think it's great FBG worked something out like this for their members.....however, during the negotiations this obviously came up and it might have been good for FBG or whoever to to nudge FanDuel into doing something to also help out current FanDuel members since they are in this long term agreement together....I could really give a crap, this is less than $30 we are talking about, but it's more a matter of principle....and I also don't like to sit here and pretend like FanDuel in paying a "premium" for getting these new customers and paying FBG the full $28.95 per.....don't need to be punched in the nuts and then also try to have the wool pulled over our eyes.....This backlash was surely not anticipated by the FBG's.Though realistically, it's fair to see why some members would be pissed. But I revert back to my comment on the previous page... What's stopping members from signing up for this deal with a new email address and credit card?
If that actually works thenchange the email address in your FBG profile to the new one you've created to get the deal... and voilawell I imagine e-mail addresses would need to vibe with the one you have with FBG, you could just create a new FBG account, but then you would get a 2012 subscription instead of 2013.![]()

Bingo! Nice work, this is a very logical way to go about it. If someone signed up for freerolls but never deposited, having them make a first time $25 deposit is basically the same as getting a new customer. As one of the people who was disappointed to be in the "freeroller, no deposit" boat, I'm very satisfied with this compromiseJust got done talking with FanDuel here.
Some good and bad news.
The bad news is if you have deposited money before with FanDuel, you are not eligible for this offer. This is offered as a one-time signup bonus for new accounts.
For people though that signed up for freerolls without ever depositing money, we have much better news:
FanDuel is going to manually change their past affiliate tags to the current one we are using with this promo: FBG. That means if they deposit now, they will qualify for the subscription. Once they deposit, they'll get the "Footballguys success!" page alerting them that they've qualified for the subscription.
The FanDuel develpment team will need to make this tweak tonight though so please wait until Wednesday or later if this is your situation.

The big thing is we wanted to make sure anyone who signed up for the freeroll stuff last year was able to play take advantage of this. Hang on and we hope to have things ready for you guys that applies to on Thursday.Just got done talking with FanDuel here.

As someone who only casually gambles, can you flesh this out a bit for me. Also, so say for every $5 you bet they take 50 cents automatically or something?Have fun but be aware daily fantasy sites carry very heavy juice. It's like playing in a $3/$6 limit Hold em game with a $4 rake. it depends on how you look at it. Whoever was going to subscribe to FBG's anyway gets a free $35 on fanduel to play with.FBG's probably gets $100 for every referral, so they make a ton, but it's for the good of their subscriber base as we can only gain on the deal.Win win situation and for the owners like Dodds/Bryant it's a huge announcement. It may not be huge for subscribers, but it's still beneficial and we get a free $35 to play with.'Shane Falco said:I can't wait for the big announcement later todayOr was that it?![]()

It's pretty huge. The site is essentially free this year for about 90% of FBGers (anyone who wasn't already on FanDuel). All it costs is a $25 deposit, but it doesn't cost $25 because that money is still yours. The only cost is basically whatever you win or lose with your deposit.Huge for Joe & David is not necessarily the same as huge for subscribers. It's great that they set it up, but what percentage of their subscribers will care? Just seems like a case of overhype to me.I hope the three articles per week and the effort devoted to setting up this partnership don't detract from other features that are higher priority to more of the subscribers.

....superb customer service here by David/FBG....actually taking the time to do that is much appreciated....thank you
:greatquestion:whats fanduel?
I assume the deposit has to be used (or at least laid on the line) in order for this to work.Otherwise, what goofball wouldn't immediately withdraw the $ the second they got the free FBG subscription? It's pretty huge. Characterizing something as overhype does not equate to entitlement. I think it's great for everyone who cares about it. And I hope it doesn't take away from features other subscribers care about more.Odd sense of what constitutes entitlement by some people.Odd sense of entitlement by some people.
yes the magazine is part of the subscriptionWill I be getting the free interactive FBG magazine as well as the one year subscription, all for depositing $25? Sounds like a sweet deal...
