Big Marshall Faulk Rumor! (1 Viewer)

Wimer...please don't drop Barber down your rankings, I'm a little heavy on him in some survivor leagues. Feel free to look at LT, Holmes, or McAlister.

This better be true about faulk. I've already started talking much trash in one of my dynasty league message boards already. I love bringing joy like this to my league boards even if there is a slight chance I am wrong.I'm like the bad news fairy in a sick kinda way. "Get Some"!! :excited:

Is there any merit to this? I have not seen or heard anything at all and can't confirm or deny it? Spouting off stuff that turns out to be erroneous will cause pandemonium and chaos. (I suppose that would happen if it were true, too.)Any other informed, documentable, reliable sources have anything on this one?

All I'm doing is reporting what I'm hearing. I'm not totally convinced that Faulk won't line up in the backfield for Week 1. Maybe the announcers are just trying to make a story out of nothing. Nothing is certain right now.

so IN DETAIL, what did they say? "something about his knee" isn't very good reporting if that's all they said. can we get some clariification? or was this just to lure listeners (not from the poster, but from the station)?

John Hadley on KTRS reported tonight that there is some concern in Rams headquarters about Marshall being able to play this year. His knee may not be recovered. Quote from Hadley 'There is no guarantee that Marshall will play this year.'The Rams can't let him retire, they'd have to put him on injured reserve to avoid the cap hit.
This is what was posted on the Rams Message board, there is no confirmation on this information, just speculation by one reporter.

I started listening towards the end of their Rams segment so I missed the exact details. But it was clear that they were referring to Marshall Faulk not being able to play much in 2004 due to knee problems.

Faulk has "Apparently" told friends he might not be able to go. Apparently there is some "flap" of stuff in his knee that wasn't fixed with his surgery. This is a review they are going over right now on the show.

How much is Stephen Jackson's agent enjoying this rumor? Or could he have been the one who planted it?

"Don't count on Marshall Faulk in 2004 to be a productive member of the Rams." "May not be able to go, MAY being the big word there."

This is just another reason to avoid Faulk in drafts. It boggles my mind that some people still see him as an early second round pick. Sadly, all good things come to an end.

A bit more but it is speculation at this point...-- Faulk Could Retire! --Thu Jul 8, 2004 --from FFMastermind.com FFMastermind.com Rams correspondent Bruce Campbell reports John Hadley of KTRS 550 AM announced today that he has "two sources" inside the Ram organization that "can't guarentee that RB Marshall Faulk will play in 2004". Hadley says Faulk's knee is a problem that isn't going away, and the Rams drafted RB Steve Jackson in the case Faulk retires. Hadley also said that his boss, KTRS sports director Jim Holder, "was on the phone all afternoon" and essentially confirmed that members of the Rams are saying that Faulk may, in fact, retire this summer during summer camp IF the knee continues to bother him.

I think the rumor is true.Otherwise, why would Barry Sanders and Ricky Watters be lunching with their agents in St. Louis?

Look at Wimer getting some Bryant Love in today's daily email update... "In fact, our Mark Wimer took a great deal of heat recently for ranking Faulk #26."Is it too late for Kerry to nominate Wimer for VP over Edwards? You da man Mark!

If, and only IF there is any thuth to this "rumor", how would this affect Bulger? Drastically? Marginally? Slightly?

With the belief many have on this board that Jackson is the clear replacement and that he is capable of dealing with the blitz pick ups, then I would think the impact would be minimal. Early season results might be mixed but with each game Jackson will gain invaluable experience and could easily develope into a top 10 RB. If that happens Bulger will be fine.

WHAT THE HELL'S GOING ON IN HERE?

Seriously
Faulk is possibly retiring due to his knee, that is what is going on in here.
How you doin? :brush:
Why can't I be treated as a woman who loves FF instead of a piece of meat? I'm here to talk about Marshall Faulk, if your looking for some booty you might want to try elsewhere.

Bulger averaged 325 yards and a shade under 2 TDs per game in the 5 games that Faulk missed. The Rams had the 3rd worst rushing attack in the NFL in terms of yards per game last year and the 5th worst in terms of yards per carry. I don't think the absence of Faulk will materially impact Bulger.

Thank you for disrespecting me once again. In the future please don't refer to random woman as sweetcheeks.

Let's get back to the topic of Marshall Faulk, as he is the only man that I am interested in hearing about. Go to a strip club if your in the mood to degrade woman.

Wimer for President and CEO of FBG.com
I finish second in this race with Faulk all the way down at #18. Can I be the vice president in charge of FBG operations?

what happened to lamar gordon btw? is he totally out of the picture?he is listed as #2 on the depth chart for the moment according to nfl.com

Take it easy on Tony. He's one of our sex-starved, bar carousing, golf playing dudes that just likes to have a good time. No harm intended, I'm sure. Then again, I have no idea who you are and you're just as likely to pull a "Crying Game" on everyone here. ;)

By the way Shick, the rest of us Maggots would love it if you'd make your first pick.
