Big Ten Basketball 2022/2023 - Return to Power (3 Viewers)

Unless they #### the bed down the stretch that probably just put them in the tourney.

Probably solidified Gard's job too. Unless Barry had no intention of hiring him in the first place

Was disappointed when Stone chose Maryland and not UW, but I couldn't fault the kid. Unfounded rumors of low ACT scores and the like wouldn't allow him to enroll here anyways and he probably wasn't even really considering it. But again, I wanted him to to well (and then GTFO of the B1G).

But that was a pretty ####ty move today and he should have been booted. I hope he gets a game or so from the B1G, or hell even Turgeon.

That said, there hasn't been a history of him being a knob has there? This isn't Albert Haynesworth or Ndonkeykong Suh we're talking about here. Hope the kid can learn to control himself.

No, he's not been knobbish until yesterday's game. He should have been ejected - I have no idea how the refs, after reviewing the play for several minutes, couldn't see that. There was absolutely no call for what he did and I think he should sit for at least one game. I haven't read Turgeon's post-game remarks about it, if he even addressed it, but it wouldn't shock me if he imposed a one-game sit himself.

Wisconsin played great. They shoot like that down the stretch and they're gonna be a tough out. They out-everything'ed MD.

Oof, MD certainly crapped the bed. Maybe this will be one of those "hey we're not as good as we think we so we better go all out each game" kind of loss. Maybe?

Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin all elevated their tourney position. I think Indiana and Michigan are solidly in assuming no bad losses. Wisconsin still needs a good win and needs to avoid a bad loss.

Gard doing an amazing job in his "audition" for the head coach. Even in his early loses Wisky was in those games. These kids really have responded well to him.

Michigan could really use a sweep this week. At Ohio State will not be easy.

I'm dumb as a box of rocks, but they'd be running wind sprints up and down Rte 1 this morning if I was the coach. That effort was pathetic.

I'll optimistically view this as a wake up call.

Michigan has a brutal schedule left. Iowa and at Maryland and at Wisconsin. Northwestern is their must win and @OSU would be nice. The other three are highly unlikely unless they happen to hit a great night where the threes are falling. I think MSU put on a clinic on how to beat Michigan though.

Good for Bucky. Especially good that they controled thier emotion after Stone's play. They could have come out angry and vengeful in th esecond half and could have collapsed when Maryland made a few mini-runs, but they kept their composure under challenging conditions.

When MD cut it to single digits, I thought Wisconsin was done. They kept their heads and the Terps didn't.

Maryland suspends Stone for one game. Big Ten agrees. Heaven forbid they do something.

Turgeon called UW interim head coach Greg Gard and Brown to also apologize. Maryland athletic director Kevin Anderson reached out to UW athletic director Barry Alvarez and Brown's parents.

"Diamond's conduct during Saturday's game was a poor representation of the standards that we have established as a program at the University of Maryland," Turgeon said in a release. "I have talked with Diamond and he realizes he made a mistake.

"He felt very badly about what happened and will learn from this experience. I want to sincerely apologize to Vitto Brown and Greg Gard for what transpired Saturday."

In a release, the Big Ten said it agreed with the one-game suspension because Stone, violated the conference's sportsmanship policy.

I thought there was some possibility that Wisconsin's win in convincing fashion, on the road, against Maryland would get them into the top 25 in the polls.  I guess their early season play cannot be washed clean quite so easily.

What in THE HELL is with this camera angle in the M/OSU game?
i guess they wanted to give you a floor level view, but it sucks.  This was a big game for Michigan as 3 of their last 4 games are likely losses.  This loss along with the other likely losses, will probably put Michigan on the bubble.

UM-OSU last night. That was horrible, what was ESPN thinking? Let's give a view that doesn't give any perspective and blocks half of what is going on. They mentioned it on the news this morning noting how ESPN was getting horrible reviews for it. I could see if they wanted to cut to that shot in certain instances but to do only that angle the whole game - wow.

In the last 14 years, Michigan has won 1 total game in football and basketball combined in Columbus. 1-20 against a rival.

The Terps are just not a good basketball team at the moment.  I don't know if he's hurt, but Trimble isn't right.  Hasn't been for a while.  Nickens is useless.  The backcourt is basically a disaster at this point, and no depth at the 1 - 3.

Yikes. Glad I missed this one.

What's Trimble's shooting been the last 4 or 5 games? Like 10-60?
