Bitcoin-Explain to me how to buy these things (1 Viewer)

I don't think we know how any of this #### is going to play out just yet. I'm sticking to buying mostly BTC and ETH (80%) with 20% in ADA, SOL, DOT and MATIC.

Be a good time to get in on SOL if one was so inclined, currently at $161.42.

I trimmed a little ADA last week to take some gains and just put that into SOL today.

I'm still super small time here (still just Coinbase and BlockFi), but really appreciating the education and knowledge shared in here as I look to diversify a bit more.

Honest Question:  How do you guys keep up with all this?  I don't have anything invested, just wondering how you do it?

Oh then you'll be wanting to ignore pretty much anything I post. Pay attention to Cranks, KGB, TheDirtyWord, Chaos (when he's speaking coherently). Actually pretty much anyone other than me and you should be good to go

Cranks & Chaos would be a ridiculously good name for a podcast btw. YWIA

Congrat's on the victory Saturday, your Ducks whooped our ###.

Other than my day job, it's all I do.  If I'm watching TV, it's Youtube about crypto.  If I'm on the internet, it's Twitter or Discord reading up on crypto or browsing NFT projects.  If I"m on my phone I'm doing the same.  It's a fun hobby and considering it may allow me to retire at the age of 45 if things land right, I'm all in right now.

If you want specifics, I'd start by watching some of the more grounded, educational Youtubers like Coin Bureau.  Others I follow are The Bitcoin Express, Altcoin Buzz, Giancarlo Buys Tokens, and CTO Larsson.  The industry is broad, so just focus on learning about Bitcoin and branch out from there once you get your feet under you.

LOL.  That does have a good ring to it.

:)

How to crank out a sophisticated well-thought out crypto index fund... or a chaotic one.

I am deep down the nft rabbit hole. Can't find my way out. It's fun. The solo 401k was going to emphasize gaming to the tune of 50k. Nope. Gonna fill it with collectibles slowly.

I have done nicely with GameFi. In at $24. Think the future is very bright there. The "read more" on CMC is worth a look. Deep dive here

It's fun, but dangerous.  You buy one, then you want another... And another... And another.  I spent nearly $50k in two weeks before shutting myself down.  Even then I couldn't keep myself from DCAing a losing position.

I'll keep what I have and hope the losers rebound while my Cardano Aeoniumsky position keeps climbing to even things out.

What are the gas fees usually like to unstake HEX once your stake period is over?  About the same as it originally cost to swap from ETH into HEX, or higher/lower?

I'm just getting started with about 6k HEX and wanted to try out staking on a shorter period (30-90 days).  Was worried I might actually lose money on that though with gas fees.

Ren finally decided to rise from the dead today.  It was my largest alt I had with the intentions of trading.  Avg buy was $1.00.  It was tough to see it drop to .33.

ATH of $1.83 might be back in sights.

I'm about to unstake as my stake is ending in about 2 weeks and I'll let you know.  Edit.  9 days for 1st stake

But I think it's the same as staking.  As in it depends on the gas fees

Any suggestion for phone games to play that don't need to have every daily completed and not a huge start up cost? Just looking to burn some time in the pace if possible.

I think it was Chaos that said something to the effect that "owning a million of anything is just a rush".

Huh. I sort of wish I'd gotten in on Bitcoin when Reason magazine sort of outed its founder, or -- ahem with the word -- speculated on who it was.

Libertarians and money are almost always spot-on, at least the consensus of their findings usually is. I should have gotten in. Story of my life.

Good luck to all.

It's not too late.

Thanks, man. This thread would be gold; I just don't have the wherewithal and have a life situation that prevents solid investing right now. In the future, though, I'm sure I will be looking to build the nest egg that I have.

I also got burned in the nineties on tech and e-stocks and have never forgotten it. My savings and employment match for about six years were pretty much wiped out by the performance of the high-tech portfolio I was building. I still would do it again.
